Great deal on a WQXGA i7 wt RTX4070 laptop.
    Generally these are $3000+
FHD screens (or WUXGA) $2200-2500 , but QHD screens with 4070 are quite a bit more.
This goes quite bright as well compared to my Aorus XE4 QHD 3070Ti and is a better laptop too.

NOTE: The ad says WUXGA, but its actually a 165hz WQXGA (QHD eq) screen.

    Original Coupon Deal

Was keeping an eye on this watch to update from an ageing Forerunner 235 and came across this deal.

Not the lowest price ever, but the latest Forerunner 265 is available for $629.95 delivered at Wildearth's Ebay (with the Ebay plus coupon code) and $679.95 without.
    Only available in black.

    • Oddly, when I go the page it says the coupon is HGTSEP as opposed to SEPHGT. What games is eBay playing?

      • You might be right, there are two active coupons and I might have picked the wrong one.

Why not get one of the more expensive fenix or epix models that have come down significantly in price - like the previous version of the fenix? Is this significantly lighter or more comfortable?

I've got a 945 forerunner and its still going well but wondering which way to go in a couple of years when it eventually dies on me. I like the look of the fenix but would be good to hear if people like running with them etc as cant really get a good sense of it trying it on for a few minutes.

      • True, the Fenix and Epix are both excellent watches that come with a lot of features. However, I tried them and found them to be a bit bulky for my use case which is exclusively running.

Rebel currently have the Forerunner 955 on sale for $599 (black). If you don't want/like/need an AMOLED screen (which I personally didn't want) I think it's a better buy than the 265. Much lighter than a Fenix for almost half the price, cheaper than the 265 with more features - maps were what I wanted.

      https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-forerunner-955-watch-…

After reading lots of reviews I was a bit worried it would be too big but I tried one on in store and it was practically the same as my 235 so I bought it and couldn't be happier. I used the Woolworths 10% off Rebel gift cards to bring it down to $540 but even at $599 I think it's a good deal.

New eBay seller, so I purchased one for a test run. It arrived in good condition, sealed and in its original packaging. I decided to get a second one and just realised that it's shipped directly from Ecosa themselves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If they happen to run out of stock, just shoot the seller a message. Usually, they restock a few.

Hope this info comes in handy for someone

    • Only 7 feedback and 2 of those saying they received fake items.
      Pass. But thank you.

      • Yep I also saw that before buying, hence my test run. But I did received 2 genuine pillows. YMMV

    • +1

Given it's not in retail box and skin only this is most likely from a broken up kit where the seller has bought a Makita kit and is selling the individual components to make a few more $$$. The issue is I believe you are at the mercy of the seller for warranty if anything goes wrong as Makita etc won't honor the warranty without the original receipt from the kit.

      • +3

It's on this site from a power tool store for $10 cheaper, great if you can get Bunnings to price beat.
        Will end up being $161.10.

        • The real MVP

Brand New Makita DHP486Z Brushless Drill
            Depth Gauge
            Side Handle
            Belt Clip
            Instruction Manual

          • @Timfoo: z is the Bunnings model number to prevent you from price matching.

            • @ca6leguy: No, Z means skin only. They are both the Z model (because no battery) if you read the description on the National Power Tools site:

Brand New Makita DHP486Z Brushless Drill

I still don't think Bunnings will price match, though, because it's not official Makita warranty.

          • @Timfoo: It has the Z further down in what's included.
steveco123 is correct, if the warranty period is different Bunnings they won't price match.

          • @Timfoo: Z means "skin only*.

    • +1

No warranty. As far as I'm aware, there are no official retailers selling power tools on ebay and thereforeno warranty applies, despite what any seller would tell you on there. If an official retailer do sell on ebay, they wouldn't be able to sell them as they would have to sell at full price to be able to offer warranty, which wouldn't make them competitive on ebay.

Bunnings won't price match National power tools as the warranty isn't the same. National power tools only offer a 12 month warranty, compares to Makita's (which Bunnings adheres to) extended one. Check the warranty info page on National power tools. Bunnings or any tool store won't match the price purely based on this as it is not like for like.

      • Worth a try tho Steve?

    • Just FYI these are grey imports or something. I was planning to buy a SDS Max cheaper on National Power tools but held back due to warranty was through them not via Hikoki

The merged from should be a tiny link at the bottom, seems like its only useful to moderators of the site not to user tbh.

          • @dowhatuwant2: That one was fairly tame, but I often look at old OzB links of the same thing to see in the comments if anyone's had any nasty experiences with that product or seller. Like the ones that don't honour pricing errors - I want to know if I am wasting my time by having money held before an inevitable refund or should I get excited by a possible super-bargain.

            • @blerk: huh you can see something? for me it just goes to a page that says unpublished by moderator and you do not have access to see this page.

