Some Logitech Gear - 100% Cashback Via Online Redemption - Starts 1 Feb 2011

4040

Some Logitech Mice, Keyboards, Webcams, Headsets and Cooling Pads are able to claim 100% cashback from Feb 1

see the website here
http://www.logitechcashback.com.au

still not a bad deal - given that after cashback, you essentially get the product for free

The stickers are on ALL the products at Dick Smith Arndale - and on the sticker it says, "Purchase me and receive 100% cashback". The upload is a photo of the sticker itself. I got excited as I thought I could pick up a logitech steering wheel with the cash back, but upon upon further investigation, I can see that only a limited number of products are included in this deal.

Only applies to these old models but 5 per household is not bad.

M100 wired mouse
M215 wireless mouse
K200 keyboard
C200/C210 web cam
Clearchat style headset
MK250/MK260 wireless combo
N100/N120 cooling pad

$300,000 is available for the cashback. If there are just 3,000 customers, so far, who know about the deal, that's about $100 each.

So, just a heads up there is a chance you won't get a cashback

The Logitech Cash Back Promotion commenced at 12:00am on the 1st February 2011 … as no further claims can be accepted as of the 1st February 2011

Jeez they don't make sense do they? I'm sure the "Logi" in Logitech definitely doesn't mean Logical at all! :P

  • Are people opening their products?

Not sure if i should open in case my claim get's rejected for some reason, so i can return them after. (did get through in time and posted receipt away)

    • Be safe and don't open them :D

    • Not sure if i should open in case my claim get’s rejected for some reason, so i can return them after. (did get through in time and posted receipt away)

Depends where you got it from
OW and DSE=i would note open it(well OW don't care if it is opened or not)
      The rest=don't open it

      • DSE. Note open them?

        • best not to(but DSE have a 14day change-of-mind refund)
but remember, some stores will not refund due to the promotion
          e.g. HN(as seen above)

      • officeworks accepted an unopened return from me this afternoon. it didn't even cross my mind that these places might refuse returns.

        • officeworks accepted an unopened return from me this afternoon

yeah officeworks have a good refund policy

    • +1

Pretend it's Christmas and wait till your claim comes in before opening your presents ;-) If you want to return the items for full refund it's only fair that they are still in new condition.

  • Trying to decipher the T&C, little confused. Have 2 separate receipts, 3 items on 1, and 2 on another. Lodged under same name, mobile, email on both claims. Should I be trying to amend one of the claims to my wife's name???

    • nope, as long as you have 5 promotional items, you should have nothing to worry about

      • That I do, 3 and 2. Guess it does say 5 per household, wether 1 in 5 names, or 2 in 1 name and 3 in the same name should make no difference.
        T&C are a bit misleading though……
Big thumbs up to the OP, he wins the cupie doll…..

I think it's dodgy how HN didn't want to give refunds, the fact that you bought it specifically for the cashback is even more reason they are obligated to refund to you if it was advertised on the package and the 300K ran out in such an unreasonable rate. Ah well, now you know the value of those places who do have a proper refund policy.
And not that I live in WA, I also think that the promotion wasn't fair to WA ozbargainers, perhaps promoters should wise up next and arrange it in a way as to start accepting claims at a later time so as those in WA get a decent chance to wake up, brush their teeth and head out to buy the goods before the 300K was all gone.

i would say that sydney and melbourne had the upper advantage of this deal

with daylight saving, 24 hour Kmarts, 7am OW
      they are LUCKY

    • I didn't waste time brushing my teeth, or doing my hair for that matter…and I had a head start by living in VIC

slept in my clothes and threw on a hat….it was like the excitement of your first day of school

      sorry you missed out!

      • I don't live in WA.

  • do you reckon it would matter that i put "rapid saver" as my account name for eft instead of my name (i wasnt thinking at the time and was rushing lol), maybe i should make a note on form?

    • +1

It's the account number(s) that count. Usually the name field is just for the banks to do some checking (if they could be bothered) and if issues arise. If you've haven't sent your claim form in it won't hurt to note it.

Logitech can't check your account name and aren't interested in knowing what type of transaction account you use ;-)

    • yes it will matter - banks often match a/c names to numbers

    • +1

It shouldn't matter. When banks do EFT/net transfer, they just go by the BSB-account number. Account name is not checked at all. It's only there if problem arise (eg invalid a/c number)

    • maybe i should contact logitech support and ask them to change it to my name?

  • Good deal, shame it had expired before I got to it!

