ok, i suppose you can decide if this is a bargain

while i was scrambling for the ps3 deal today at Toys r us, one staff was holding a DS lite while i asked for pricing of other consoles, she simply asked if i wanted the last one at the store, for 50$, i asked twice as i couldnt believe the price, so i bought it, i didnt ask why theyre so cheap or anything, i could see the 120gb ps3 as clearance stock but DS lite? anyways receipt for you guys to try to P/M, mods delete if you feel its not bargain.

      I still see a lot of stores selling it for 199.95… The cheapest I've seen it at retail stores is 99.95, and that's second hand at GAME. However, I will try tomorrow morning.

    Pretty sure this item was sold as a clearance item as there was only 1 left as stated. They wouldnt be selling these units for $49.95 whilst they are retailing for $199.00 in other stores. But you can always try.

    Just checked at Bankstown, all sold out and there was one pink left on hold.Indeed, they were going at 50 dollars. Register girl seemed surprised that they were all gone, saying that there were dozens a day or two before. I can't believe it, I missed out on two great deals :(
    There were still some PS2's though (3 left), but I didn't need another one.

        I also tried price matching JB, David Jones, Target, and Kmart and yet they wouldn't budge. Their excuses were:

        K-mart: We don't price match clearance items.
        JB: You must be dreaming.
        David Jones and Target: No Way!!!

        All of them didn't even check to see if Toy's R Us had any stock - which of coarse there was none, but I wish they put a bit more effort though.

        Oh well… better luck next time.

      Doesn't surprise me, Harvey Normans customer service is rubbish. A few months ago I called them up to see if they would pricematch their own xbox 360 deal from another HN store and the guy on the phone said they're all sold out of that particular bundle. I walked in their store the next day and there was a whole pile of them on the floor with a big sign advertising them.

      I managed a price match twice on the 9th, I don't think that it will work anymore though, apparently it was a "one day offer"; the third time I tried it the sales assistant called Toys R Us and that's what they were told… sorry!

        the girlfriend here - no point in posting the receipt, we tried again later at a different store, they called up to confirm the price, and apparently it was only a one day offer at Toys R Us. It was still the same day, so I don't know what changed, but oh well! One each for the boyfriend and I, can't complain :)

    sigh The good bargains disappear so quickly. And it's all because the bargain hunters that buy in bulk for profit while the averag Joe that actually wants to own and enjoy the product never gets anything. Obviously, I don't see how this could change, but still, it´s frustrating.

    i got 3 yesterday from Big W… (priced match)
    they were not happy :)
    they were talking soo loud about it being $50,
    when i finished paying i told him there's going to be a riot bcoz everyone heard lol
    i left and when i looked back they "customers" were yelling at the staff.
    i found out be my friend that "Big W" said they can't do it anymore and that "I" should not have gotten them…
    very lucky i was.
    i tried a few other store's (jb, dicksmith, harvey norman, target, kmart) they told me im dreaming and that it is 85% under cost price..

    sooo. dont know if you guys still wanna try, we looked for the dumbest looking kid and won.
