    Edit: Actually, there's an adapter in there - it was in the wrapping and not in the box, so only noticed it as I was cleaning up!

  I saw in one review that "there's no universal IR port on the Mi Box" so I assume that means if the factory bluetooth remote dies you are stuffed (unless other bluetooth remotes will work)?

    I cannot see why other smilar bluetooth remote wont work with the basic functions even.

    Worse comes to worse you can get rf remotes/keyboard.

      I am guilty of posting before googling…I did some searching and I think there are also droid store apps that will work with it…just as well, the factory controller costs nearly as much as the whole box!

    You can use any USB or bluetooth controller.

    The supplied controller is not proprietary.

    There is an IR receiver, but not sure if the firmware supports it.
