did you have to copy and paste all that nonsense?

i'm pretty sure we all know what win10 is

    • Yes I did.

    • +1

      You`re already an expert.

  • +3

Isn't this considered 'dodgy' because it is an OEM key, meaning it should only be sold with new hardware? Is this really any better than buying a far cheaper OEM key from a less reputable seller?

    • +5

I think they relaxed that rule a decade ago… because MSY was selling it with a $10 mouse as 'hardware'.

Now the restriction is that this OEM key is forever tied to a motherboard or a laptop so if your motherboard or laptop goes bang, then your license is gone.

With non OEM you can transfer your license to the new computer.

      • +4

Correct, i have used this with a couple of PCs, if I replace the mobo it becomes invalid. This is also true of the assistive technologies key. It is mobo tied.

    • Exactly, most of these are illegally sold. Might as well just pirate the OS for free if you're buying from these sites.

      • Pirating comes with risks of malware in the supplied software or the keygen/activation hack. That said, $89 is too much for this. I agree that you may as well buy one of the $15 keys from a less reputable seller. For me, $15 was worth it to not have to deal with the hassle of getting a pirated copy to work - and being able to use updates without risk etc.

        these sites

I have had nothing but good business with ozgameshop. They are a legit online games store.

        • The trolls don't like this bargain for some reason. Up ote from me! Thanks OP.

OEM key can be sold as-is now. - edit beaten by tonyjzx

As someone who deserted windows a decade ago, I didn't need to read all that. But I'm sure the offer will be of use to other windows lovers

      • -1

surprised to be downvoted below threshold here… people much actually think they have some privacy on windows 10 lol

  • I have a Surface Pro with a non activated enterprise edition of Win10. I assume I can use this OEM to do a clean install?

    • Yeah that's how OEM is generally used but it shouldn't make any difference

  • -3

Wait.. people actually buy Microsoft Windows?

    • Does this mean the offer should be negged?

      • -2

Yes. But the OzBargain sheeples will just keep on voting positive.

    • +1

only 19 in stock there and I have no idea about this seller. I have bought the product I have posted, and can vouch for authenticity and prompt speed of delivery. (also you can use your player points for further discount).

I don't think that company is legit. Looked at it previously and found the following:

      1. Their parent, JVM Tech, is an Indian SEO company.
      2. On a .com.au domain with no ABN or ACN on the website. You aren't meant to be able to register a .com.au domain without an ABN or ACN.
      3. The Australian address is for a virtual office.
      4. The New York Address is an apartment block.
      5. Their UK Head Office address appears to not only be a flat, but is a mail forwarding service, was used as the address in a scam, is home to no less than 884 companies and - this is my favourite part - was featured in the Panama Papers.
      • my malwarebytes blocked that site on the spot

      • They have serviced my needs for 6 years now, helping me get hard copies of hard to find games. i will stick with them. I have also won a bunch of fb contests with them and earned a stack of player points all of which I redeemed without issue.

Or you can get windows 7 dirt cheap and get the windows 10 update free through the assistive technologies page.

    • -1

pretty sure that offer expired 13 days ago

      • +4

Nope, they extended it, still active atm.

        • Until January 16, 2018.

For an old XP laptop I got a Win8.1 Pro license cheap, then upgraded it to 10 Pro.

    • +1

…or, just install Win10 and not bother to activate it. Apart from not being able to change some custom settings (e.g. desktop wallpaper) and having to put up with the 'Activate Windows 10' badge near the system tray, it works just fine. I've been running that on my desktop now for over a year and it hasn't had any trouble at all.

      • +1

I remember from Windows 7 days, soon they will lock-out people and you will need to reset your registry every 31 days or face losing your data. The warning in the corner prompted me to upgrade, I still remember clearly the horror.

      • +1

As stormii said, you will get locked out sooner or later, its better to take advantage of a legitimate way to get windows 10.

    • Thanks for that @garetz I was already running Windows 8.1 so upgraded tonight via this completely free of charge

  • Can this directly replace Windows Vista or do you need to go Windows 7, and then upgrade to 10?

    • Yes just do a custom installation.

    • It is the full install, you can put it on a new PC or upgrade an old one.

    • +1

I have purchased from G2Deal a couple times now when needing Win 10 keys, easily the cheapest place online for them.

    • +1

Nah but this deal is more reliable 😂😂🤣

      • +1

If you would pay $75 extra for reliability, why don't you just get a PayPal account and then you can get free reliability with anyone who accepts it…..

  • +7

I have Windows 10 Home and I desperately want to go back to Windows 7.
The constant updates and changes to default programs in settings is ridiculous!

    • +1

Thats a sign you are getting old.

      • +3

That’s the sign software is crap. :)

  • I bought one for $15 second year still working fine.. dont know how this is more legit..

    • Not more legit, I just trust this site with my credit card details.

      • Well 2years and no cc problems either. But i guess thats worth $75 difference.. even if this deal.is dodgy too

        • Its not dodgy, sheesh. Its the buyers responsibilty to buy OEM only for a new build, but it is motherboard locked anyway. You only need to upgrade the motherboard for it to be considered a new pc build. I have had my credit card frozen because of dodgy transactions, thankfully Commbank is as suss as me and didnt release the funds (culprit Deal of the day).

        • @stormii: so OEM from retailers is over $200 these guys can sell over half the price, screams dodgy to me !

        • @solidussnake: Screams markup to me.

        • @stormii: i can tell you staff is not even close to this price.. unless you have worked in retail ??

        • @stormii: If you are scared about your credit card details, there is a free thing called PayPal, that doesn't hand out your details and most key sites use.

  • +3

Why would you bother, this is so expensive, just buy it from here https://www.gamivo.com/product/windows-10-professional-oem for $13 and buy the sheild, if you are still scared, there is a thing called PayPal….!!!

  • The link now shows $299. Looks expired to me, unless I missed something?

    • Yep it expired. Updated.