  • Good deal, shame it had expired before I got to it!

  • +2

lol dse has dropped their prices back to normal after gouging their customers

    n100 $59.95 -> $29.95
    mk250 $49.95 -> $24.95
    m215 $28.97 -> $14.95

    • It just shows you that these retailers took advantage of the situation. I bought my mk250 at kmart for $49.94. If all these retailers sold it at $24.95 then there would be more for everyone. Harvey norman probably didn't want you to return it as they will refund the high price when we already know that they get it cheaper than $24.95.

    • +3

Which just means that the promotion could have accommodated double the number of claims if retailers were honest with their pricing on day 1. I think they are just gonna argue that since the cashback offer is finished, it's their way of "making up" to those customers who missed out on the promotion and instead getting to buy the product at half the "normal" price.

    • When I went into bing lee and bought my stuff over to the counter the young girl at the counter looked over to the manager and the manager said "we have to sell these at the RRP". Not sure why that would be but I didn't argue because I was getting it all back anyways. Got a nice free chinese dining set at bing lee though so that was pretty cool.

    • That is not cool at all!!!!!!!!

I will think twice before shopping at DSE in the future!

      • DSE = Double Sale-price Electronics.

    • Is that even legal?

  • Anyone else buy from bing lee? I just want to make sure I put the correct invoice number down. Is it the number just before it says "invoice total"? Mine says "NUMBER:119XXX".

  • +1

I was just getting ready to post and looking over my claim confirmation email and it says

To finalise your claim, please print your claim form, attach your original purchase receipt (with your unique claim number marked on the back)</b>, and mail to:

I almost forgot to write the claim number on the back of the receipt.

    • +1

don't worry too much about the minor details, they won't reject simply becos you forgot to put the claim number on the back.

      • If you don't comply with T&Cs then you may not have a valid claim.

  • "lol dse has dropped their prices back to normal after gouging their customers"
actually, DSE was gouging ALL Logitech customers, if they hadn't jacked up the prices there would have been more $$$ to claim! businesses taking advantage of other businesses at the ultimate expense of customers, not the first(or last!) time…

  • +1

Argh I forgot to print out the claim forms. Anyway to retrieve them?

did you already get the store credit ???

i've heard they are refusing refunds unless you can prove the items are faulty…

      • no, i haven't got it yet,

yeh, i have heard they are refusing cash refunds unless the product is faulty,

        otherwise it is store credit…

i rang them and asked them about their refund policy, just in a general sense, and that is what they told me.

hrmm.. what if i open them up and unsolder a few joints….and then they will be faulty… grrrr

        • if you open the items, it will void warranty…

i'd try the cash refund route first, maybe try a couple of diff stores…

        • can't refund HN products bought from one store at a different store

    • Contact Gary Wheelhouse, he will sort it out for you. He put me in contact with the store owner and he processed full refund for me

    • Hi as per below contact us via [email protected] and we will fix.
I will keep an eye out for your email.

      Sorry for the delay.

      Gary

  • Anyone purchase from officeworks which had to back order items? The order confirmation document shows the total order including total amount paid, however the invoice doesn't show the price of the back ordered item, and it looks like they have only charged me for the items in stock (they will probably charge for the back ordered items when they are delivered).

Should I include both the invoice and the order confirmation? Or just the order confirmation as that shows the total amount I will be billed. I dont want them to get confused.

    • It specifically says 'the receipt' not the invoice…

Does the invoice confirm payment has been made ???

      • Invoice does. I might just send in both.

  • Can you send registered post to a PO Box ?????

    • +2

      yes you can

  • btw the submit button is still there if u want to make a claim.. it's just hidden under the normal page style.. u'll have to view it with no page style

    • Or you can simply click "Claim Here" up the top.

      • yes that's the page i'm talking about.. the submit button is hidden under normal page style…..

  • "Dear Kevin Rudd,

Thank you for completing your Logitech Cash Back Claim Form.

Your unique claim number is XXXX-XXXX."

yeah right, like the former PM would need a cashback in his new plum ambassador job-he'll probably be making 300K+ per year for the rest of his working life!

"Does the invoice confirm payment has been made ???" by definition, an invoice is something you present to get paid, so it won't show payment confirmed, but it may show payment method, like a payment slip or barcode as in post office payable bills

    • Invoice does, but not for full amount as they haven't charged me for back ordered items.

As you may have heard, this promotion expired within hours of commencing yesterday. If you did not submit a cashback claim prior to it ending, Logitech will not be honouring it. As per the conditions of their promotion, it was strictly limited to the first $300,000 of claimants.

