Why not also paste the list of games in the bargain description, instead of just linking to your blog post like you usually do? Seems like a skeezy way to drive up impressions.

Good bargain though, nice to see them match some of Big W's prices from that recent bargain.

    • +24

Have edited, but when I put the post up they weren't on JB's website so technically think we deserve the credit (as we credit OzBargain when deals are discovered here first).

        Cool beans.

        • +1

          Baked beans.

        • +4

          Salty beans

        • more like frank and beans

Why not also paste the list of games in the bargain description,

Why do you think? Because they are clearly trying to promote their website.

      • +8

This has been ticked off with mods. This was posted before the deals were even on the JB website, so would you rather me just post with no source/credit?

        • I personally don't mind that you give credit to the original website that posted it, but obviously some members do.

  • +2

Good deal OP! I'm looking to get HZD but I'm unsure of the second game to get… Anyone have any recommendations?

    • +3

The Last Guardian, biased because I'm a Ueda fanboy. It's not for everyone.

      • +11

Hard to go past Uncharted: The Lost Legacy too.

        • +1

Ditto. At this price, well worth it

    • +4

Every time I see Heavy Rain I can't stop thinking SHAUN!

      • I have the PS3, is the PS4 version a worthwhile port? Or so similar that you won't notice?

        • +2

No idea sorry, I think I have it but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I just do memes.

        • It's missing the DLC, can be a bit buggy, but graphics hugely improved.

I would keep the PS3 version too, if you purchased the DLC.

        • -1

I don't think the game is going to be worth playing whichever version you get. It's just a (barely) interactive novel. The story is interesting, but it is sooooo slow, your time would be much better spent watching some movies or reading some books (more plot per minute of your time)..
If the concept sounds interesting to you I would recommend instead the zero escape trilogy on DS/3DS or Vita. Story way more interesting and faster moving, plus the play segments are really challenging and rewarding

      • Shaun! Shaun!!….Daddy, you saved me. Shaunnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!! Shaun!! Shaun!!!!!!!!! Gonna love that glitch.

      • Quick time your way to 10hrs you'll never get back.
        Jason… Jason… Jason…

Uncharted Lost Legacy, Last of Us, Gravity Rush 2, and Last Guardian, are all good.

  • +2

    Excellent deals here

  • +1

Great saving on hzd. I get the feeling if I buy it now it'll be a psnplus game in a couple of weeks.

    • Do it for all of us.

    • +1

It won't be a Plus game for a long time, you can bank on it. Still selli really well.

  • +10

    Knack 2 Baby!

    • +1

      The real MVP.

    • +1

How'd you find knack 2 compared with quality of some of these other titles?

    • It's a MASTAPIECE!

  • Thanks, purchased Horizon and Dragon Quest Builders.
Was tossing up between Builders and Gravity Rush 2.

    • +1

      gravity rush 2 is amazing

      • Played the first one on vita when it was released and wasn't overly impressed.

        • I played the first one on PSTV via the whitelisting hack on it. Can't justify a PS vita for that and P4 golden

      • Yep it sure is!
Surprised at how well crafted that game is. The story, gigantic worlds, fun side missions. Gravity Rush 2 is highly recommended.

        So is Mad Max.

        • Mad Max was like a Wii game. I haven't even tried it

        • @neonlight:
Mad Max blew me away. Worth it alone just for the atmosphere and the feeling of isolation in a barren world.

  • Am I right in saying this runs till Mar 25?

I've got a JB voucher coming in the mail…

  • hard to go past a lot here +1 from me

  • Best couch coop games on this list for PS4? Knack 2 and ?

  • Anyone suggest what's great for an 8 year old boy for the PS4.

He has both Knack games and all the Lego games and absolutely loves them. Nothing violent but also not too dull… knack was the sweet spot for him !

    Thank you.

    • Dragon Quest Builders. It is a building game so he will love it.

Edit - I don't know why, but I read minecraft as one of the games, sorry about that. If he is into Minecraft then dragons quest builders for sure.

    • Second the suggestion on DQB.

Also suggest Everybody Golf, Tearaway and maybe Wipeout.

    • +1

Not at JB but Ratchet and Clank is going for $19 at Target, If he likes Knack then he'll love R&C. Im buying it myself, Im a fully grown man….. lol

    • Tearaway is super underrated imo.
From the people who did little big planet, but this time it's 3d and way more enjoyable (again, imo)

If you have the PlayStation Camera it's even better as it lets you add your face into the game and other little fun gimmicks surrounding the camera and controller. If you don't have the Camera, you can also connect an iPad or equivalent and use the touch screen to draw things like clouds that appear in game as well as use its camera.

      $17 at Target

    • Thanks all, will check all these out :)

  • There are 4 games I'd want from the list but I already have 3 of them. Shame.

  • Anyone want to go half half? Just looking to get uncharted lost legacy

  • waiting for dragon ball fighter z

  • The only one I don't have that I would maybe have grabbed is The Last of Us but I've got it on PS3 and from memory got quite a way through it. Prob not worthwhile starting again just for PS4 graphical improvements?

    • The last of us (digital version though) was US$9.99 (~AU$13.11):
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/267922

Mild graphical improvements on the PS4 version. Played the PS4 version, I think I was only 1/3 through it. Too many other games I wanted to play (got distracted by other games). Not sure $20 is worth it, especially if you played it on PS3 already.

