OzBargain community has a tradition to upvote all 20% off Ebay deals for shits and giggles.

      • +2

Certain members of the ozbargain ‘community’ upvote these deals, even before knowing there are any actual deals.

        • +5

I'm still waiting for this proof of eBay deals having no deals?

        • @Clear: the deal that never happened that had heaps of upvotes.

        • +1

          @wxyz234:

          the deal that never happened

So it wasn't a deal in the end then and got moved by the mods? Sorry but that doesn't answer the question. Is that the only thing you have to stand on?

    • They jack the price, we jack the upvote. :)

  • They never drop price after price jack.

  • +11

Question - Why the heck are people still upvoting this? How many actually end up "saving" from these deals? With the examples of price jacking every time, surely this is not worth such reaction from the OzB community. Comon Guys.

    • Funny how the comments and upvotes aren’t consistent.

  • I came here just for the comments :D

I've got one - pretty good - saw it here for around 800 which is fairly good I suppose - think I paid 850 mid last yr

  • +1

Sweet been wanting to get a leatherman but kept forgetting the sales. FYI a wave is $132 at knives and more and $132.50 at Knives online today - to see if they engage in price jacking haha.

  • +1

    If we couldn't pump20, let's Pull5.
    Let's wait for tomorrow..

  • Looking for a capable laptop under $1000. Hopefully will find something tomorrow

    • Let us know if you find a bargain - I might need a laptop for my daughter

  • olcdirect are in the search link but not the t&c's, are they part of this promo or?

  • I came here just for the price jacking comments :o

  • +15

If eBay ever do a code PJACK20 I will eat a print out of the ozbargain post, including comments.

    • Voting for this X 1000

    • PUMP20 is pretty close tho :D

Can't help but think eBay is having a jab at the sellers

    • If this ever happens I'm so spamming that thread so you have to eat reams and reams of paper.

      /Evil laugh.

  • Waited for it as I'm about to go overseas. Wanted to get a mobile which I can claim TRS. Does anyone know which of the sellers will let me do that? I think Allphones and SydneyTec do… Thanks!

  • Smoke him

  • The sale is already on, and you don't even need to put the code in!

    • Yikes! Better get pumping

  • GoPro Hero 6 Black is $476 delivered @ PC Byte (only 4 available)

    • ^ Using the "PUMP20" code when the sale starts tomorrow.

      • You can get this for $508.

        Comes with memory card 32GB.
        Use code PULL5.

Link taken from ebay app using share option is flagged as affiliate I dnt know why.

Out of curiosity I went to the deal page and clicked on the store hardtofind
    You get this message!

"Sorry, this store does not exist"

Oh those guys at hardtofind are VERY good 😜

Has anyone bothered to raise this to the ACCC? Regarding price jacking. It’s not allowed, I believe JB got picked up on this some time ago.

    • +2

Every. Single. Time. This. Is. Said.

Guess what's happened? NOTHING! Owait there was this one time action was taken against Kogan…. literally over a dozen deals ago. Yeah sorry, but the ACCC really don't care.

      https://media.giphy.com/media/l0MYsTuL1N15t4FiM/giphy.gif

      • Who’s bothered to raise it with them?

        • Heaps of people bring it up every deal. There was even a forum post encouraging everyone to do it months ago. It always ends the same way.

      • Or it could take some time for the ACCC to act, it is not like they can just go in the second some one does something wrong.

        • 3 years later…. yeah I'm still waiting.

149 tagged deals too dating back until 6/2014. Yeah… still waiting.

        • @Clear: They need people to report the damn thing! Hell, it took them nearly a year to go after MSY this latest time (Jan 2013 to Feb 2016 was the date listed for breaches, but they only took action in Dec 2016).

        • @Namesareapain: And nearly everyone of those deals will have someone saying to report it to the ACCC. The only thing to ever come out of it was Kogan getting into trouble 2 years ago.

You're more than welcome to report, but after years and years of it happening I don't see much action being taken.

        • @Clear:

Maybe everybody's waiting for somebody else to report it.

..Like me, I'll admit it, that's what I'm doing.

    • +1

You can't as they use a code that is optional to apply.

If a store jacks their prices, applies a percentage discount and boasts about the reduction of the rrp, the ACCC can act as that is misleading.

eBay have found a loop hole in the law where stores can legally rise and lower their prices "independently" of any eBay discounts since you don't have to apply the code.

Hopefully this is rectified soon but until then just don't buy anything and ignore the promotion.

      • No, Kogan got done for it and this is no different than that.

      • Don’t most retailers make reference to the discount in their thumbnail or second title line?

Here is the correct link because the latest one is missing the fishing store which has over 1,300 items.

    NEW LINK

I made a small Python script for this so hopefully next time we'll be able to get a faster and 100% accurate link from the get go :) This is not an attack on anyone who has helped by posting a link!

    • +1

Thanks nurries. Added to OP :)

    • good job with the python script. I was thinking about doing that too since I've been learning Python but never got around do it.