For those of you who were not able to claim in time after buying it online… might want to cancel their order.

Just thought might help some people…By the way…+1 to JB hifi to send this kind of email specially when we are seeing that other retailers are refusing to refund the money.

  • "Invoice does, but not for full amount as they haven’t charged me for back ordered items"
ok, but how are you going to prove to Logitech you paid for the backordered items you are claiming for?

    • Good point. Perhaps ill wait for the back orders to come through, or call logitech.

  • -2

    has anyone read this?

    http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/article/375184/logitech_februa…

    points of interest:

"The terms and conditions of Logitech's cash-back offer stated that business claims were ineligible and claims for purchases made over the Internet would not be accepted."

that means that a whole pool might open up again. and:

"No limit on the amount of items submitted on a single receipt for claim was set"

did that mean that you could buy 200 items, on one receipt, and claim them all on one household?

maybe the editor interpreted the terms and condition, not quite correctly.

    • There was clearly a limit of 5 items. Everyone knows that.

  • Mr Campbell Simpson doesn't know what he's talking about, it was 5 max approved items per household, not per receipt, 1 receipt or multiple receipts it didn't matter, although some reported you needed to wait 2 hr inbetween claims, or use a different IP
also, he wrote "purchases would have to have been made when retail stores opened in the morning — roughly a four hour window for all purchases to be made and claims submitted." Mr Simpson is ignorant to the fact that some retailers like Kmart have 24hr stores!

    • although some reported you needed to wait 2 hr inbetween claims, or use a different IP

all you needed to do was to clear the cookies in your browser… i had 3 receipts, 4 products so have to make 3 separate claims… created each within minutes of each other but needed to clear cookies first…

      • I tried clearing cookie and it didn't work. Needed to use different IP.

        • i definitely had the same IP… i tried renewing it, but the router kept giving me the same IP… I then tried 'Clear Recent History' in Firefox, and that did the trick… I assume it was a cookie ???

        • Yes you needed a different IP address. I tried clearing cookies first but it didn't work but when I got a new IP address it did work.
JV it sounds like you are confusing you're lan IP address and you're wan ip address. Go to http://www.whatismyip.com/

        • :S not sure why it worked fine for me then ????

        • I called Logitech and told them of the problem when I was trying to enter a second receipt. The woman said she would tell their IT folk she would call me back (still waiting, lucky I tried again later!). So maybe their IT people made a change(s) during the day which caused different results for people.

        • If you are on an ISP with dynamic IP and you reboot your router, then you often get a new (WAN)IP. What ISP are you using?

I think there'll be a lot of disgruntled retailers. This was advertised prominently by several of them in their latest catalogue. The offer was over even before they had time to get their catalogues out.

      • That's for sure. I received a Good Guys catalogue in the mail today and they had the cashback advertised in it.

    • that's good of them

    • except that jbhifi refuse to refund at least one ozbargainer's logitech goods (somewhere in the thread). that doesn't inspire confidence in me.

Anyhow its not the bestest of the bestest. I was expecting more like an airconditioning for my laptop. I thought itmight even cool my room at night. LOL. So far so good.

edit: my laptop nicknamed turtle is being renamed today to something faster. Hmmm….now to think of a name.

    • jeez about time they replied to my email from yesterday.

      Hi xoxo,

All of the details about the timing of the Logitech Cash Back Promotion are on our cashback site. Purchases from Officeworks online were included. The promotion itself commenced at 12:00am on the 1st February 2011. Due to an overwhelming response, the promotion has now closed. As per the terms and conditions, the promotional period is from “1st February 2011 to 28th February 2011 OR until AUD$300,000 in online cash back funds are exhausted, whichever occurs 1st.”

If you have purchased one of the 10 participating products, please ensure you follow all the instructions on the site. Unfortunately no further claims can be accepted as the funds have been exhausted of the 1st February 2011.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, the promotion itself has exceeded all expectations. Should you have any questions regarding this matter we have the following places you can contact us should you have any further concerns or feedback

Thank you for your interest in Logitech

      regards

OK SO DICKSMITHS ARE F*****G DICKS. I ordered 2MK250 yesterday and when i ordered it said in stock. Will ship next business day. Today i was checking my order status and it says on backorder. I called them only 2 find out it would be in their warehouse in 2-3 days and then shipped to me go knows when. Their website still says in stock. I told him to update their website. He said can't bcos they will be getting stock. What an idiot.
