Is apple going to sue these guys? :P

The cheapest was AU$9.12 back in October: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/338679

Any chance this can be matched (or lowered)?

    • Already tried…this is the lowest they would go… :(

    • And still handy for my air-con (the only use I´ve made for it so far lol

  • What's new about this model? Looks the same as the previous version to me. Maybe a new chip inside?

  • Went to check out, then it kicked me out, removed all the items from my cart, then when I went back in to add again, it said coupon had been reached :(

  • Is there a list of what these can control? The remote on my 5-year old Marantz AVR is playing up and been looking for a cheap universal remote.

If it uses IR it can control it. You just have to teach it the controls.

      • is it a multi-directional IR transmitter, because i am thinking of getting the Xiaomi one, but my split system air con is on the wall and i can't get this thing in the line of sight of the air con.

Yes, I believe so. I just plonked mine down (no idea which way it's facing) in front of the TV and it works fine with that and the Hifi which close but at a strange angle to it, and the AC which is basically above it and to the side.
The only time it hasn't worked is when there's a physical barrier between it and the device.

        • @NigelTufnel: thanks mate appreciate it, i have a Fujitsu so hopefully the Xiaomi will work with it. and then theoretically with all the gateway crap i have going already, it will turn on the air con when the temp gets too hot inside

@adrianhughes1998: Yeah, I've got my RM connected to Home Assistant and it works really well (although HA need to learn the codes again).
Still waiting on my temp sensor to arrive to hook that up as an automation trigger though. Then I have the windows to worry about though. Probably need more window/door sensors to tell it not to turn the AC on if the windows are open.
          It's quite a rabbit hole…

        • @NigelTufnel: very true. this RM does it work with the Xiaomi mi home stuff or not (guessing it doesn't?). cos sure google assistant can tell it to turn on, but far more useful to me if i can get it to work when temps drop / rise etc.

@adrianhughes1998: Not natively I don't think. I think it only works natively with the Broadlink e-control app.
To get it to work with Xiaomi stuff or with Google Assistant you need to use something like Home Assistant to link it all together.

      • possible to teach it without the original remote control ? (already gone missing)

        • Not that I'm aware of (haven't tried as I've managed to keep all of my remotes). There's no option that I can see where you can just put in the model and it knows the codes like for Harmony remotes.
You'd probably need a universal remote with that function as a bridge so that it can teach the RM the codes initially.
The RM just learns the code and stores it, and then spits out that code when required.

Really hoping for a decent deal on the RM pro so I can control my RF garage door.

    • Same, id like to see a deal on the RM pro 2

      • There is no RM Pro 2, the new 2017 version is called RM Pro +

    • Here you go

      • Thanks @ozsikh , but just missed out, deal is over now :(

  • I can’t get it to learn some buttons on my tv remote :( like, channel up was learned, channel down didn’t, power learned but volume up or down didn’t. Then I got annoyed and gave up.

    • +1

You might have been holding the button down too long. When I use it with the RM bridge app it shows the error codes and often I've held the button down too long.

      • Thanks. I’ll check it out.

  • Thanks, bought 1

  • Still haven't received my package (close to 6 weeks now), anyone else on the same boat ?
