[Expired] $10 Credit to Gamesplus So You Can Get Free Xbox, PS3, Wii Accessories

419

This was posted a month ago about a $10 sign up credit at gamesplus.com.au

It appears they have no 200 customer limit on the $10 sign up credit and they dont detect multiple accounts.
Also good for cheap xbox games, play and charge kits etc.
Dont abuse multiple account creating, as they may take down deal. Thanks

P.S. First post

Mod: Edited title for clarity. This has been posted before but as a side note.

dont get it , how do u get free accessories ?

    • No one does.

    • go to link. sign up. do the tiny servey on that page.

      • Ah so some accessories I see.

  • You just sign up and use the $10 to buy accessories under $10.

    • Bought a couple of things cheers buddy

  • hmm not many good things..

free headset is alright but i got a better one lol..

anyone got any other ideas of good things to order?

  • -3

Stop trying to "talk up" the deal, just post it for what it is, which is free $10 credit.

    • which u can then buy "free xbox, ps3, and wii accessories"

  • +2

The best to order is MS Live Points. I bought 1500 points for $14.5

  • I don't get this… I signed up and didn't see any survey come up, I tried to buy something and went right before the step to pay and still see nothing about $10.

    • +2

you must accept getting emails from them. I used a 10 minute mail address since I didn't want to get the spam.

      • +1

thanks for the tips, works perfectly.

  • +29

You should rename it to $10 credit at gamesplus

and discourage multi-accounting since that is not ethical.

    • -6

it is true that it may not be ethical, but I made multiple accounts knowing it most likely wouldnt work, as noone who used this deal previously had tried it. Turned out they didnt detect multiple accounts so i thoguht i should post.

    • +4

Yeah, milking the $10 free credit is not right in my opinion, just save $10 on games rather than collecting free, often useless accessories just because you can

    • +1

They should have terms and conditions regarding discounts greater than the product price.. especially with free shipping involved.

  • +6

It's worth mentioning that with the $10 off code for new members and free shipping, games on this site can be had pretty cheap in general, even if you don't want to rip them off out of free items.

If you look at their specials and clearance items (not great at the moment) you might find some decent deals. For example, I got Guitar Hero Greatest hits for $8.95 the other day. Very pleased with the speed and quality of the order.

    • bought the same myself - great deal and it arrived quickly

      • +1

i also bought a xbox play and charge kit for 3 or 4 dollars

  • +2

Also consider the Wii Remote PLus

A good deal with free delivery and $10 off…

  • Gots me an xbox play and charge kit for $2.95 after discount.

  • can get pro evo soccer 06 on xbox for free too

  • Meh… free headset, win.

  • +1

I'd feel bad for these guys but I'm pretty sure they are being dodgy themselves…
They are a distributor that has secretly opened up an online store where they beat the prices of the people that they distribute to… Not sure that's legal.

    • +4

Everything is legal when you run your site on the Gold Coast!!

  • +2

tried this last time to get myself a free hdmi cord but they canceled my order after a couple of days so dont be surprised if they do to yours as well

    • For what reason?

      • no reason given, email them asking why they canceled it, no reply back.

    • +1

I'm surprised they haven't canceled the OP's order seeing as how he's done so many.

      • But were those orders made on the same day or diff days to be discreet?

  • +2

$10 credit was great got me Black Ops for $64.95 aussie version delivery took 2days so preordered LBP2 and got a free keyring got it today!! FTW!

  • +6

we should get this deal shut down now so its not another winewarehouse debacle..

if too many people order they will cancel for sure..

    • That's why I didn't create such a thread a few weeks ago.

  • Caution with buying items >$10.
Made an order of $12.95 - invoices factors in $10 credit = $2.95
But the system still charged $12.95 to my PayPal account.

Chasing this up through their contact us form.. annoying..

    • +1

No the paypal said will have to wait for the final confirmation from gameplus and no need to contact them.

