    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-SRS-XB30-Extra-Bass-Portabl…

Have been keeping an eye of this

This one has gone from 140/150 to 162.99

    Price Jack!

    • +3

'View all revisions' will show that price has not changed since 21 Dec, and all the qty sold in sold history also at the price.

      • Hmm really. I ve been keeping an eye on all avail stock and it never showed up…
        Oh well

        • I think he was just telling his friend Jack what the price was with increased inclination.

  • Everyone is worried about jacking…

Why not purchase/commit to buy before the sale, and process payment during the sale.

    It’s worked in the past..

    • +1

In my experience prices in cart will change if original price is modified

      • Cart is different than actually committing to buy.

Same as at Woolworths, walking around with groceries in cart, pricing could change, once it’s scanned and your getting your money out to pay, pricing is fixed.

If the store doesn’t force you to instant pay, you could work around the price jack.. I’m sure I’ve had experience with instant pay and was able to save for later.:

      • Add to cart & Buy it now … are different ?

    • The shops require immediate payment

  • Any good budget headphones on sale? (<$100)

  • Any1 know if there is a good deal on xbox one s ?
My mate has 4k tv and is just requiring it for UHD disc player. He is looking cheapest option just the console to play 4k discs, ie. Cheapest option for buying xbox one s, then selling whatever games come with it, and selling conrtoller.

    • FYI your mate will need the controller to use as remote

      • Thanks very much for the info.
. I ended up finding him a 4k player for $250 at store which I have credit to use up (so im letting him have it for $200).
Apparently, from what i have read online, the xbox one s is a very poor UHD disc player, so my friend is happier to get a exclusive 4k disc player.
Personally, I think the xbox one s is still best value, because its a gaming system and a player.

  • Any good deals on a 4TB external that would do well added as an external on a PS4?

    • Can any portable external drives be formated and used for PS4 Pro?
If so, there are some 2TB drives for around $80 (JB & another store).

  • Any good deals on PS4 Pro or PS4 Pro bundles? Missed the Amazon deal a couple of weeks ago at $399 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/348326

  • Has anyone had any success price matching Ebay % off deals in store? Videopro have the Hisense 75N7 for $3486 ($2788 after discount). I'd rather purchase at JB hifi or Harveys.

  • +2

    Any bargains for ddr4 Ram?

    • I'm spewing missed out the on the trident z rgb 16gb ram yesterday hoping they are on the 20% sale il pick that up and a gtx 1080ti

      • +1

Lol ye i was at checkout then couldn't place order coz it was sold out :/

  • Please let me see a a non inflated price for 16GB RAM DDR4 and either an i5 or i7 nonK intel 8 chip - pretty please to any seller - Last time they were out of stock during the sale…..hmmmmmm…I'll promise to name my next child after your store "Hey what's your little son's name - well sir, this is little Austin Futu"

  • Any one know if any shops have Samsung s8+ in stock with 20% code?

  • -1

Yes! Will there be gtx 1080ti's for $850 again?

    • No. $950+ at the very minimum :(

  • All prices are jacked up on PC parts anyway. Much cheaper buying from an online retailer

  • -1

Does it include iPhones on AllPhones site? They have jacked up the price but with 20% and free delivery it would be cheaper than the Apple store…

  • Having trouble using the search links.. Can anyone see if there is any Oppo pm-3 Headphones in the sale?

  • how can I search for products. can't see a search bar there.

anyone know if there is any
    gtx 1070
    gtx 1080
    gtx 1080 ti

    and what price.

    • The search link is in the description under the code.

    • 1080's went up in price overnight…. imagine that.

  • Desperately want to get a Philips XXL Airfryer HD9651 or HD9630. Please post if anyone knows there is a good deal. Thanks a lot! :)

    • Don’t bother getting a Phillips, we got a no name brand from eBay for under $100 a year ago and still going strong. Works great we use it all the time. Just make sure you get a large capacity one.

  • -1

Someone please post if they find cheap gtx 1080ti il love you

      • +1

try maths again - they bumped price to $1,309.85

        • +9

I know (my maths was right before they jacked their prices), I had several things on my watch list from Austincomputers that were bumped up this morning. SHAME ON AUSTINCOMPUTERS - guess I'll just buy what I wanted from somewhere else.

Edit: Look at the purchase history - 13th of Jan and one sold for $1190 which was 2 days ago.
Edit 2: Sorry just woke up! Instead of me being plain negative I found another 1080ti card for about $950 as well for those who are looking:
          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/INNO3D-GeForce-GTX-1080-Ti-Twin-…

        • +6

@watty: They started bumping prices last night. overnight some more were bumped in my watch list.

Won't be buying from them anymore. Bought some stuff before from then, wont be buying from them ever again

        • @lplau: a gtx1080ti strix is now bumped to $1,600 what a joke!

        • +1

          @nnolan:
going to file an ACCC complaint for once and lets where it takes us

          edit:
report done man ACCC need more than 1500 letter descriptions limit.

        • @watty: And the 2nd card had a price jack as well lol.

        • @watty: A ton of 1080ti's were also removed altogether. Once you take away all the price jacked ones and removed cards, you aren't left with many options. Mainly from unreputable sellers where warranty is unclear (from new zealand etc.)

(jw removed all their graphics cards from being listed)

        • +1

@watty: Just reported ACCC for Austin myself. I dont normally do this kind of thing, but so sick of it already.

        • @Stealthzor:

Just curious, what reasons did you provide to the ACCC to complain?

  • Any of these sell refurbished machines? Looking for a first computer for my ten year old son.

  • Search Kindle, only two availale.

