Good price. Got them laat time they were on sale for this price back in mid January. So may have limited stock.

This is actually the 8Bitdo NES30 Pro USB/Bluetooth Controller

    Also available:
    8Bitdo FC30 Pro USB/Bluetooth Controller $36.00 was $69.95
    8Bitdo SFC30 USB/Bluetooth Controller $36.00 was $54.95

These can also be used on IOS by downgrading to firmware v2.0 on the N30 Pro and F30 Pro controllers (available here). IOS support was removed in later firmware revisions.

This should work with Raspberry Pi yeah?

Mine disconnects between every round on Ultra Street Fighter 2 so YMMV.

(Both Switch and controller on latest FW)

    • I have had that same issue, I had to take it back and I upgraded to the pro controller.

      • +2

Yeah I have a pro, I use that instead and let the kids have this controller.

        • whats the difference between all three for sale - seem the same except for the graphics almost?

        • +3

@PVA: The two Pro ones are the same with different designs more or less. The non pro is basically a Super Nintendo controller and lacks the joysticks and second shoulder buttons of the pro.

Pro's are probably a good idea if you want to use them with a Switch or emulation for older 3D consoles (PS, Dreamcast, N64 onwards) since a d-pad and no joystick would be limiting. If you are using the controllers on older games then I guess its up to you as to whether you like the aesthetics or have a nostalgic based preference to get the non pro over the pro.

Can't comment on the disconnection issues the others were having.

        • @Smigit:

thanks, didn't even notice the first didn't have the dual joysticks..

the two with joysticks are the same though?

        • @PVA: I believe so.

To clarify I mean the Switch Pro controller, I had the SFC Pro — rife with issues when more than one person playing.

  • Probably should mention limited quantity… most stores in VIC only have 1 inventory in stock for pickup only :(

I wish they had the 8Bitdo SFC30 Pro. I like the colour and shape better. SNES was my favourite console.

  • lol great prices but i can never bring myself to get one since it costs nearly as much as my Rasp Pi setup LOL .. ps3 controllers i already have do an ok job :)

    • do they work fine , as wireless?

we have a NESpi system and a PS3 connected to the same TV. For us, I assume, the PS3 controller would be a pain as it would power the PS3 up when we want to play the NESpi

      • PS3 controller is via Bluetooth there’s a few guides but quite easy to setup, only thing is it has to be away from the ps3 or turn the ps3 off at the main (as you guessed) or it’ll turn the ps3 on n connect to that console. I had the Nespi upstairs so didn’t need to worry and two controllers worked fine .. they also work every time without fail very reliable Bluetooth on the pi.

  • Might be related to why they're on sale?
(ie/ EB trying to get rid of any remaining stock)

    • Value might go up?

    • +2

Was just lazy Kotaku scaremongering. Author has no idea how ip law works.

Randomly says copyright and trade mark interchangeably. More likely eb just don't want to stock anymore because they are not selling well and don't actually work with the mini snes.

Might have to check if my local has the SNES pad… would make playing the new Donkey Kong Country on Switch feel more natural (for me at least!)

  • Good price, went to purchase and found a paypal balance of around $500 I had forgotten about, so double score!

    • +1

Yeah I do that all the time

  • apart from the design graphics, what is the real difference in these?

    • +3

SFC30 doesn't have analog sticks, if you're using it for the nintendo switch, I'd highly suggest going with the NES30 Pro, they're the same price anyway.

      • thanks mate. I didn't notice the first one didn't have joysticks…. my eyes must be failing me :)

  • I wish they had 6 buttons for sf but still awesome price for my retropie thanks op

  • Is there any noticeable lag with these controllers? Thanks.

    • No, but sometimes they drop in and out — no good at all for gaming. I had issues with more than one controller being connected (See above)

  • My 8bitdo zero controller did not work for most of the iOS games or any emulators I used.

  • If you pick up the wireless adapter these can also be used on the NES and SNES Classic consoles.

  • Has anyone actually been able to buy one?

EB wont let me finalise the sale. Tried different browsers and different payment types with no luck.

    Might ring the store tommorrow.

    • +1

Couldn't get through the checkout on a PC. Was able to buy one on my phone

      • +1

Thanks, tried this. Rang eb this morning, they said they are having issues with checkout on their site.

Purchased 2 via phone mobile site.

Also, delivery available today when it was only pick up at available stores yesterday.

  • I bought an SF30 Pro a while ago, it would work for about 30 seconds before losing sync. Tried firmware upgrades, downgrades etc but could never get it to work and 8bitdo support never seemed interested in helping.

Ultimately I returned it and got a SF30 Pro which seems solid so far. Note that you can't turn a Nintendo Switch on with these like you can with official controllers.

    • You returned a SF30 Pro and then got the same?

      • Typo - first one was a SN30 Pro. However I believe the only difference is the colour of the buttons, they should be identical internally.

There's lots of discussion on issues like mine on reddit.

  • The SF30 Pro build quality is remarkable. Feels better than the joycons themselves for Mario Kart etc on Switch.

Would assume the NES30 Pro would be the same.

  • Thanks O.P.. just picked one up. Very impressed with the build quality too!