Final Paypal only debit $14.50 for my live points.

      • You might be right in that it'll fix itself up but logging into PayPal show's a -$12.95 transaction.

"You have sent $12.95 AUD to 3rd Party Service Pty Ltd trading as MOVIES-GAMESPLUS with PayPal"

    • My order has done the same thing, post back when you hear from them.

      • Here's the reply, half hour turnaround which is good.

"When you first submit your order, PayPal will store a payment authorization (usually rounded up to the nearest dollar) that is likely to be listed as 'Original Order' on your account. No funds have been transferred at this point; this is simply a reference advising that you have an order pending. When your order is processed, only the difference - after removing the credit amount - is deducted from your PayPal account (in this case AUD 2.95)."

  • Has they cracked down on the multi accounts yet? You'd be lucky enough to get even 1 of many orders posted…

  • +1

maybe I am missing something here, but why is a PSN $30 card $30.95 and the $50 one $51.95. With the discount it is cheaper but why would you do it without the discount?

  • -1

I'm glad the new Silver Xbox 360 controller is out of stock cause its heaps cheaper than I bought it for at EB Games…
    Anyway, thats life.

I'm gonna get another 1500 MS points card for $14.50

    • Lol, keyboard warriors are out for some unknown reason.

  • most of the stuff are the cheapest things you can get from China. Still good value imo

  • What makes you say there is no 200 customer limit? It says so at the bottom of the signup page.

    • +1

Cause well over 200 people have used this deal.

  • I went for the HDMI cable.

In the invoice I got in my email I noticed this at the bottom:

    Direct Deposit Details
    Bank: Commonwealth Bank
    Account Name: 3PS-GamesPlus
    BSB: 064450
    Account Number: 1038 0539

Please deposit the amount of -$0.01 with reference to order number 9103825 in the transaction details.

    WTF?

    • +1

fill out a withdrawal slip for 1c

    • Mine had $0.00 on it

    • I got that in my order from the old post, I still got my item without depositing -$0.01 or anything.

  • I bought the ps3 move gun attachment, the invoice stated $5 after the discount but I got charged $15 to my paypal account. Anyone else getting this??

    • +1

Yeah, what they do is make it as an 'order' which means you dont get charged until it ships (at least thats what they did for me), and they put the full amount on the invoice, but when they took it out of my CC it was only the discounted total.

      • Ah ok cool, thanks for that, ill keep an eye on my order and make sure i get charged the right amount.

  • Trying to buy the 1000 Nintendo Points for $14.95 but it won't let you chose a freight method. Anyone willing to try it to see if it's just me?

    • Sure.
EDIT: Yep, same here, it doesn't list ANY options for postage so its impossible to select any. Weird.

      • Thanks! I thought it was time to buy Super Mario from the Wii Store, but apparently not :P

  • -2

Im a certain these guys are allowing this on purpose as a form of marketing. These accessories will cost them a couple of bucks each and for this they get your emails and newsletter listings. Not easy to get ppl to subscribe these days.

    • I got some free stuff from them when I ordered about a month ago, never received any spam from them that I know of. Plus, if they do send out newsletters, you can always unsubscribe. Pretty good deal to me, considering you're getting a pretty good freebie/discount.

I have used paypal on this site twice before but this time i got this message after logging into paypal.
"You must add a credit card to complete this purchase. Some payments, like instant and immediate payments, require a credit card."

    • that sounds really dodgy mate

      • thanks for concern.
its through the official paypal site, with all the verified website logo thing in opera. didnt ask for it on another website for paypal but.

    • I had a similar message to that last night when ordering from ebay! It had the lock at the bottom of the page and I entered some details but it said that the card was already in the list and told me to add another.. I went back redid the payment process without any changes and it worked fine. Lately, I've been having timeouts etc with Paypal on numerous PC's including my work. Just ordered something (not from gamesplus) and got a timeout/error from paypal. Refreshed and the payment went through fine.. Weird.

