      • A customer return or DOA unit (unlikely).
Sony would NEVER let a 2nd. out of its factory neither would any reputable brand!

        • Haha my experience and plenty of others would say otherwise.

    • Usually perfect, just repack or sold under this to ensure it doesn't interfere with resellers. I grabbed an 85" last October and happy.
Can be issue around banding stripes. 75" is a bargain. Jump on that.

Don't waste your money on the x9000h series of TV if you're getting it for ps5 120hz/4k. Sony are as useless as the TV.

      • How come? Mind explain?

        • +2

          https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/comments/ksnj38/x900h_curren…

My issues have been at 4k 120hz there is a noticeable drop in resolution (loss of crispness in lines most visible in text) as well as no sound when powering on from ps5 90% of the time which requires me to reset the TV from the remote (powering on/off alone won't fix)

Add to that Sony's pathetic customer service (flat out lie to you - oh we have escalated it we will have our senior tech get back to you in 24-48hrs - got the same response three times when asking when this tech was going to contact me. That was over a month ago)

Sony was aware of the resolution issue and promised a fix then their fix didn't address it and now they act like its not a problem.

My advice if going for a ps5 screen is give this a miss

      • Sony made the TV and PlayStation

        • +6

That's why I went with Sony and I was sorely disappointed

    • 9500 worth the upgrade?

    • Sony are hanging on, but the koreans are killing them, wonder how long before they exit the TV market?

    • Just giving everyone a heads up as it need sto be flagged.

Couple of us including myself brought one of these and the TV was clearly a refurbished TV, however that is not the issue but rather the panel was cracked, panel coming again from the bezel and TV doesnt book at all. Dealing with ebay sony directly only is a nightmare

And unlike Dell's SFF, HP's SFF PCIe slot can accommodate double width graphics card.

I bought an 11th Gen and 16Gb RAM Slim 7i carbon for $988 (from officeworks via previous ozbargain) .. why is this any good for $1011 with older chipset?

      Weight about 970g.

    • +8

This deal is overpriced for an Intel CPU that is a generation old and only a quad-core. 256GB SSD are now available on entry level products in the $700 price range. It should have a minimum of 512GB SSD.

Refer to this deals as an example with a more powerful CPU and RAM that can be upgraded:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/637349

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/637324

Intel CPUs are now up to 11th gen. However they are outpaced, especially in multi-core workloads by AMD 4000 and 5000 series Ryzen CPUs.

You can see that this CPU now sits almost at the bottom in terms of overall performance if you look at the reputable Passmark site with a score of 6938. AMD's, now previous generation, Ryzen R5 4500U, mid-tier CPU, scores 11,233.

      https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-10510…

If you want to look at alternative deals for aluminum chassis based laptop, here is one example of a better deal for $1048.03

      1. Six core AMD Ryzen R5 5600u CPU,
      2. 2.2k 14" IPS display,
      3. 16GB RAM,
      4. 512GB SSD,
      5. Nvidia MX450 2GB GDDR6
      6. All aluminum chassis

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/637014#comment-10740338

The AMD R5 5600u CPU on my post above scores 16278 is Passmark, whilst the Intel i7 10510u only scores on 6938.

Negging someone's deal and using it as a platform to promote your own posts is really bad form. You're losing the plot.

        • +2

That is your opinion. It just happens to be the case that the active deals available at the moment were my posts.

I was focused on posting this deal below, which is better and not posted by me for a business grade laptop, but unfortunately just expired.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/638006

Attacking me personally by saying that I am "losing the plot", when I am trying to help people out with making better buying decisions shows poor form on your part. Unfortunately I believe this personal attack seems to be retaliation for your promotional comments being negged multiple times in my deal posts.

          • -1

@shellshocked: Attacking you? Seriously mate, grow a pair and deal with your inappropriate hijacking of this post. Ugly stuff.

      • The CPU is newer generation Intel, however the chassis is plastic and the screen is a lower quality in relation to your post.

I was so keen to get this model. However comparing side by side with Samsung (70A and 85A) and Hisense U80G in TGG showroom (brighter scene) , feel that Sony is lacking of vibrant a d contrast. Dunno if it is just me. Any opinions? Thanks

    • Just a warning to anyone interested in Sony refurbished goods, it's a bit of a gamble. Some get their TVs in perfect condition while others are not so lucky as in this previous thread.

years ago got expensive speaker, box looks okay inside looks perfect but stop working within first month then went for 3x repair in the next 5 months, failing again they insisted to repair (for the 4th time !!!)
        i said no please refund
        they refuse
        i went to ACCC
        Sony refunded

no more.. the darkest 6 months in my life i will never get back - the phone calls, arrange pickup, arrange to stay at home for pickup/delivery back….

      • Yup, it's definitely a gamble. I ordered an A7 camera which looked completely mint in the original box and individual plastic wrapping. On the other hand a Bluray player looked like it was used with scratches on the top. It worked fine though.

      • ASUS ROG 5 has an ESS Sabre ES9280AC Pro Quad DAC and headphone jack. Patiently waiting on a deal, but the retail price looks better if you take off $190.

    • +6

Wow that's a lot of money for a USB C to 3.5mm audio with DAC.

I got this instead for just over $5:

      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08L7Q6DK4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_g…

It was one of the few adaptor that worked with my galaxy note 10 plus. I believe the other cheap ones don't have a DAC so are just pin converters/adaptors.

      • I went through several USB C to 3.5mm adaptor when I first got my Essential Phone. In the end it was more convenient to use a bluetooth receiver/transmitter. They helped prolong the life of the headphone cord. (Cord plug into phone, phone in pants pocket, cord get bent and damaged in pants pocket.)

I went through several bluetooth receiver/transmitter. Currently using the VIKEFON BT-29. It has the best audiochip (CSR8675), connecting as aptX HD so no audio delay but it's missing audio prompt for connection and power off etc…

The BlitzWolf BR0 has the best audio prompt in English (power on, incoming call…) but only connect as SBC so not the best audio quality. There's also a battery indicator bug in the firmware. The battery last long enough but once it's showing 40%, it will drop to zero in under 10 minutes.

I would also recommend the TaoTronics BA08 for audio quality. It only has an older Bluetooth 4.1 chip and the battery does not last as long as advertised. (The parent company has recently been de-listed from Amazon for fake reviews.)

        • Problem for me is that when you game, Bluetooth lags too much.
With my cheap $5 adaptor it works flawlessly.
I do worry about the longevity of plugging USBC in and out though.

Was looking for Kerastase for some inhome lockdown pampering and came across this and wanted to share. They have 60% off, and then there is up to 25% off with buying more. The discount seems to stack assuming the seller will fill the orders.

Seems stupidly cheap given the RRP of $78 (which you can generally find 20-30% off). Unfortunately it just seems to be the Cool Blonde at this price.

    Non-Plus Price: $138.90

Not bad if you desperately need an x570 chipset but bear in mind this only comes with 1 M.2 PCIE slot when most other x570 boards have two.
