Xiaomi COOWOO U1 LED Desk Lamp w/ Inbuilt 4000mAh Power Bank $19.99 US (~$25.81 AU) Delivered @ Joybuy

Awesome price as other sellers currently have it for over $35 US.

Besides providing light, this lamp has an inbuilt 4000mAh battery that doubles as the power for the lamp which provides up to 8 hours of run time and as a charger for your devices with it's dual USB ports. A single touch at the base powers the lamp on/off, long press adjusts the brightness and the stem of the lamp is flexible allowing you to adjust it in any direction. It takes a standard micro USB cable for power/charging and the two USB ports provide an output up to 2.1a.

This would be awesome if it had a Qi wireless charging pad in the base of the lamp!

    • I had a feeling someone would say that. Back when Xiaomi were just phones and tablets I used this as a Qi charger and lamp.

      • Theres an ikea one that does, be it more exp though

  • Thanks, bought 3 as I was looking for something this flexible. Not sure about the usefulness of the battery though.

    • Good if you want to charge something overnight or move the lamp around without constant power.

  • +3

I've had one of these for almost a year as a bedside table lamp. FWIW I love it.

When charged it can ean easily be grabbed if you need decent light somewhere else, too.

    • +1

How can the brightness level be adjusted? Is it two different states - low and high or can you adjust it strictly to your liking?

Reason why I ask is I want to use the light to read a book but I don't want it too harsh that it interferes with my sleep and keeps me awake

      • +4

You tap the one button to turn off or on. You hold it down to alternatively dim or brighten, from almost imperceptible for ambience right through several steps up to stun for reading. So yes, you can adjust it to your liking.

The only light emitted when turned off is a small red one (when charging) or blue (once charged) in the button, which is flat on the base.

          Thanks mate!

Is it cool white or warm white? nevermind video shows 4000K

pity there's no black version :(

      • So is it cool white or warm white?

        • +2

4000k is the very beginning of the cool colour temperature.

3500 is considered neutral. Which is what I prefer as room lighting.

        • @Herbse: thank you!

        • @Herbse:

Thanks for the info — a pity, that's too cold a temp and a deal-breaker for me. I don't want a light that will keep me awake at night after a reading session.

    • can this be used as a study lamp for kids

    its 26.30

    • AU$ based on current exchange rate.

I used Mastercard's exchange rate calculator. As usual with Chinese sites, they have inflated AU rates so it's always better to pay in US if you have a card without currency conversion fees.

      • -6

it forced me to pay in AUD/ so its 26.30 plus not everyone has mastercards lol i dont.
anyway no AUD plug only usb so has to go in pc?

        • +2

Next to the price you can select your currency which is US by default.

Many OzBargainers have cards without currency conversion fees for overseas purchases. 28 Degrees is a popular one. I recommend it to avoid inflated rates on websites and Paypal's own inflated rate.

No plug so use a PC, power bank or spare USB charger you have.

        • -3

@Clear: where do you plug this into?
and i dont have one no job so i cant get it.

Buy under 🇺🇸 dollars and use your bankwest or 28 degrees to convert at better rates.

  • Overly frivolous and insecure

  • Any deals on the xiaomi bedside lamp/hub? Been waiting for one but haven't seen any for a while.

    • Which one? Xiaomi and their partners have a few.

  • nice lamp, but from what I can see from JD.com (Chinese version of Joybuy), this is actually not a Xiaomi, but just COOWOO brand

    • From memory, Coowoo to Xiaomi is much like Ideas to LEGO - Xiaomi throw their marketing weight behind products designed by others.

Of course, my memory may be broken. ;)

      • You are correct. Pretty much everything besides besides phone and tablets are outsourced to other companies Xiaomi have purchased or invested in. Some fall under their Mijia brand while others fall under the other companies like Yeelight and Aqara.

  • anyone know the difference between this one?

    https://www.joybuy.com/product/600093901.html#tab-spec

    • same item for higher price

    • As excite said, price. Joybuy often create separate listing for their lower flash sale products.

    • looks like 4500k colour temp vs 4000k colour temp

  • -6

    looks useless.

    • +3

      Much like yourself.

    • +7

Much like many of your comments.

      • +3

Thanks all for the kind words

    • Looks like a lamp.

      • I love lamp

  • Wow this is cheaper than xiaomi store!

    • XiaoMi store dont have those desk lamps

      • you're right. the xiaomi branded one has a long, narrow light. and i dont know if its portable. the xiaomi store also has a panasonic branded one.

  • So the brand is Xiaomi or Coowoo? Or just a fake item?

    • Coowoo is the brand and is sold by Xiaomi here

      • +2

Ok,out of stock, was thinking how to replace light bulb, no worries

    • +1

Not as far as I can see. Showing as out of stock for me. Amazing deal! I was looking for one of these so it's a shame.

      • Aaaaannd out of stock again

id upload a screenshot of my order to show you im not BS-ing you, but frankly I couldn't be bothered

check back in a while I guess, maybe it'll be in stock again

        • -1

I got three at the same time the stock became available :)

  • +1

For some reason the store can't get my address correct (it's putting random numbers in place of "Victoria") and it's the first store I've seen that won't let you change it in Paypal later.

    Too much effort.

    • -1

What I did there is called my suburb "Suburb, VIC" and just ignored those random numbers :)

    • I agree. Submitting an address with two postcodes in different states is only going to confuse the postie!

  • What's the difference, apart from price - https://www.joybuy.com/product/600093901.html#tab-detail

  • Damn missed out work got busy :(!

  • $2,038.99

  • +1

So I had a look and saw the "Russian Language Version" lamp is still in stock at USD$19.99, I placed an order for it. Not sure I care if my lamp's instructions come in Russian, and it's a USB powered lamp anyways. https://www.joybuy.com/product/Russian-Version-MI-Xiaomi-COO…

    • Thanks Bought one from your link

  • Just received it. look alright, but could not find anything says it's a Xiaomi product! not even on Mi.com, wfh?

    • Does the light work with the Xiaomi apps ?? LIke MiHome or Yeelight? I have the Xiaomi strip and RGB bulb, so i'd like them all to work in one app..

  • 27 AU now lost $2 in 2 weeks QQ

  • Looks cool I want one, but I'm a little concerned - could this be a fire hazard with the battery always plugged in? I know nothing

    • Don't think so, as all laptops are connected with batteries and plugged in. Same thing.

    • +2

If this lamp being a fire hazard because it has a battery, then every device with a battery is a fire hazard….

  • Got one, cheers!

  • Got two, thanks!

  • Any idea how bright this lamp is? Can't find a Lumens number on the site

    • Not super bright. Bright enough to hurt your eyes. But fully adjustable down from there.

  • Does this work with Alexa / Google Home?

  • I'm seeing $32.76

  • +1

I just received mine, they were really well packed, they arrived in less than 2 weeks (first for me every other Chinese source has always been 4-8 weeks for me in past). They feel really well made, cant comment on there electronic longevity had em 10 minutes :)…

    • Had mine for a while. It's awesome that it's portable

  • Received this product last week - Not a bad product at all.. will have uses for it due to portability, flexibility and size. I leave it permanently plugged into my desktop PC via USB.

Although, I do wish it could've been bright enough to replace my previous lamp which is able to light up my room.