  • Anyone found any good items yet?

    • PS3 controller, PS3 cable charger, XBOX headest…

      Some good ones..

    • +1

I didn't really need anything for my consoles so I got this:
      http://gamesplus.com.au/ViewProduct.aspx?Id=5f2b8fe6-5f20-4c…

never know when a fitness mat might come in handy….like for exercise or whatever.

      • i like the lateral thinking… =)

yeah i got the optical cable for use with a media player.

  • did an instand bank transfer but chose the wrong account to do it.. it still says it went through though. I got the CC as the backup method but it seems to have gone through anyway, nothing taken from my account..

  • +4

i used this when it was 1st posted (for the $10 credit towards 1st purchase) and ended up buying metro 2033 for $17 delivered (for under $20 this game is great).

shame this offer and the way in which its being abused will more than likely lead to the end of future good deals from the shop.

  • +1

Red Dead Undead Nightmare PS3/XBOX + Shaun of the Dead DVD
    $25.95 delivered after discount.
Cheaper than all on Gamecafe search

  • +9

I encourage you to modify the description of this post, or else the deal will be abused and dried up dead by all the rabid dogs. Which will mean no more free credits anymore for anyone.

    • +2

I agree, could i Mod please edit it.

          OP you are very funny

          BAHAhahaa!

          to issh:
didn't realise i still left the link in there and when i typed that in without removing the link created a complede contradiction.haha
          thanks for pointing that out.

        • @ danred
thanks for being a good sport ;)

    • +6

also agree, this is ozbargain, not ozbastard

      • Although it often can end up all the same!

  • I checked my paypal and I bought Microsoft points for $24.50. I got charged the full amount? In gameplus checkout it said I paid $14.50…

    • happens all the time. u wont get charged full amount. check your transfer details etc.

      • Thanks for reassuring me. I checked again and says it's still pending, guess gamesplus adjust the pricing at their end?

        • image is a bit small
          http://imgur.com/qipgM

is from when i bought pnc kit after it sais full amount goes to correct price

  • +5

I think the deal should be taken off Ozbargain right now so not too many people more can abuse it.

    • +1

Agreed.. it's already killing their website.

  • +2

Website isn't working for me. Guess they cracked down on the exploit

  • +3

    Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)
Wouldnt be the first time OzBargainers DOS a website accidentally.

    • haha lol
only about 100-300 people to make it go down

    • 1716 clicks … poor bugger .. assuming all got the $10 .. it's $17,160 loss to the shop .. plus the shipping cost too ..
    • Take into account the amount of people who would have signed up from one month ago until now, and the amount of people who may have kept making accounts for even longer if they hadnt stopped the deal today. The amount he may be down from just this website would be insignificant, not to mention most people are using it as a discount to actually buy things. What if they never realised the deal was still up and another month from now theyre down a few 100k in profit.
And judging by the sheer amount of products including thousands of dvds, its a giant company. Also theyre not losing $17,160 since they would have bought all those things at a fraction of the price. thay may have lost only %10 of that.

  • +3

I used it to buy cheap MS points, I didn't screw them out of a cheap crappy accessory.

    • How many points did you get?

      • 1500 for $14.50

        • -3

          How many times? :D

        • ED.

  • +2

Can we please have this bargain removed from the site. it will not go through at all if we have too many people order..

its a few hours on here and already few thousand orders probably…

    • i think the deal should be kept up at least that way they might get advertising on here after all the $$ they've given away today…

  • +4

They removed the $10.00 credit :(

  • yeah they got too many orders. I think ozbargain needs to have a time limit on really good deals say 3 hours long and then automatically the deal is hidden. to stop people abusing it and ending up with orders refunded/refused..

    • +1

isn't the onus on the store/ retailer to put measures in place to stop people for abusing the deals?

i'm not sure that putting restrictions on ozbargain is the best solution…because then some genuine bargain hunters may also miss out this way as well?