  • +2

I propose a new "Potential Deal" flair for all the ebay code posts, as the site will be a graveyard of expired deals if/when the prices go up :D

  • Wouldn't mind a big micro SD card on sale, 64 or 128GB would be good.

  • +1

Austin Computers already price jacked their GPU's. was looking at the 1080 and 1070. most of them up by $50-100.

  • +7

Yup Austin Computers price jack across the board, JW Computers are notorious for this also. I refuse to buy from these asshats.

    • jw just straight up removed stuff from being sold

  • +5

Shopping Express also jacking up a few of their items. One less place to shop from!

    • +1

      Yep can confirm

  • Anyone have a recommendation for the best laptop on the list for under 2k, purely for gaming?

I saw in another post the Dell Inspiron i7 which is the current front runner for me

  • +1

Austin Computers just jacked the price of the speakers I was looking at by $20.

  • +1

How's Mediaform's track record with eBay sales?

Are they likely to drop free shipping and put the price up on the printer I want?

    • Just so everyone knows. Mediaform did not up the price of the printer.

It was the Lexmark CX410DE and on other sites it was ~$360 + delivery, they had it listed for $320 including delivery. I got it for $256 delivered with the coupon.

  • Hi,
Could anyone recommend a simple/basic motherboard for an intel i5 7th generation processor and RAM, for home use, email/facebook/words/powerpoint/backup photos. No gaming at all. Preferably around $80 for MB. Definitely no more than $100 MB. Thank you.

    • Buy a recycled Optiplex with an SSD in it, spend around 300-350 (when on sale).

You will get a good computer with fast processor, ready to go, for less than the price of a CPU and ram, let alone those plus RAM, HDD, operating system, case, power supply, assembly fee (or your time in getting it together and working).

For Home use with no gaming, these are by far the best value.

Just tried the code on Shopping Square. It's not accepted. Dodgy Shopping Square

    • +1

codes not active till tomorrow maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate

  • +1

@watty Yeah, not impressed with Shopping Express now.
I was watching the Seagate Ironwolf 6TB at $270 which has just been jacked to $309, so after 20% will only work out marginally cheaper than the current normal price in their own online-store.

    • +2

Yup might want to add Digitalstaronline to the shame list as well.

      • Their Samsung Galaxy Book went from $1499 to $1723 today.

    • They also jacked up the price of the samsung evo 850 ssd. was watching yesterday 1tb was $408 yesterday, today jacked up to $459 ready for tomorrows sale

  • Many of the items that I've been watching were jacked today. Jacked up to a point where I'm not even going to bother.

  • +1 to price jackings.
Items I've been eyeing have increased significantly

  • Yup item I was hoping to buy just jacked up like this arvo. What a pointless sales

  • Yep, price hike on the i7 8700k from Digital Star, it was $589 last night, $677 today.

    Thanks ebay

Price jacking all right. TCL 60" at Videopro, 995 yesterday, 1295 today. $41 higher with 20% off.

  • gtx 1080ti strix now bumped to $1600

  • +5

Shopping-express-clearance have jacked the 1070 Ti from $749 to $799 this evening.
I reported it to the ACCC.

Will the outcome of these ACCC reports be good?
There are some real gems in these sales, what if the ACCC totally nukes it and we lose those gems?
We might, but it's worth it in my opinion.
Non-ozbargainers are being deceived as buyers.
Further, the more these sellers get away with it, the fewer real bargains will exist.
I say let the ACCC rip it down, there's little to be lost at this point.

    • reports dont take long hey

    • They also bumped the price of the MSI 1080ti $60 from a few hours ago. I had the tab open on the page and refreshed, BAM! price increase.

  • digitalstaronline Acer Predator XB271HU was $984 now $1131

    • Yeah, was looking at the same one :(

      • try the XG2703 or the AG271qg

  • Will reporting them even do anything? I think they jack the prices even though they know they're going to get reported they just don't care.

    • +1

Just needs enough people to report them, and then ACCC will hopefully get involved and impose a massive fine like they did to Kogan.

      • While it's a positive that Kogan got that fine, $32k is hardly massive when it comes to a business of the size of Kogan.

  • An emerging thread on Whirlpool about Videopro price-jacking:
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2697532

    • +1

Full of morons that defend illegal actions.

  • I have been watching LG 34UC99-W monitor and had it in my cart from Shopping Express Clearance on eBay for $1235.

They increased the price to $1349 (I think sometime yesterday).

  • +1

Some of the stuff are sold from unresponsive new zealand sellers where warranty is likely not to be honoured. Beware.

    • +1

Yep, Future Gear is one of them.

      • Just bought my EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 from FutureGear and it was paid to PBTECH (a reputable New Zealand tech retailer) so you can atleast go to them directly to chase them up on issues.

  • Any good laptop to recommend for business purposes, heavy browsing and monitoring as it is intended for crypto/stock market trading. I plan to connect to spare monitors.

Maybe around or less than 1k ?

  • +2

thanks for the ACCC report form link. I reported a few retailers like a grumpy old man, this is ridiculous.

    • mate u did well i will do another soon

  • +1

Dell has jacked a few items, reporting to the ACCC.

  • problem is they can say the items were discounted previously before the sale by say 15%. That discount ended they then went up to normal retail price and then the Ebay 20% sale started. Thats what I got advised last time I questioned the price jump pre "ebay sale".

Net effect is a 5% saving or sometimes the same price.. I doubt the ACCC have time to look into the practice

    • +1

Kogan tried to say that but it didn't work for him lol.

    • What does the ACCC do then if it doesn't have time to do their job? Our taxes shouldn't just sponsor them to sit around.
