      • Just purchased the Samsung S8 Plus for $800 from Sydneytech. Then kinda realised, might have been able to pricebeat at OW.

  • +1

Refurbished 55" LG B7 OLED from Greys online for $1478. Would anyone touch this?

    • +1

As OLEDs are relatively new tech…. and has a chance of burn-in… i'd be a bit cautious if the warranty is compromised

      • Good question, not sure about how the warranty works with this.

        • +3

Warranties are meaningless because you are covered by ACL for refurbished goods.

  • +4

Someone should tell eBay that pre-winter is Autumn.

    • ?? On the ebay website it does say Autumn sale

      • Look at the code.

        • -1

          What's wrong with it?

          Prewinter = Autumn

        • +1

@Homr: You often call Autumn Prewinter, do you? I can't wait til Presummer comes.

        • +3

I am pregirlfriend at the moment, have been for years actually.

        • +2

@WatchNerd: You're a lucky man! More money spent on watches.

        • -2

          @Munki: I don't get what the issue is, it's just a code

Do you often have your email password as "emailpassword"?

        • @Munki: I'm a billionaire in the making, but I'll go with "PREBILLIONAIRE" from now on!

  • Hopefully I can get a decent price on a couple of things I want using this code, thanks OP.

  • +1

Wanted to buy a NAS. All jacked.

  • +11

Can we please put "price jackers" next to know price jackers like Futu and PC Byte in the list provided? Same new comers time and direct traffic away from them which is what they deserve.

    • +2

      And jw-computers.

      • Yep the $1250-ish DS1817+ is at $1500+ at jw and $1559 at pc-byte. Makes a mockery of the discount.

  • +1

got a dji spark fly more for $680 - Thank you :)

  • Driven off with phone on roof of car last night.. phones gone.. tried everything. Anyway.. Whats the best deal for around the $500 mark with this sale. I'm thinking Mate 9 looks like reasonable value?

    • -1

Why was your phone on the roof of your car?

      • -8

Why does it matter? Mind your own business.

        • -1

Why does it bother you that I'm asking him/her? Mind your own business.

        • -2

          [INSERT INFINITE LOOP]

        • +1

@Putnum: I read that as INSERT ENELOOP the first time :(

      • +2

I blame skinny jeans. He had to take his phone to get to his keys. The phone was on top of the keys so he took it out and placed the phone on the roof of the car.
The remote is not working so after unlocking the door he opened the door and put his keys into the ignition and turned the car on. He hopped straight into the car and drove off nearly forgetting to put on his seatbelt. He did so just as a cop car drove past.

        • +1

Loading luggage into boot for an airport run. Is the Mate 9 a sound choice?

      • +1

You'd be surprised how many company phones/laptops are 'left on the roof of the car and driven over'

        • Most times the phones and laptops are still in good working condition after falling off the car roof. I resell 2nd phones and laptops as a side business and that is how I source my stocks from.

        • @Homr: that's because they never fell off. That's the joke.

    • +2

      I'll answer your question !

I bought a Mate 9 for my wife a few weeks ago. Awesome phone. She is wrapped with how fast and smooth it is. The camera takes good photos and it is 10 times faster than her previous Sony C5. Large battery lasts her a few days. She carries it in a wallet case with all her cards so the larger size didn't worry her.

Hers turned out to be a Chinese version but the junk cleaned off ok and has updated to Oreo already.

Mobileciti and Allphones have Australian stock with the full Huawei 2 year warranty.

      • cheers for feedback dude

    • Did you try going back and getting it?

      • tried everything mate. Gone.

  • +1

Anyone got an idea how these would go as a baby monitor?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-x-1080P-Wireless-IP-Camera-CCT…

    • Hard to tell with these no-name cameras how they'll perform. You might want to google to make sure they're not hackable too. Nothing is creepier than someone else watching your baby. https://offspring.lifehacker.com/how-to-find-a-hack-proof-ba…

We bought the Withings Home (now Nokia Home) which is very good - great quality video, air quality monitor, ability to turn on music/nursery rhymes, and also has a baby alert mode too. Was better than the Dropcam/Nest Cam as it alerted you immediately if the baby was awake/crying rather than with a delay.

