Happened to come across this last night. If you live chat with a sales representative they will be able to apply the bonus 5gb data.

Including my current plan and added bonus data, I'm now sitting at a nice 31GB/mth paying only $10!

Q. Does the 5GB Bonus data allowance cost anything? Is there a catch?
A. No. We are giving you the 5GB allowance for free every month to thank you for being a loyal customer and to demonstrate that we value you as a customer.

Q. How do I know when the 5GB Bonus data has been applied?
A. You will receive an SMS to advise you of your new monthly allowance once that the bonus data has been successfully added on to your account.

Q. Will the 5GB Bonus data show in My Account or 24x7?
A. Yes. The 5GB Bonus Data will be reflected in your monthly total data allowance in the My Account & 24x7.

Q. Will it show on my bill?
A. The 5GB Bonus data will appear on the bill as Bonus Data Allowance – 5GB.

Q. Can I share the 5GB Bonus data allowance with other services on my account?
A. Yes. If you are on a plan that enables your data to be shared between devices, the 5GB allowance will contribute to the total bucket of data that can be shared across eligible services on your account.

Q. How long does the 5GB Bonus data allowance stay on my service?
A. You will receive 5GB Bonus data every month to use in that month, unless you decide to do any of the following:

move to a Data Share SIM
move to a pre-paid service
move to a new plan, or
disconnect your service.

Any unused data allowance expires at the end of each billing month.

Q. What if I exceed my included plan allowance as well as the bonus 5GB? What charges apply?
A. If you use your plan allowance plus the bonus 5GB in a month, extra data will be automatically added in 1GB blocks for $10 to use in that month.

Q. Can the Bonus 5GB Bonus data allowance be used outside of Australia?
A. No, your plan allowance and the bonus 5GB data is only for use in Australia.

    This… I thought Coles had a really good deal at $180 for 42GB for 365 days but if I can pay $120 for 365 days with 26GB every month then that's a much better deal.

      hahaha - look at my comment above. I've linked to my original comment as to how I have managed to get my plan down to $10/mth and add bonus data over time. Currently at 31gb/mth now :)

    This offer is available in-store also as far as I'm aware, as my friend who works at Telstra retail messaged me yesterday to ask for my account number to apply it for me.

    Awesome just got it applied to my account. The Virtual Chat Bot was a little annoying to get past to a human agent but it worked

    Confirmed addition of data to my current post-paid plan in Telstra chat, even when I only recently re-contracted for 24 months in November of 2017.

    Thanks for the heads up…. went from 45gb to 60gb {3x plans} and lol the phones were from the jb hifi bonus deals [3x] {$200 + $10} + {$100 + $10}… and then i used the vouchers on a tv that was listed on ozbargain lol

          i was with Optus…
          Jbhifi - i went on the byo 12 month plan @ $49 {$200 + $10 bonus}
          Jbhifi - then next day i went on the 24 month plan @ $59 {pixel 2} + {google home mini bonus} {$100 + $10 bonus}
          Jbhifi - used bonuses to purchase a TV {was listed on here too bonus}
          telstra phone - next day requested a $10 credit / account {port credit @ $10 / month bonus}
          telstra chat - then today got the 5gb data added to every account {5gb data bonus}

          Bonus total =
          - 3x google home mini's
          - $960 JB Hifi vouchers
          - $30 / month off bill
          - 15gb data / month extra

          {i also got one google home mini from woolworths as part of that promo + i had $30 in jb hifi vouchers thanks to the whiskas cat food promo} = all found on ozbargain

    Just a bit of warning to those that are in live chat - live chat said it's only for being a loyal customer (no conditions of what that is though) - so safest to ask to make sure it is applied to your account. I asked live chat about the offer and live chat said that it would be automatically applied and I wouldn't have to do anything (I didn't receive any notice about this via text or email so I wanted to make sure that it was applied to my account).

    So I asked if they needed my contact details and if I could have it applied to my account. They have just confirmed that it is applied to my account.

    I'm currently being told by "Aditya" that it will be applied to a limited number of customers, and that she can't add it to my account.

    Adhadhut from live chat is no help and said it will be applied within 48 hours.

      Had a similar experience. Debated the meaning of "until" and how it differs from "if". The agent was convinced I had to re contract but in the end said it would be applied.

          @Tuhan: It didn't work for my business account. Telstra said it is only for personal/consumer accounts. I asked if there were any business offers and they replied:
          "We have the additional 5GB bonus data being given to business customers if they recontract to a higher plan or if they will port in a service over to Telstra."

    The chat rep said my "old staff plan" (aka Friends & Family plan) is not eligible. Would have to add extra service or maybe go on new plan.

        Try another rep. I made a complaint about my billing about 6 months and got it. I didn’t know it was a deal.

          Late response sorry.

          The "hack" is the that the $10 min, $39 cap family and friends plan has the ability to add a $15 data and call pack which gives you 2GB data and unlimited calls and text. So instead of a $39 cap with 1GB data you get a $25 cap with 3GB data.
          There's been better deals on oz bargain but at least you don't have to work for it 🙂

          Yes I have that. The only reason now to stay on F&F is the reduced handsets. Wonder if it will continue.

        I'm on the $39 Friends & Family plan. Minimum payment is $35 ($25 for phone repayment + $10 minimum). I rarely make any call but use the included 1GB. 5GB more would be nice.

          Same here, hardly any calls made and minimal SMS, (use email, Signal, or Viber on whatever cheap data SIM I got off OzB).

          It doesn't seem to place any exclusions on what constitutes a post-paid service on that page … might have to annoy them if I can work up the enthusiasm :)

          BTW, Telstra Air works great for me, used it all through the UK (as FON) and have used it around the Melbourne area.

          @thangcuoi you realise that on your plan data used in excess of the 1gb comes out of your$400 credit, if I remember correctly at 10c per mb.

    Is an 'Account" a mobile number? Or is an "Account" a bill?
    I have 3 x mobile numbers on my "account', each with their own data allowance.
    Do you think each will get 5GB?
    They are all shared data plans too…..so hopefully an extra 15GB for nix!

      Yes - can confirm that an account is each mobile number. I have two mobile numbers on my one account (wife and mine) and 5gb was applied to each. total 10gb.
