Been after a wireless keyboard with a touchpad for my TV so I can relax on my lounge while trolling Ozbargain.

This is great for the price, makes using the TV's apps and smart features so much easier.

If Bing Lee has limited stock you can get a price match/beat, got mine from my local Harvey Norman for the same price yesterday.

They had them for $69 and Officeworks has them for $68.

K400 Plus Static Ice. ⌨️

The Logitech K400 is a wireless, media-friendly keyboard with a specially-designed layout including additional buttons and controls.

Key Features

  • PC-to-TV entertainment is made even more convenient thanks to the Logitech K400 Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad, providing you with the familiar computer controls from the comfort of your couch, while using your TV.
  • The integrated touchpad of this wireless keyboard allows for easy navigation of your PC without the hassle of a separate keyboard and mouse.
  • Just plug in the small Unifying receiver into a USB port to start using this touch keyboard. This receiver also allows you to connect up to six Unifying devices to your computer.
  • The K400 Plus works with multiple operating systems: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and later; Android 5.0 and later; and Chrome OS.
  • A 10-meter wireless range helps maximise usability for this keyboard, while the 18-month battery life (tested for 2-hour use per day) might make you forget it needed batteries in the first place.

Love this keyboard, does what its designed to do without unnecessary "improvements"

    • Yeah it's perfect, great size and works really well on Chrome on my TV.

      • How do you connect it to your Chrome?

        • +2

Chrome is on my Android TV, bit of a hassle to install but worth it as I use Google accounts and it syncs passwords and bookmarks etc across all my devices.

  • If your after an easy to use keyboard-mouse combo for your TV checkout the "Mele F10 Deluxe".
    - Rechargeable battery (lasts ages)
    - AI remote learning function
    - Airmouse (once you get the hang of it, best thing ever)
Originally got it with my MeLe box but then switched to Minix a few years ago, works flawlessly.

      • you're

        agreed

        • +1
          • Agreed.
        • +11

It was funny the first time.

    • +4

I've got one but hate using the air mouse.. Idea is great, but usability is not there yet in my opinion. Would take a trackpad over this any day of the week

      • +2

I guess it depends on what you use it for. I mainly use it to navigate through Kodi and other TV apps and find it easy to use.

      • +1

        Mouse is good, no problemo.

    • +1

Had one, got used to airmouse, it was ok.
      It broke.

Currently have a Logitech keyboard similar to the above, the K830. it's been brilliant. fwiw I remember doing research and the verdict seemed to be the k830 was better than k400 (better touchpad or something)

      • K830 is a class above the K800. Better touchpad, illuminated keys and bluetooth. On the negative side it is noticably heavier than 800. The built-in rechargable battery can potentially be considered a negative since it doesnt have a dock and relies on a cable.

        • Its a usb cable, same as an android phone .. Most people on Ozbargain have 20 or 30 lying around from everytime a Blitzwolf cable comes up cheap :)

    • my mele was shit- zero customer support- shite product in my experience.

      • Remote or media box?
Absolutely agree with the no support comment. Had one of their media boxes which was just full of flaws and they pretty much gave up on it after a few updates. Best thing they've made is the remotes.

        • remotes

Thanks OP - will try and price match at my local (Vic) Officeworks today.

    • in vic office works might include postage in price match as bing lee has no vic stores.

    • JB wouldn’t price match due to no stock shown on website

    • Further, Bing Lee chat just said this
“This model is currently on back order
There is no eta yet from suppliers at this stage”

  • +3

Serious trolls hunch over their desktop computer in their troll cave for hours on end. There is no relaxing while trolling.

  • +1

Has anyone ever managed to price match stuff from Bing Lee in states that don't have it? If so what chain?

    • +1

I would assume they will match it but also include the shipping cost.

You really have to try for yourself.

      • +1

Yep, officeworks happily price matched speakers for me and added shipping costs.

  • +4

I have the previous model. It's great for a HTPC. Battery has lasted at least 4+ years.

Having the extra left-mouse-click on the left of the keyboard is genius.

  • +1

Can you use this directly with a Samsung TV?

I bought a Samsung keyboard, but my model doesn’t have Bluetooth so can’t use it. Been looking at a USB option if possible.

    • +2

“Plug the tiny Unifying receiver into a USB port and start the fun. Use the keyboard receiver to connect up to six Unifying devices to your computer.”

Uses a USB receiver, so I imagine it would be fine?

    • +3

Yes it will work, it's wireless and not Bluetooth.

As long as you have a USB port it will be fine.

  • Sold out already!

  • Out of Stock

    • It's been this price since Boxing Day in store and on eBay and that's why there's none left.

  • +1

If you can find a store with stock, can price beat to OW : https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/logitech-p…

  • +1

For those who missed out, Myer has the slighly larger K400R for $40 at the moment. https://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/k400r-wireless-touch-ke…

  • +3

Love my K400r and K400 Plus - pro tips:

    • Turn on ClickLock in mouse properties so you can highlight and drag without holding down the mouse button

    • Check "Swap f key functions" / "Use F1-F12 as standard function keys" within SetPoint Settings / Logitech Options to avoid having to use the FN key to access the F keys

    • Can't do that with TV though.

