Google Home - $132 Delivered from DWI via Catch (HK)

31

Wanted to buy a GH and noticed that there were no real deals for them at the moment.

YMMV as this is a grey import - just went in to OW and got them to price beat. Went pretty smoothly. Hope others can benefit.

    If combined with This Deal the price should end up being $122 Delivered

    No Guarantees though - I haven't tried it myself

    • Yep it works, and if it wasn't for the deal you mentioned, it would've been cheaper through DWI for $122.55 with the code 'PREAUD'. It's even listed at a cheaper price for $129.

      • Also $121 Delivered @ Shopmonk :)

        • Yep just noticed that below :) It's just that the one on Catch is being sold and delivered by DWI, so it would've better to order from their website instead. How reliable are shopmonk though? Saw an earlier comment so wasn't sure

          @stuhtb:

          Yeah I don’t think they’re reliable, just a cheaper option lol, wouldn’t go for either though as Aus stock will be as cheap as that soon again..

          @doweyy: Agree, local stock has been as low as $102 before, with Amazon releasing it's smart assistant in Feb, I'm sure Google will have some sort of response to the competition

      • dont forget the 2.5% cashback with cashrewards! the total is effectively $118.5 here

        • +1

          Just be aware that cashback may not be payable if you use a coupon code that is not listed on CR, even if you get a tracking email from CR;

          Please Note: Rewards are NOT payable when using any coupon code/s not listed on Cashrewards.

        • @stuhtb: Ah interesting, disregard my previous comments. My cashrewards haven't had any issues tracking coupons even with honey extension adding random working coupon codes so I wasn't aware of this. Thanks stuhtb

    Officeworks price matching a grey import from a foreign overseas seller?. Did the Officeworks employees even know that it was a grey import. I bet if they knew they wouldn't price match that. I think they made a mistake. It's not Catch selling this but a foreign marketplace seller DWI International and a grey import international model.

    OP got lucky there by an OW employees mistake.

      Maybe it was an error.

      Of course it makes perfect sense for me to make up a story about a deal, then post it for others, only for them to fail miserably at the store…😒

      • Yes it was obviously an error. As the price match policy would specifically exclude grey import stock. Well you never know, either you get lucky and the local OW store accepts it or not. But it would all be a mistake by the employee.

        • Thanks for editing your comment after I commented.

      Also a grey import international model that's shipped from an overseas seller called Shopmonk. There's nothing Australian about that online store.

    • seems to be cheaper there but if you account for the $10 off deal they have now + cashrewards its effectively $118.50 here

    • Most of shopmonks goods are a grey import (phones, electronics etc)

    Are peoples seriously expecting Officeworks to price match against foreign overseas sellers that's shipping grey import international model stock from overseas?. It's only a case that the OP got lucky by a store employee making a mistake that mistook it for a sale by Catch themselves when it's really sold by DWI International. A known overseas based business.

    • i have seen officeworks not matching msy lol so yeah gl getting them pricematch catch or shopmonk

      • Yeah it's really weird. Some employees stuff up from time to time so some buyers do get lucky from mistakes like how the OP got lucky. And also it's DWI International or Shopmonk they are trying to price match here which are both completely overseas businesses with no presence in Australia at all. Catch themselves are not selling this, it's a marketplace seller with no Australian presence. Sort of like how there's foreign seller marketplace sellers on Amazon. That's all i have to say now on the matter. People can take whatever they like from that.