      • +1

Mild? It runs at 60fps instead of 30fps to begin with, which is more than a mild upgrade on its own.

        • So it's as good as uncharted 4 in terms of graphics or the new shadow of the colossus remake? It's not even like Gears of war ultimate edition. It relies more on the story and game play, rather than graphics.

It's the last of us remastered not remake so mild clean up and update is accurate.

        • @netsurfer: it’s not a remake, no one said it was.
A stable 60fps and a bump up from 720p to 1080p is hardly mild.
          It’s fantastic value for $20

        • @theguyrules: It was $13.11 AUD. The graphics assets are 720p quality, which got cleaned up a bit for 1080p, but you can clearly tell it is not true current gen PS4 title, especially on a 4K screen.

fookos played it on PS3 so it is not fantastic value for him (if there is a way to convert/import his PS3 save games, then it could be worth getting). I have the digital version for more than 1 year now and there is no incentive for me to finish the game (only 1/3 through it). I got it mainly because of the critical acclaim reviews. Some people got it for $18-$19 on feeBay delievered. I think $13.11 is okay, $20 only if you really love this game.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed Red Dead on XB1 and Last of Us on PS4, both have sequels this year.

    • Does Red Dead have any enhancement playing on X1 - even though just back compat? Ie. upscaling?

      • very minimal, ps3 version runs on low 20's FPS, Xb1 'enchanced' version around 30. Only getting it for price and nostalgia.

        • Decided to grab a pre-owned copy instead. I've got a PS3 copy but it's still sealed and being able to play on the XB1 will be super convenient if I ever find the time (particularly given the PS3's are in storage. Heh). Can't go wrong for $8.

        • @fookos:

Where did you get the pre-owned copy from?

  • Perfect, I missed out on Horizon and Gravity Rush 2 last year so I'm excited to play them!

    • Nice, enjoy the journeys!

  • What are people's impressions of Wipeout Omega Collection?

Hard F-Zero GX fan here whose looking for a futuristic racer - this game is looking the part.

    • Pretty amazing, but when the free VR update hits it's going to be discombobulating.

    • It's incredible, one of my favourite games this gen (and last).

    • Amazing game looks and plays incredible. Seems better then the psp and ps3 versions too.

    • The original Wipeout pulse I think was on PS3 decent game for its time and was an option given to you for free due to Sony apology on their PSN network service down. I liked it but if I have to choose two games to buy I would not go for wipeout omega

  • Never played uncharted but always wanted to get into it especially after the last of us.

Is it wise to just get U2 and U3 in this deal ? Dunno if I can be bothered to grind my way through U1 if the graphics are dated and the gameplay is clunky.

    • I got all three as a bundled collection via us account for about $10 so worth keeping an eye on sales. Physical disk can be found delivered in aus for about $30. 1 is a bit dated but I still enjoyed it.

    • never played any sequel of uncharted but played 4th one.
brilliant. played all the way thorough in 2 days.
story continues but don't bother. just play. it's fun. :)

    • Best to get all 3 in a bundle - Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection as others have pointed out. Ideally, wait for the discount. Right now, even the collection is cheaper than buying 2 & 3 separate:

      https://www.bigw.com.au/product/uncharted-the-nathan-drake-c…

Can't recommend it at $34 though, not a good deal, but at least it shows $40 for 2 & 3 is an even more inferior deal.

    • Thanks. Best to wait.

I typically get physical but I really hate the cover of the Nathan Drake Collection, where it says "3 games. 1 great price" wtf? So I'll just wait for a PSN sale on it.

      • Really enjoyed U2 (probably my favourite out of the 4 - U4 is awesome too). U3 has some nice set pieces. U1, yeah, it was a grind for me (controls at certain bits are just wonky). My physical copy, the cover art is just Nathan Drake (pretty plain) - below is the disc cover image:
        https://www.bigw.com.au/p/934975/prdImages/GALLERY/zoomImg/2…

Maybe there are two different covers available. Got mine for $25 from memory. The $10 deal came out a month or two after I bought mine. Lost legacy is worth considering (it is kinda a mix of U2 and U4, except a much shorter version).

    • FYI I bought uncharted 2 and 3. Good story and game play but I get headaches for playing it due to screen movement and camera angles. I got sick playing it.

I end up selling them back on eBay.

      It's not for everyone

Therefore I don't touch any of those games anymore including HZD.

However titles like transformer devastation which is fine.

  • Got em'.
    HZD and Uncharted lost Legacy!

    Thanks OP!

    • +1

They're the two I'm going for as well.

  • just grabbed HZD and Uncharted~~!!!

thanks OP. what a bargain for good games!

  • Great work OP! Good games and deal. Now if only there were some decent switch game sales…

    • Nintendo is quite stingy not doing any sales at retail and their eshop doesn't give much of a bargain….

  • @Shancake do you run Press Start?

  • Should i jump on the base version of Horizon Zero Dawn or wait for the GOTY. I guessmy question is, Is The Frozen Wilds worth it?

  • Damn you JB, literally just bought Prey for the mug and took Batman: Arkham Knight which I didn't want ;(

Knew something was up since Gamesmen lowered their prices for The Last of US and The Last Guardian to $20
Also is Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls Collection any good?

  • I can't get it to deliver or pick up :(

  • I procrastinated during lunch time (was close to buy 2 games, but couldn't decide on the second game). Left and re-visited the store again after work, one of the games I wanted sold out. Well, I guess I saved $40. Really only wanted one game.