    Coupon Code: OCT17

A good price for a quality combo 40amp DC-DC with built in solar regulator. Cons are not for under bonnet use, not waterproof like the Redarc units and unit is quite large and has inbuilt fan which could be annoying if in a caravan etc.
Enerdrive ePOWER DC2DC+ Battery Charger 40A:
The Enerdrive ePOWER DC2DC+ Battery Charger is a fully automatic multistage, multi input battery charger with the ability to charge from either an alternator linked to a battery; or via solar power with the in built Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Solar Controller. With two inputs available, the main/house battery will be charged from either the engine while underway, or via the solar panels when stationary. The process to choose either engine or solar is fully automatic and both functions are controlled from within the unit itself without the need for external relays. During normal operation the ePOWER DC2DC+ Battery Charger will do a full charge cycle to float stage on the house battery bank with ability to choose either GEL, AGM, Flooded, Custom Programmable or Lithium. Once float stage is reached the charger transitions to a power supply mode to support any on-board DC loads.

Another chance to stock up on some decent priced filament. Jayo is a sub-brand of Sunlu.

Appears to be postage exclusions (i.e. does not post) to the following areas/states:

Adelaide Metro, Northern Territory, Perth Metro, QLD Far North, QLD Regional, QLD South East, SA Regional, Tasmania, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote.

    • I've never owned a 3D printer yet. What sort of printing mileage would one get from 10KG of filament? Seems like a lot.

      • +2

A huge amount. I spent hours printing yesterday (Bambu P1p, so it's a fast printer) and used about 100g. I bought a wide variety of colours, which is vastly more usable than just black or white for most people

      • +2

For a newcomer I would say 10kg will last you a good 6 months or more, maybe even longer. Probably too much to be honest.

Though once you get into the hobby and start printing more, buying in bulk is a great way to save some money.

      • +2

Heaps unless you are printing medium / large objects or high volumes. During calibration and fine tuning you will use material but even then won't be too much.

People will stockpile different colours and materials, and sometimes brands so that you end up with a lot of rolls at home. 10kg of the same colour and material of the same brand is a risky proposition unless you know it's gonna be good material and the colour works for you. Ive bought a similar deal in the past for 10kg of clear PETG from kingroon - enough positive comments on the product (but not the service! Buyer beware) and clear PETG is a good colour and material for many uses.

      • +2

Depends how much they print. I feel like deals like this are geared towards printing for service/commercial use. Kingroon have 10kg of mixed colours petg for $140 or so which would be better value for a home printer

        • I also gotten few 5kg deals. Got my 3d printer 11th September and gotten through around 3.5kg. Printing every day though. And some larger prints. Currently printing a “frozen lamp shade 200x200x200” Printer apparently can print up to 500mm/s (250mm/s recommended. But this print I print at 50mm/s). Hardest was to get all leveled and z level adjusted.

      • +1

Worth noting that PETG (PET is what soft drink bottles are made of) is trickier to print with than PLA. If you decide to get a 3D printer then start with PLA and learn the basics, then graduate to PETG. PETG is good for outdoor use as its UV resistant and less prone to softening in heat, PLA really is for indoor use only. If you buy this you could print a hell of a lot of plant pots.

        • I been sticking to PLA as newbie. But got PETG, TPU, wood filament and fibre filament on shelf when getting more confident. Also got a dryer box to dry it before using new roll. Probably not needed but saw somewhere it helps.

          • @Mikael: At worst a dry box will have no effect, but usually it will have a positive result on print quality and even help prevent clogging and failed prints. Follow recommended temps for filaments, too hot can cause degradation of filament.
            https://help.prusa3d.com/article/drying-filament_332086

            • @Quarn: Thanks. Just been using 40c for 6 hours after first use. See how it was first. But noticed improvements. Some filaments been on clearance and probably old stock. But as said, just to start with and play around with until I go with the better filaments. So many settings to consider. Fun though. But sometime frustrating lol.

        • I've found that petg and pla have been equally easy to print with, perhaps depends on the object being printed? The only difference I observed was petg was more work to remove support material. My choice between pla and petg is primarily the durability aspect but also if I want a matte (pla) or gloss (petg) finish.

          • @CyberGenesys: For me PETG pros are - more likely to adhere to and destroy a build plate, is prone to stringing, needs higher temp build plate and nozzle and is harder to sand and paint. But also has the pluses mentioned previously. PLA is definitely more beginner friendly.

          • @CyberGenesys: Agree. Support material is so hard. Tweaking settings abit and getting much easier. Beginning no way to remove it beside breaking the print. Some too easy and not much support. Getting there though. Found that printing support testers helped. Also degree and temperature tests.
Usually have a usb at printer with bed level that I know works before starting a larger print. Sucks going in 2 hours and starting to fail as not stuck to build plate properly. I don’t use glue. Just ISO and clean plate. Other material probably have to use glue stick.

    • I've been looking for some reasonably priced black PETG, but 10Kg is a lot!!

Siddament is usually my go-to, but no black in stock until later October…
