  • Thanks for sharing but man that YouTube proof is kinda odd. Is it native integration? iFTTT?

    • From YT comments" Jacky Cheng. We don't have the details setup and configuration guide. It involve quite a lot steps and configurations to make it perfect to work. That why we provide a pre-setup bridge in our website (www.xxxx.xxx) for non tech savvy user. After you receive the pre-setup bridge, there is still configurations required to link up your house devices."

    • Broadlink doesn't have direct integration with Google Home.

Watch this video and and Follow this guide for comprehensive instructions on how to do this:

      • Google Home won't work with the Pro as neither the RM Bridge or plugin can send the correct commands. The devs have asked Broadlink but no update.

        • -1

how about the normal version without RF ?

        • Thanks for clarifying

        • @OzSikh:

Yes, I have Broadlink Mini/Broadbean and that works fine. The codes to use the RM Bridge can be generated here. Type can only be RM1 or RM2. RM2 is for the Mini however the pro is another type.

There is a discussion on this forum as it also affects Alexa.

        • @neil: may be it changes down in the future for pro version

        • @neil: Seems like It is now possible to control RM Pro version directly with GM without the need of a bridge, there are heaps of videos on YouTube and this is one of them https://youtu.be/RoJHFzh971U

        • +1

          @OzSikh:

Yes, cheers. Saw in the new deal. So much easier to not have to run the RM bridge on a spare phone.

  • I'm a noob. Can I use this to control my RF blinds and ceiling fans from a mobile app? I don't have google home, alexa, shaza etc

    • yes, you can using an app on your phone from anywhere in the world

      • SOLD!!! So I can program the RF stuff via a learning function from my existing remote?

        • +1

          that's exactly right

    • +3

I have RF shutters. The app has a timer function so you can open/close at certain times/days. Also can be activated when upon reaching a temperature.

      • beginning to like this more and more for a $20 gizmo.

  • Will it work for garage door? My one is really old and cost over $100 to get a replacement.

    • Should do if it's pretty old. Newer ones have rolling codes which are harder

      • +2

        harder impossible

      • At least 20 years old.

    • If you can post a photo of your original remote (can be one you find online), some of us here might be able to let you know if it'll work.

      • its B&D Control A Door MPC1,if its MPC2,there are cheap ones around.

        • Which one is it? MPC1 definitely won't work, it runs on 27MHz. MPC2 is a fixed-code UHF remote so it has a good chance of working with this Broadlink.

        • @eug: yeah, it's MPC1, there is no luck getting a cheap replacement.

        • +1

@slackme: Ahh ok… If you're handy, you can add on a UHF receiver like this one and get some non-rolling remotes.

Or you could get a wifi module like this that allows app control directly.

        • @eug: Thanks, looks like too much trouble.

        • @eug: Would love to know if anyone has confirmed this, I'm thinking of buying one just for my MPC2.

      • How do you find out? I'm curious, i have a gliderol with remote TM-305C.

        • +1

Easy, just google for the garage door's programming/pairing instructions and see if any DIP switches are involved. :)
Your TM-305C is a rolling code remote, so this won't work.

    • +1

Open the remote and if it has 10 little DIP switches, it is fixed code and genetic replacement remotes are on eBay for under$10 including battery.

      • Will it work with Merlin?

        http://m.gomerlin.com.au/#roller

        • If it's any one of those remotes listed there, then nope.

I reckon no garage door remote from the last 15+ years would work. The most common rolling code technology used (Keeloq) was invented in the 80s and was probably cheap enough to be widespread by the early 00s.

      • There are dip switches but none of ebay ones works for the model.

    • Rather than getting a remote what if you look at hard wiring something to the door to trigger it & use that remotely? Might end up being cheaper.

      • Thanks, I was thinking the same thing.

  • I can't seem to select AU power adapter, the only option is EU

    • +1

If its like the other broadlink devices I've got, it uses a micro usb cable, so you can use a power brick from an old phone or other usb based charging device. That said, I don't have this exact product, so ymmv.
Edit: the photos on the litb site look like a standard micro usb charging cable

    • +1

Do you really need one? Most houses are littered with unused power supplies of this nature.

      • Mine is powered by the usb port on my monitor, which provides power even in sleep mode.

        • yeah that's one way to minimise the potentially dozen or so 'phone chargers' plugged in everywhere

  • +5

Not even sure if I can use this with my evap cooling. But bought it anyway.

Good product. Mine is running a bunch of blinds and rf power points

    • What brand blinds are they? thanks

      • Moda

On the 433 MHz Band, so it didn’t matter that it was an uncommon brand

  • i am using it and it keeps deleting my garage door code. Have to re-learn again and again. Don't know the reason.
Working fine with RF power points though. Only garage door code has issues.

    • +1

must be due to rolling code on garage door remotes

      • What does that mean? never heard of this before? Can you please explain

        • +1

It's a security feature that automatically changes the code on a regular basis. May be it can be disabled but I don't much about roller doors. I'm sure you can find it in the manual.

        • @gimme:
Thanks mate. you are a legend.

  • Can i use this to turn on ac remotely (not wifi) ?

