"Lifetime" of the service. Which at these prices won't be long. Don't bother. You get what you pay for.

I got my lifetime getflix 3yrs ago for $us25. it's only as a backup for dns4me (which IMHO is far superior). I don't use Netflix, but the few times I've used it for BBC,Hulu, Amaon it worked a treat.

    • +3

Had mine for about 3 years now. Obviously the US Netflix is non operational but use it for other US streaming services with no issues

      • US Netflix started working again for me in the last couple of weeks on Getflix.. check it out.

        • Might have to have a look. Honestly I dont watch too much Netflix these days. Its another story for the wife and kids though.

        • +1

@wheresthebeef: US Netflix better for Kids movies. Captain Underpants big favourite with my 4 year old.

    • +1

Been using mine for about 3 years so definitely worth it. I cbf using US Netflix now (as pretty much I only use it for their produced content and out of US content like CW shows). So I'm not too concerned about the demotion to second class citizen for it.

If my subscription ended tomorrow I wouldn't be mad.

My Getflix subs ran up this year & never renewed it. Their "region select" for Netflix is very patchy & down for month(s) at a time - which, let's be honest, is why you get it. Been going downhill steadily since Netflix started their crackdown 1.5yrs ago.

    Buyer beware

    The spiel:

"Watching American Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon Prime, BBC or other streaming services can unfortunately be difficult while traveling outside these streaming regions. Rather than bypass these restrictions with the help of a VPN that may sacrifice browsing speed, choose a faster and simpler solution with Getflix."

    The reality:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/372813

"Your account is a promo life time account, please be advice that promo life time account is under our Promo Netflix region.

Unfortunately as of this time this Netflix region has many user and that means high traffic on that Netflix US region. This cause issue at any given time on Netflix speed and Netflix access on the devices that uses Netflix application due to high traffic.

On the other hand under regular account you you can access Netflix Us region on all device."

getflix hasnt worked for my Netflix for close to 2 years now.

    • +8

Now you can get a lifetime of not working netflix.

  • +9

I got a lifetime account a long time ago.

    They now say…

US Netflix is supported on every device for 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 month paid subscribers! Lifetime and trial accounts are supported on web browsers only. If you’re getting the proxy error please read below.

Never knew I was demoted to a 2nd class citizen before.

Stack Social and Getflix need to make it perfectly clear that you won't get the full service. This deal is misleading, especially when Stack Social are claiming the lifetime package is usually worth $891!

    • Report the deal as misleading then and explain why

      • I thought I just did…

I've just lodged a report with the OZBargain moderators, if that's what you mean.

I've already spoken to Getfix support about this. They don't seem to think it's an issue.

Looks like OP has edited his post to include your feedback. If someone highlighted exactly what features you get on the "shit tier" I'll upvote it for visibility

        • +1

@chatman: Fair enough. Still don't think it's worth anywhere near $891 though.

Got the lifetime Netflix in March 2017, it only worked a bit. Stopped working since May 2017!

Never heard from them since. Be aware.

Lesson learnt from a llfetime subscription in the past - AnyDVD - never purchase lifetime subscription again. The company has a change of ownership a few years after I purchased the subscription, received an email telling me it no longer viable, have to pay again to the new owner.

  • NordVPN still has the 3 year option available:

NordVPN is fantastic. Great price. Tempted to top up my subscription.

Plenty of servers for US Netflix, they also have servers available for Canada, Netherlands & India's Netflix.

Recommend at this price. Never had an issue. My connection is terrible and even with Nord running, doesn't slow me down too much.

    • Is NordVPN faster enough to watch US netflix?

      • Works good enough for me on my 12mbps connection.

May take slightly longer to load at first, but not much more than the Australian Netflix does. There are so many US servers for Nord, which are Netflix-enabled. It does depend on the time of day that you're watching and the current load on the server, but as mentioned, so many server options, you shouldn't have a problem.
Servers can be found here: https://support.nordvpn.com/#/General-Info/1047407532/How-to…

They do also have a 30 day money back guarantee, maybe try that as a free trial period?

I have been using Getflix for years now to download torrents of my favourite Linux distributions.

    • +7

Yes, my favourite Linux distributions are all in .mkv format.

    • What the (profanity)? Why? Most distros are free and if not you sure as hell don't need a VPN to get them.

      • +4

Umm. Some developers prefer you torrent it to help with bandwidth costs.

Also, some distros won’t arrive in Australia for months. EG. Game of Debian, Westubuntu, etc.

I also prefer my Linux tutorials as 1080p bluray rips.

        That’s me. YMMV.

        • Oh right. I forget that legit things are torrented too. I was under the assumption you were torrenting them from TPB or something. My bad!

  • +5

Sorry op but we have been down this road before.
    They are clutching at straws.
They are desperate for the money cause they are going down.

  • bought this 'lifetime' subscription a couple of years ago, before they introduced their 'lifetime means lesser service' subscription
dont even have it configured in my router anymore as it was a pain everytime my ip changed

  • IT's A TRAP!

  • Buyer beware.
I have paid for a lifetime subscription and all I can use is their DNS service their dynamic DNS hasn't worked for me for months.

  • For me it's worth it. I pay $20 every six months. It has worked fine for me except about 2 years ago when US Netflix was not working. Don't have an issue now, US Netflix works just fine (I access Netflix through web browser on my Mac mini which is great so I don't have to stuff around with router DNS settings). I access Netflix on my android box through wifi on the Netflix android app with no problems. Apart from Netflix it's useful for, ahem, torrents and accessing geo blocked sites like pbs. I tried to get their VPN to work but it was too much for me.

  • From Getflix themselves "US Netflix is supported on every device for 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 month paid subscribers! Lifetime and trial accounts are supported on web browsers only. If you’re getting the proxy error please read below."

  • Getflix is pretty good if overseas Netflix access isn’t a priority - have used it for several years now for other streaming services and haven’t run into too many issues. Customer service/technical support is generally solid as well

  • Netflix USA doesnt load. Guess I wont be Getting any Flix
