Apple: $80 Refund for Out-of-Warranty iPhone 6 & Later Models Batteries Replaced in 2017 by Apple or Authorized Service Provider

1910

Apple is offering a A$ 80 credit to customers who paid for an out-of-warranty battery replacement for iPhone 6 or later devices between January 1, 2017 and December 28, 2017.

Eligible battery replacements were completed at an Apple authorized service location — Apple Store, Apple Repair Center, or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

The A$ 80 credit will be provided as an electronic funds transfer or a credit on the credit card used to pay for the battery replacement service.

Eligible customers will be contacted by Apple via email between May 23, 2018 and July 27, 2018 with instructions on how to obtain the credit.

If you have not received an email from Apple by August 1, 2018, but believe you are eligible for a credit based on the terms above, please contact Apple by December 31, 2018. Note that proof of service at an Apple authorized service location may be required.

If you have an iPhone 6 (and upwards) and your device has not been serviced with a new Battery from Apple, you are eligible for a $39 battery replacement service request.

      • I hope you have the original battery because Apple will refuse to replace batteries in phones which have had unauthorised repairs done on it.

        • Yes I've still go the original battery in an envelope, and I authorised my previous battery replacement.
The original battery looks pretty generic.

  • Poor iphone 5s users who would really be suffering from poor battery not included. Cost to replace battery is $130 at Apple.
Lots of peolpe not happy with Apple about this one

  • Where does it say that iphone 6 and later iphones will get a $39 credit?

    • This isn’t a $39 credit offer for nothing.
It’s if you’ve paid for a full battery replacement prior to the $39 offer, then Apple will credit you back the $80 difference so it’s as if you paid $39.

If you never paid for a full price battery replacement in 2017, and want a battery replacement, then you have to pay $39 up until the end of the year.

  • Yes im one of the victims. Unexpected shutdowns during warranty but too busy with life and when i had time it was out of warranty.
Argued with Apple that it should be free, defective battery, but no they say. Battery fine so i have to fork out $120.
    Quality product!

  • I got the email today, but Apple is only offering $50 USD. I was just wondering if this is the same for others?

    • Got my email today too and it says $50USD, clicked the link and it says "we'll be back soon".

    • I think that’s a screw up by Apple. That’s was the price difference in the US for the battery replacement, here it is $80AUD so that is what they will give you. Got it in my account today.

      • Did you have to contact Apple after receiving the email?

It says: To start your credit request, please contact Apple before December 31, 2018.

However when I click 'contact' it doesn't work.