I have the small broadlink that only works with wifi

    Thanks

    • The small Broadlink (RM mini) can be controlled remotely. you need to enable it in the setting. It is disabled by default.

      0

      • mine is RM Mini 3, how do you enable it?

        Got a link?

      • there'a link but it's 404

Why I cannot remotely control my devices via 3G/4G network?

        A25:
Powered by BroadLink Cloud service, users can remotely control their devices via external networks (3G/4G/other WLAN) even they are not at home.

The Android APP version above 3.4.9 and iOS APP version above 2.4.7 improved the performance of remote control from external networks. However, users are required to setup the correct region and also update the product firmware, otherwise remote control from external networks may be not available.

Please download the service accouchement file to learn how to update APP and firmware to support this feature:

        http://www.ibroadlink.com/en/app_update.pdf

my android app version is 3.1
and firmware for rm mini is v20029 (27/7/17)

      • nvm. somehow after firmware upgrade, i can see cloud symbol instead of wifi symbol on rm mini.

and it works with 4g connection :)

        thanks!

        didn't know that :)

    • +1

If your AC has a remote, typically yes it can be learnt by this device

  • My gate remotes use rolling codes. However, you can change the setting in the control panel to allow/not allow remotes to learn from each other. So if I turn that to 'allow' I should be able to use this to control it right?

    • +1

I have a feeling the setting you're talking about is to allow or disallow enrolment from an existing remote. Some remotes like the ATA PTX4 and PTX5 have a hidden 'enrol' button in the middle of the grey buttons.

If your receiver supports it and it's enabled, instead of climbing up to your receiver and pressing the enrol/learn button, you can press the little button on the remote with a paperclip to tell the receiver to learn a new remote.

It won't help in this case though, since the Broadlink device does not support Keeloq.

    • +1

I don't think it will work."Learning" for other remotes is they understand the rolling code logic the garage uses and send the right code every time.

For RF pro+, learning is receiving the code once and using it again and again.

      • I have got Avanti Garage Opener T Series installed in my garage. Can somebody please tell me how to disable rolling code on this model?
i could not see any option in the manual.

        • You can't disable the rolling code feature unfortunately.

        • @eug:
So any other way to use RF code learn function on RM PRO?

        • @mady123: Not for rolling code remotes.

        • @eug:

After bit of research i have found a solution to use this universal learning RM Pro+ with rolling code garage opener. Simple solution is to install another fix code universal receiver with existing garage opener. Avanti opener has an option to attach 3rd party receiver so that receiver can be controlled by this Universal RM Pro+ and your normal remotes will still works on rolling code method.

I have ordered a receiver now. Will update once i get this project done.

        • @mady123: Yup, that's what I mentioned above. :)

        • @eug: Oh Great. somehow i missed your comment above. Wifi module is good too. but i will have to supply external 5v to it as my opener output is 24v.

        • +1

@mady123: Ahh, it's east to miss posts when there's a sea of text. :)

You can use a dashcam hardwire kit like this. You can do a cut-and-join job to shorten the cable.

  • Thanks - decided to grab one and give it a try

  • Nice! Just ordered one, was about to buy the smaller RM 3 mini. Hopefully it works with roller door(probably wont) but aircon and tv is good enough. Supports amazon echo/alexa is a bonus too since that is coming here.

  • Damn.. Good Deal..

Just bought this in combination with the mini from a local seller for $68 (5% off eBay) from https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Broadlink-RM-Pro-mini-3-… and will get it within a weeks time hopefully..

Not sure if the LITB version is RM03 which is better hardware for range and latest one..

    Whats the remote like ?

    • It has no remote. Controlled via app

  • Hope to see more special coupon for this and i will get one…..or two.

  • 👍🏽

  • got this today, pretty rubbish really for RF stuff which is what I needed it for. Seems to find the frequency but unable to add buttons. I don't even need Alexa or anything complicated. Just to control some blinds and a fan. The app is pretty basic too. It's going in the drawer with some of the other impulse buy junk I've collected over the years.

    • Which app are you using? I've had no issues adding RF devices.

  • (Android) I tried the IHC (Intelligent Home Center) one from the instructions/website and also tried e-control. IHC got a little bit further but still no luck learning buttons. Funny thing about IHC is that when you click on 'curtains' it doesn't even bring up a list of manufacturers so not sure why they even have the category there. Tried manually adding/learning but as above no luck.

    • +2

For IHC, you need to click through the RM Pro in the app, then add device, User Defined, +, Scan Frequency. Press any button on your remote, should pick up RF and say Scan frequency sucessfully, Do you want to start learning?. Press OK.

That's what worked for me. Make sure you are doing the remote learning near the box. Forget about all the curtains or other presets, those are useless. I've only used TV, Air Conditioner and User Defined (fans, roller shutter).

      • Yup that's what I did at the end. It said 'scan freq successfully' but couldn't add any more buttons after that, only added the button I had used for the scan.

        • That's strange. So you can only add one button per device? I suppose you can just have an appliance for each button (shutter up, shutter down, stop).

        • @neil:

lol yeah good out of the box thinking… I like it!!