I don't think I missed the fishing store? I have 70 stores in my search including the fishing store.

      • +2

Thanks! Your link was fine except you accidentally had boohoo_outlet rather than boohoo_official_store.

And the fishing store was for the OzBargainer who posted a revised version of yours fixing the above but then leaving out a store.

  • Could anyone be bothered to recommend me a good laptop deal to replace my home desktop? I know zero about laptops and only started to consider getting one yesterday. I usually tend to get specs above what I need and I'm ok with that. $1500ish give or take a couple hundred.
Some video encoding, no photo stuff, non gaming (maybe would a little if it could handle it), at least 15" screen (anything above FHD nice, but not needed), would like ssd and hdd (or just use external?). It will be in the computer room, using a monitor, possibly docked, 75% of the time or more. Something more durable would be good for when it is out and about (kids). Size/chunkiness is not an issue.

    Thanks for any advice

  • +1

Holy Mackeral. So I have to replace my moto g5s plus due to smashed screen and camera lens. Alphones is $409.99 So even with 20% discount they are still more expensive than others No thanks

  • +1

    Price Jack!

  • +1

Excellent price on these earbuds, cheapest I have ever seen I believe.

    • Very attractive price. I added to cart without even thinking twice. As with most 1st-gen products, best to avoid. You should also check reviews before taking the plunge.

    • They are refurbished tho ?

  • My Phonez have got to be kidding - I was looking for Airpods, they have two listings with identical models of Apple Airpods, one for $299 and one for $439. No one's selling them for anywhere near $299, not even David Jones or Myer.

  • I have searched the sony ebay store and they seem to only have 2nds Tvs ??? Is tjis normal or am i missing something??

    • Yes that's normal, it's actually a good sale on Sony because the stock isn't even damaged most of the time, just boxes with slight damage that can't be sold as brand new, some great deals to be had.

      • If the box is damaged then that's fine but does it state that? Dont want a seconds Tv but..?

        • Actually just read this

REFURBISHED: This item is manufacturer refurbished, has been professionally tested and approved by Sony

        • It really depends, you may have to message them about the product you want just in case before buying.

  • +1

I would like to buy something for between $100 and $200 during this deal, it doesn't matter what. I really can't be stuffed doing a search for anything, so can somebody choose something which will enhance my life please?

    • A cologne perhaps?

      • +1

Brut 33. Keep the ladies safe.

    • Get pumped

    • By a noose

    • Here you go.
Sorted descending with max price $250, shipping not included.

  • My hero The Barefoot Investor says Dunlopillo's are the Royle Royce of head slammers

    • I have a latex classic. It's pretty low profile but I love it.

  • Hoping theres a macbook deal tomorrow.

  • Why is it so freaking so hard to search the deal on ebay mobile site. If you search, you won’t get the listed deals on the page. I really hate it.

    • Because eBay - Flick it over to desktop mode and try again.

      • Tried multiple times, nothing changes.

        • Try enter desktop mode in ozbargain and then load the search link.

  • +1

Looking for Hisense 55” TV, either N6 or N7. Let’s hope something good pops up. It’s looking shit at the moment. If anyone has link to a good deal please let me know.

  • Hmmm, don't seem to be any 9000/9400E Bravia's under 65"…

Any chance they expand their range tomorrow?

  • Keen on this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-UD88-27-16-9-UHD-IPS-LED-3840…
Can anyone confirm that this store sells Aussie stock?

  • I'm after a portable hard drive.

Is this a good deal? I just need a big drive to save videos of the kids as my phone storage for videos specifically is full

    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Seagate-4TB-Expansion-Portable-Har…

    • No. I have same one which was much cheaper last year… use the Ozbargain search.

  • -1

Any deals for Google Pixel 2 XL?

  • I really wish a AirPods to be somewhere including in this today, can’t see it happening though 😔

  • +2

Sydneytec do massive price jacking. Don’t waste your time with them

    • I'm looking into the Ubiquiti Unifi APs - you think they could be cheaper elsewhere or if I hold on? eg https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Ubiquiti-UniFi-UAP-AC-PRO-5-…

      • Ohh I am trying to source one too.. the Unifi AP Pro ones..

      • Considering wireless1 have them for $933, it just shows the blatant price gouging of Sydneytec. Another great example of gouging is the arlo Pro 2 - 4 pack. It retails for $1399 but sydneytec have them at $1748.75. Guess what $1748.75 minus 20% is……. you guessed it $1399.

        • +1

Bloody right, night before price for arlo range was 10% cheaper. Bloody disgrace will never buy from them.

        • Wireless1 and Sydneytec appear to be the same business. Same format invoices, same from address on the parcels I received from each. Different ABN, though.

        • @Jabba the Hutt: yeah, they were the prices with 10% less compare to sydneytech

LG C7 65 inch will be $2639 after discount! NSW local pick up only though…..tempting to just organise a courier company to do pick up and deliver

    • Refurbished tho…

      • i dont think theres anything wrong with it. it should be as new. and you also get the warranty by the Australian consumer law.