    • Got the K400r for $23 bucks from Harvy Norman when it was on sale. It works great.

    • +2

ClickLock can be toggled with FN + Left Mouse Click

    • Which one do you prefer?

  • No excuse now to move to PC gaming

    • It's great for couch PC use, but I'm not sure how well I could game with it. We use it on the couch to choose which game to play and stuff, but we use wireless controllers to actually play the games (360 and PS3 controllers or wiimotes).

      • Yep that what I do as well. Helps that I mostly just play rl

  • +1

Umart has the white version for $39 and this one for $40. You can click and collect.

  • Does this also work wirelessly with an iPad or Mac laptops?

    • +1

No. You have to use usb dongle for connection.

  • You could get additional discount if Binglee ebay have them listed. :)

    • I checked - they don’t. :/

  • Whats the range like, im thinking ide need Bluetooth like my current diNovo Mini.

    • +2

      It says 10 metres.

I've used mine at about 6 and no problems.

  • +3

Lol, went to JB to price match, and the guy literally just asked me “What is the price?” and didn’t even want to see the website

    • +8

Were you wearing an Ozbargain T-shirt?

      • No, but he was…

        (P.S. Send shirts!)
(P.P.S. I wish that were true. Are there any double agents out there?)

    • what state was that?

my local jb checks the price every time on the same day - same person will make the same check for the same item every time asked in the same hour.

      • ACT: the Tuggeranong Hyperdome store is like that too, but they're usually super chill at Woden and Belconnen ♨︎☃✌︎

  • +2

Be warned, the touchpad is terrible and will become completely unresponsive or go bonkers if you have any moisture on your fingers from humidity, eating an apple, or using it for its intended purpose as a media centric keyboard and having condensation on your fingers from whatever you're drinking while watching a movie.

    • What if I have a preference to pear…….?

  • Can you get this in store for this price? Might try my local Bing Lee and if no stock then will try for price match at JB hi-fi.

  • Is this keyboard easy to clean? Let's say a user were to spill a small amount of fluid on it on a regular basis. Asking for a friend.

    • +1

Spill the fluid on your friend instead.

  • +2

    Matched at JB thanks!

  • Would Vic officeworks/HN/Jb be willing to price match interstate stores usually?

  • +1

No good at jbhifi garden City Brisbane, told me to f… off, I mean buy them from being Lee " dirt cheap"

    • Sounds as if they don't rike Bing Ree.

    • most staff at that store have that attitude. Hyperdome is no better.

      • +1

        Hyperdome is no better.

All I want is what's beyond, the Hyperdome.

    • that sounds like JB HIFI alright.

    • Nothing for hn as well, don't match. Only Officeworks plus delivery.

  • I remember these at 20.00 - pretty ordinary then

    • The plus version?

      • maybe the r got both cant remember

  • I can't seem to grasp the concept of this KB. Can it be connected wirelessly straight to a TV by bluetooth or via a computer therefore a computer is needed for mirroring the content on the TV?

    • It's not Bluetooth, it's wireless.

Comes with a USB receiver that you plug into a PC/TV USB port.

  • +3

I've had one of these before, soooo good for living room or boardroom pc use. Pairs well with a rasberry pi

  • They force you over to their customer service bots to 'check availability' They say no word on when new stock is coming.

  • +1

Bing lee out of stock in all stores. Will try price match thanks

  • Harvey Norman wouldn't price match me cause they said it has to be for sale online and in stock.

    • HN Balgowlah just did it for me. They only have 1 left (I bought 2)

  • +1

Bought the last one they had in the Moore Park store. Hope it works well.

  • +1

Had this for a while, bought it to replace the previous version which started to have frequent dropouts.

It's pretty much the same - feels nicer, range seems better etc.. except those up/down arrows took a bit of getting used to since they're half the size of the left/right ones; you end up hitting them instead when navigating kodi :/

  • +1

Was able to price match at OW Guildford West after OW Wentworthville said no. Thanks OP, I am always misplacing the mouse in my keyboard and mouse combo.

    • +1

Those mice should have reproduced by now. Please call a pest controller to round them up.

  • +1

Price matched at my local JB HiFi. Thanks OP :)

  • Does this need a driver? If I plug the receiver into my TV's USB will it work just like a USB keyboard/mouse?

    • +1

No drivers, just plug in and it works.

  • Bing Lee have run out of stock if you can wait, you can order at the sale price by ringing them and they will send when the stock is replenished. They don't have a ETA but I am in no particular hurry.

    • How is their postage/delivery fee?

      • +1

I am picking up from store so free. Not sure how much delivery is.

  • Angelo
Hi, unfortunately we are completely out of stock of those throughout all stores
Was there anything else I can assist you with?
