Does anyone know if these are an upgradeable fare class?

    • Wondering the same thing

    • +2

GKLMSVBHY classes are upgradable. so you need to pay more than economy saver fare.

Normal Sale fare is O class or ENQ.

    • +2

No. They are booked in O bucket so not upgradable

  • Anyone used this site to book tickets before?

    • +3

Owned by Flightcentre. Pretty much the same as their sister site Aunt Betty.

    • Yes used them for an upcoming Europe trip, had no dramas, tickets come through in a few mins and the booking reference worked on the airlines website. From the reviews I read though if you need to make any changes to the ticket you incur huge fees so best to make sure all the details are correct before purchasing.

  • how do add muticity i.e. fly in into Tokyo and flyout from Osaka to melbourne. Cant find that option on BYOjet

      • cheers

        • Works out to be same price ?

  • Is thing single or return?

  • can't seem to find anything as cheap as 580 :(

    • Looks like the Sydney Tokyo ones have disappeared in BYOJet. I'll have a look around.

    • +1

Sorry, looks like I put NRT instead of HND in the link. Sydney - Tokyo via BYOJet for $580 works now.

      • awesome :)

      • Is now 631 :(

        • You need to use the code for $40 off

Perth is part of Australia too!!!

    • +10

      What’s a Perth?

    • +7

Perth people only go to Bali

  • +1

    Couldn’t find anything with qantas.

    • Which destination?

  • Canberra links showing departure from Adelaide.

    • +1

      Fixed.

  • +3

    Perth need some love :(

  • I paid not much less than this for flights between Sydney and Tokyo but with a stop in Brisbane. Kicking myself now.

    • +4

Don't worry about it, enjoy the flights and enjoy the trip. :)

    • Enjoy it! I love the Brisbane Qantas Lounge but if you dont have access, the Premium Plaza Lounge is amazing and you can get entry for $25 via Dragonpass

      • +1

It's only a very short stop, not worth paying for a lounge for a family of 5… Maybe I'll make the wife and kids wait outside.

        • that sounds like a brilliant idea.

nothing even near $595 for Melbourne - Tokyo in all of Oct or Nov…

    • +3

Check out Google Flights to find the cheapest dates in calendar view. Looks like Oct 22 until Nov 15 have some cheap departure dates.

Then put one of the dates in BYOJet. So for example, Nov 1-8 $627.

I actually found slightly cheaper flights on Singapore Airlines for the dates I wanted. I guess they must be matching Qantas.

    • +3

They may be cheaper but you are flying through Changi. Now I love Changi and don't have a problem with that but for others, they just want to fly from AUS to JPN without any transits.

      • If flying with Singapore Airlines, dont forget to claim SGD$20 Changi Dollar Voucher (up to SGD$40) during your transit (if time permits, some time there is quite a queue).

        T&C check here:
        https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/es/plan-travel/privileges…

      • I agree, and normally I would fly direct with Qantas as well, but this time I managed to find more days for cheaper than Qantas, and my girlfriend wanted to visit Singapore (she hasn't been yet). So it worked out well for me.

Unfortunately, I also have just learned that Singapore Airlines now charges for seat selection, which they never used to. Another reason I doubt I'll ever fly this route again after this time.

        • The trick with seat selection is to wait until 24 hours out of the flight. It's free from that point.

Can't find any $580 from Sydney to Tokyo or, $569 to Osaka in June anymore. Maybe prices have gone up already :(

Also, is the fly40off coupon $40 off per booking or per flight on same booking? I wanna book 2 tickets on same booking so is it 80 off or just 40 off?

    • Also, is the fly40off coupon $40 off per booking or per flight on same booking?

Booking. So may as well do 2 seperate bookings.

Can't find any $580 from Sydney to Tokyo or, $569 to Osaka in June anymore.

Prices mentioned are after applying the code.

Sydney-Tokyo $631-$40=$591 The prices listed are after you apply the code.

      Sydney Osaka $614-$40= $574

      • I see! Thank you

  • how do you get the brisbane to osaka direct/non-stop to show up. all the options im finding stop over in syndey via your link.

    • Brisbane to Osaka are not direct flights. Brisbane to Tokyo have direct flights (and non-direct).

  • Also note for people with Amex: Qantas $50 rebate (off spend >300)
To get an even lower end price. (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/367553)

    • Booking directly will end up being over $100 or more in many cases. You can't get the statement credit unless you book directly with Qantas (e.g. no credit with BYOJet).

  • Which payment method did people use? Read on other forums that POLi is not the way to go… so with the other options (card, BPay, PayPal) considering surcharge/security which is the best?

  • Has anyone here bought shame to their family

    • By flying QF snooty air?

    • Yes, I once paid RRP for something.

  • just tried to book. the eastertreat40 code is not working even though website says its valid through to april 18, 2018. Then tried to call their call centre on their website only to be told they have searched through all their promo codes and EASTERTREAT40 is a promotion that has ended in feb. He also told me there is no such codes right now.

What a big joke man. I can't believe i just wasted all that time on the phone only to be told that's not a valid promo code. I'm better off booking off via qantas website and using the amex offer. Can't believe byojet.com is the biggest joke of all time. They'll never be getting my money. That guy on the phone was also a rude prick who hung up on me.

FYI i was booking a flight flying into osaka, and flying out from tokyo.

    • That's weird as it's listed on their homepage. I've been able to put both FLY40OFF and EASTERTREAT40 and they both work.

Qantas will be a lot more expensive. A better option would be to use Skyscanner Multi City and find the cheapest fare through another 3rd party site.

      • Yeah I think the code is only good for return in and out of same city. I was trying to fly into Osaka and out from Tokyo- so I bet it didn't work lol. Anyway all good. I booked via Qantas it was 15$ more expensive but they apparently do price match haha. We'll see how that goes lol

  • I've gone through the process of booking with BYO Jet but I haven't paid yet.
Where do you pick the seats? All I can see on the Qantas website is that it is $70 extra to choose seats

    • Seat selection ordinarily occurs via the airlines website as opposed to the agents site.
I was under the impression seat selection on Qantas flights was NC, however it has been a couple of years since I have flown international on Qantas and the policy may have changed?