    • If you have a spare mobile phone just download Dormi app. Free trial / limited monitoring time I thibk, otherwise 7 bucks or so. Great app

  • Not much I can see that I want and with the price gouging seems irrelevant

PC Byte price jacked the HP Sprocket. $199 at JB Hifi. PC Byte $309!!!!

  • +2

Fyi : These 20% discount are funded 5% ebay , 15% seller. Expect price jacking :)

    • Is that standard, or this sale in particular?

      • Basically any non-sitewide deal is going to have sellers contributing to the discount, meaning they will likely raise their prices.

However, site wide discounts are funded by eBay and so there's usually less/minimal price jacking on those.

        • So what's the point in them participating? Its downright dishonest to suggest these prices represent a real 20% discount.

        • @gadgetguy:

Because people are more likely to buy something that is "on sale".

        • @synergy: Only if they do zero research on prices.

    • Not completely true.

    • -1

Prove it? Where is this documented?

  • Can't seem to be able to apply the code to any items on The Body Shop - anyone else have any luck?

    • interesting, they seem to have taken 'The Body Shop' off the partcipiating stores list in the last 5 minutes..

  • Dji sent me a $160 voucher to put towards a purchase of their goggles. Now this ebay deal has come along and a seller who offers the product offers what I'm After… Meaning there's an additional $20 savings with cash rewards. Pretty nice.

Still nothing good for the PS4 Pro since October last year… Pretty disappointing.

Having said that I have a goggles voucher for the DJI AUS store if anyone wants it.

Let the 20% jack ups begin.

  • +1

why bother looking? everythings jacked more or less.

  • +1

    Wish teds was in there.

  • +2

Every single item that I've looked for so far has been price jacked.

Don't reward these shitty eBay sellers.

    Complain to ACCC.

  • bought a victorinox huntsman from knives online, how do I check if its the lowest it's been or not? I got it for $35.12

  • +2

Is there a price jacking naming and shaming thread for this pathetic scam that eBay sellers are running yet?

  • Is there a simple way to see if prices have gotten the jack treatment? I've looked at feedback history for treasure_pc_online and past sales for the same model I'm looking at currently don't seem different.

    • +1

Check the 'sold tab' to see what price it was sold for prior to sale, if there are no recent sales then scroll down and check the 'View all revisions' in the description tab to see if the 'buy now' price has been modified lately, although you won't be able to tell what the price exactly was, just that it was changed.

      • +1

Good tips thanks hamza. FYI the above store have not adjusted prices.

  • Mavic Air suddenly out of stock on the Futu store :(

  • I notice Ryda has now moved the more discounted cameras to nofrills "powered by Ryda". (Which isn't on the list). Oh well on the bright side my bank account thanks them.

    • +1

      no frills is in there.

      • Thanks. Don't know how I missed that.

  • Thanks OP,Finally got an average quality knife block: Global Ikasu 7pc Knife Block Set $255.96

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Global-Ikasu-7pc-Knife-Block…

  • A friend just bought and paid for something and didn't use the code…can she contact eBay to get the difference back $255.
    Thanks

  • A lot of complaints in the comments and not many bargains being found. Straight to the front page with this one.

  • Got a kids ride on remote controlled car (bugatti style) for 103.20. It has great reviews. Was going to buy last week but glad I held out. Thanks OP.

  • I was looking at Edifier Bluetooth booksheff speakers this morning and this afternoon all the prices have gone up $10-$20 or more.

Blatant price jacking by PC market and others.

Sydneytec increased the price of the Edifier R1700BT by $27, pretty much the 15% they have to pay for this promotion.

  • deals any?

  • Picked up Logitech Harmony Elite for $232 delivered.

Happy with that after waiting an age for a decent price.

    There were only two though.

    • Yep picked one up also.

I'm planning to integrate it with my Google Home.

  • Hoping to pick up the Logitech MX Anywhere 2s coz I missed out the last OZB deal. None this time.

  • The Body Shop is listed here, but changed their minds-no deal.

Havent really been tracking prices :(

  • Wish ebay would grow some balls and boot shady sellers from its promotional programs. PC Byte is one of the worst offenders. Eg. im after a htc vive. Everyone is selling between $899-$999, then you have pc.byte at $1200… absolute joke….
