    It's not clear whether it's $9.95/3 months or $9.95/month for three months… https://www.mydeal.com.au/vaya isn't much clearer.

"Please allow until Tuesday 30th January to redeem your offer" - a bit Chinglish, not sure whether that means offer needs to be redeemed by 30 Jan or whether you have to wait until 30th Jan.. ?

    • It appears to be $9.95 for the 3 months as they say it is normally $72 and now only $9.95.

      • Ah, good pickup - you mean the "RRP $72" thing, right?

        • yep. Title fixed to make more sense.

    • Looks like there is <24hrs before the deal ends and you can redeem it between 30 Jan and 9 Feb.

  • I'm in two mindsets about this.
    a) It's only $3.32 a month for 3 months of unlimited talk/text and 3GB data!!
    b) It's vaya, I'll probably have had enough of them by the first month - is my sanity worth $3.32 a month?

Does anyone have an honest vaya review? Heard nothing but bad things about them except from the people who were sponsored to have good reviews.

Looking at comments on forums.whirlpool.net.au, people seem to have issues cancelling their account - not the best if you just want to use this for 3 months and then cancel…

      • Yeah that kind of thing is exactly what I'm wary is going to happen if I take up a three month deal…

    • Difficult to monitor data due to 48 hour delay and if you exceed the allowance by any amount it willl cost $10. You’ll need to phone or live chat to cancel.

      • It won't be a problem monitoring data as I can set my phone to automatically limit me at 3GB. Live chat to cancel doesn't seem so bad, I guess?

    • i've had no issues with vaya.
been with them for >6 years and all is fine with me. i've personally not had a problem with them overcharging on my main account. But when i signed up to their groupon deals last year they got something wrong but was rectified very quickly. if they overcharge u, just live chat them and they'll give u credit back.

  • Does Vaya has a good customer service?

Is it easy to port in and port out?

    Thanks

      No, they do not.

Took 4 days in my case to port out from optus network.

    • their live chat is great. did everything i asked of them.

If I'm already with Vaya, would this work if I port out to a shitty sim and then port back into this deal? Or is this for 1st time Vaya users only?

    • I'm already with Vaya would this work if I port out to a shitty sim

Well, at least you don't have to port out to be on a 'shitty sim' :P

    • I want to know this too.
My kids are currently on Vaya - can I get this deal for them? And what happens at the end of the 3 months?

  • Does Vaya charge port out fee?

  • +2

Don't redeem before 1 Feb otherwise you will lose 1 month.

    • I had to do that for December, my account has a 'credit' of $12, doubt they'd put it back on my card lol

    • You can order the SIM before then, which triggers the first coupon month as a deposit, but given it's a pre-paid plan, this makes no difference.

      • It's a post-paid plan

        • In terms of what to enter when you transfer your number? Perhaps.

In reality? It's not, nor is the phrase used anywhere on their website because your final bill will have been paid by your previous direct debit deduction.

Critical Information Summary for this plan

Again, let me state for the record that your original comment is 100% wrong, and I am speaking from experience. Ordering your SIM uses a coupon month as a deposit no matter when you order it, but it is simply held as a deposit and thus pays for the final bill in advance. You're also partially credited if you manage to sign up at the end of a calendar month, but this would of course lead to you incurring a small percentage of the normal monthly cost when your coupon months run out.

        • @jasswolf:
Based on my experience, I redeemed my coupon on 31/12 then received an invoice on 1/1 for the period 1/12 to 31/12. Now I have 3 of 4 months left.

        • @jackofspade: I had the same thing happen to me when I ordered a SIM at the end of November, and like the CIS clearly says, you are paying in advance. Read the billing section in the link I provided.

        • @jasswolf:
Did you get an adjustment on your 2nd invoice?

        • @jasswolf:
It's now 23/1 and I still haven't receive the 2nd adjustment credit that you got for $15.

        • @jackofspade: start up a live chat and see what's happened; they have a pretty basic invoicing system by their own admission.

    Try Kogan mobile.

    • For Vodafone service that is inadequate at the best of times.
Kogan is the best on Vodafone, but lots of people (me included) have trouble with their coverage.

      • I have found it to be better than woolworths (teslstra b grade) mobile for some reason.

        • Some people love Kogan and Vodafone reception. I mean, they must be doing something right or they wouldn't be there.
Doesn't work well for me though.

  • Seems like a tight activation window. Activate between 30th Jan and 2nd of Feb?

  • Vaya has terrible customer service and in some cases they scammers.

Would highly recommend to NOT go with Vaya.

    • OP joined 15/01/18 FYI

      • The OP has been marked as "Associated", so joining to post is not really and issue.

I've been with Vaya for many years.

I've never had any service issues with them.

I do usually have on average one billing issue a year, stemming from my card being declined. It's generally Citibanks fault each time, but no idea why this happens, and only to Vaya…

A quick chat via facebook messenger has always fixed things up easily the last few years.

Vaya were much worse to deal with around the time they took over Live Connected, but I feel things have improved greatly since then.
