I've been on the 100GB data plan for 2 months now, barely get through to 20GB usage. Prior to that i was on the 15GB and felt like i would burn through so quick

    • maybe see if you can drop down to the 30gb

      • I'll probably stick with it, paying reasonable $$ for it, bundle + the discount that it was going for at the time

    • Try harder lol

    • Same here. What gives ??!!??

    • same here.. 120gb (100gb ipad plan + 20gb mobile plan) struggle is real.. can't even pass 70gb even with all the torrent+netflix+youtube+hotspot

    • yo bro… hotspot me

    • How's the speed? It's not limited when you tether right?

  • It was this price 4 days ago… Hardly click frenzy deal

    • this comes with 1 month free.. for new & re-contracting.. better then nothing if your signing up anyway

      • i signed up on Sunday, may be still i can get a month free?

        • not sure ask on optus chat

        • +1

Not applicable with the student discount. You can cancel the order on Sunday via chat (dont listen to them when they say you have to call, its bs).

  • Mmm gotta renew this week. Go with Kogan again or try this Optus deal.. mmm

    • Kogan data speed in Inala Brisbane was about 6-8mbps. Vs lebara was in the 20-30mbps. Vs Telstra is in the 60-80mbps range. Good to see what others are getting in your predominant use area.

      • Fair point. I'll check out my speed in Sydney and decide

        • FWIW I get around 100/60/80Mbps to Optus/Telstra/Internode speedtest servers at Botany on Optus (Might just be near a tower).
However they have a few blackspots around Sydney which can be annoying.

What’s a regional customer? Where there’s no signal.

    • something like that outter areas.. see this post.. NGPRIEST has posted all the codes in the comments.. if your a new customer porting in.. can take a risk & use one of the post codes.. seems to work.. guess you just have to hope they dont check postcode against your address when order goes through, worst case you miss out on 1 months free.. best case you get 3 months free

Click Frenzy send to be a bust this year

  • Is it possible to get Optus to increase the data allowance to match this current offer if I’m currently on a 12 month contract with 7 months remaining?

    • ask on chat

    • Let me know if u did ask? I have 4 months remaining on $40 plan

      • No luck. They want $60 to cancel the current contract before they’ll bump up the data allowance.

        • I just put a request through too, but I'm assuming I'll have a similar response. Mine is up in September.

Tried a month or two ago when the last double data came up and they wouldn't let me. I'm sure I updated to the current plan when I had two months remaining though, so maybe it depends on how close to renewal you are.

        • @Moventura:
How did you go mate? Any luck?

I have four months left on that $40 plan.

        • @alreadytaken: Haven't heard back yet. Might try chat

        • @alreadytaken:

It cost me $48 to change plan. I decided to take it given it had a free month, so I'm out of pocket $8, but have doubled my data and added free video streaming.

Can you get discount with .edu email address?

    • Talked to a sales consultant just now, you can't stack offers. Either the student, or the 1st month free.

  • Just ordered $40 plan with 1 month free, much better than my current $18 3gb plan + $10 international call pack

  • Your summary of charges
    MONTHLY
    $40 My Plan Plus 12M SIM $40
1 Mth Access Fee to be credited to your account $0
    Monthly ExtrasSEE BREAKDOWN $0
    TOTAL PER MONTH $40
Min. Total Cost is $480 over 12 months.

One month free not showing in min total cost??

    • 1 Mth Access Fee to be credited to your account $0

this line indicates the one month free

  • I was in chat a few days ago and got offered the $60 double data plan with a 25% discount. I should have taken it now chat won't offer that.

    • Were you offered that deal for the 12 month contract or the 24 month contract?

  • So ambiguous - is this 100GB per month?

    • Yes

  • The 4G speeds have drastically reduced to a point where I can’t even load a webpage.
    I signed up for a 100Gb plan costing $60pm.
I have been an optus customer for a few years. Speeds were always alright to stream but the network seems to be overly congested now. Maybe not enough infrastructure to keep up with the load of excessive data consumption. I do not know.

Managed to get a 2 month cancellation fee waived (only $24) and re-contracted the wife to the new $40 BYO plan.

  • Anyone have experiences with whether this SIM can be put into a data modem rather than a phone, and not be download speed restricted at all?
Was looking at the Optus Vividwireless plans, but most country regions are restricted to a lousy maximum 5mbps/1mbps speed, so this may be a decent alternative..

    • Answering my own question, if your local Optus tower offers Band 40 (2300MHz) you can theoretically get speeds faster than 5/1. As for Optus restricting downloads if it detects usage on a data modem or via teathering only, still unsure.

      • I would like to know this also . Like to put in modem but also have the convience of placing in a phone for calls at times would be a deal for me.
