PC World Review

Don't forget cash rewards for a few pennies back. Just picked up one myself, hoping it's as good as the spec sheet and one review I can find in English suggest it might be. Next cheapest QLED I can find anywhere is $2400ish clearance 2017 model Samsungs sporting a similar spec and no fancy built in soundbar thingy.

  • When you say Android is this Android TV like the other TCLs?

    • I think so? This video has a little preview. Seems fairly responsive which is a lot more than I can say for my first gen Android TV from Hisense that takes a full minute to just turn on.

  • Is this selling in stores anywhere to have a proper look and how does it compare to the hisence

    • Looks like every retailer that carries TCL (Harvey / Good Guys / Binglee) are all our of these QLED's but the comment below probably explains why.

QLEDs are just quantum dot. Which Sony started putting in TV's back in 2013 (called Triluminos Display) Samsung in 2015, LG has it too now with their Nano Cell. They can bring out the most colour as they reflect the best off the pixels.

      • When i asked back a couple of months ago they all said QLED range is special order only and they never carry stock or display.
Best was binglee whom the sales man straight out refused to even explain the range to me and said completely ignore the TCL range since he's tired of dealing with customer return.

Definitely wait for the new TCL models coming from Wednesday night launch. They look amazing plus have full array backlight, with many local dimming zones. X6 ($20,000) C6 and P6. News from CES was they rival the flagship brands and cost half the price (For the C6 especially)

Ahh that explains the clearance prices and lack of stock of TCL QLED's in any big box retailers. Dammit.

Looks like the press release mentions a RRP of $2699 for the entry level 65" model so I'm guessing retail will be $2400-2500 out of the gate.

Still in the mid $1700's this clearance model is hard to beat in it's price bracket, but maybe i'm just trying to justify my purchase…

  • This TV looks simply great, the sound is very loud (even for not in-built speakers) and the picture quality is awesome.
Received it last Thursday for this seller - the service was impeccable. I didn't play enough with it, but it is amazing so far!
