Some Logitech Gear - 100% Cashback Via Online Redemption - Starts 1 Feb 2011

4040

Some Logitech Mice, Keyboards, Webcams, Headsets and Cooling Pads are able to claim 100% cashback from Feb 1

see the website here
http://www.logitechcashback.com.au

still not a bad deal - given that after cashback, you essentially get the product for free

The stickers are on ALL the products at Dick Smith Arndale - and on the sticker it says, "Purchase me and receive 100% cashback". The upload is a photo of the sticker itself. I got excited as I thought I could pick up a logitech steering wheel with the cash back, but upon upon further investigation, I can see that only a limited number of products are included in this deal.

Only applies to these old models but 5 per household is not bad.

M100 wired mouse
M215 wireless mouse
K200 keyboard
C200/C210 web cam
Clearchat style headset
MK250/MK260 wireless combo
N100/N120 cooling pad

As at 30/01/2011 midnight, this deal has 2246 click throughs. Assuming others out there know about the deal, consider what happens if 3000 people have made purchases

$300,000 is available for the cashback. If there are just 3,000 customers, so far, who know about the deal, that's about $100 each.

So, just a heads up there is a chance you won't get a cashback

I sent registered, cost less than $4, but it still can be lost, no guarantees.

      • I too sent it registered.
        Cost me $2.90.

        Thought why take chances.

I remember sending some stuff registered about 5 years ago
        and it got lost.

Auspost re-imbursed me $100 for the item, which at the time was
the max. The item was worth $120, I think.

        • I too sent it registered. Cost me $2.90.

How come they have different prices for the same service ?

I paid 3.55 to send it from Melbourne…

        • Cost me $4.60 from Brisbane (Express Mail)

        • yeah i dunno mine cost $3.55 ($2.95 for reg post and $0.60 for 1 stamp)

        • $3.60 for me registered

  • Has any one got their claim status changes on the logitech website ? Who is the first lucky guy :-))

    • Who is the first lucky guy :-))

What makes you so sure it will be a guy ? There are lots of 'girl' members that use this site…

    • I just checked and it says:
"Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed."

The money hasn't hit my bank account yet though.

      • “Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed.”

        yep same here

you have to be patient, they have over 3000 submissions, and they won't have it done all in a week, expect 28 days as mentioned, and check up on your process every now and then to make sure its on track

        • I'm not opening stuff until my claim shows validated. Hopefully tmr

        • I'll never touch stuff until the money hit my bank account :)

  • So noone got their status updated by mailing on Tuesday yet?
Would like to know if anyone did so we know Logitech do receive those forms and receipts and process them. It would be pretty bad if they reject or lost mail while at it. It does happen with redemptions and cashback promotion.

I bet lots of people did impulsive buys…since it was FREE!

  • mine is still

Your claim is pending validation. Please ensure you send your claim form and original purchase receipt within 14 calendar days from the date of your online claim registration.

I just checked my article from aust post and that has been signed by some E LAYTON. Poor mr or mrs layton. Imagine the number of signatures they had to make.

    • professor layton lol

  • hey just a thought for those posting their receipts in this week of stinkin hot days, since many receipts are printed on thermal paper and Logitech won't accept photocopies at all(even notarized copies!) leaving it in a hot car or even a hot post office box might discolor the receipt enough to make it illegible and Logitech might reject the claim, so i just told the postoffice clerk about the receipt and she put it inside, so be careful, but i suppose if the worse case happened you could ask the retailer for a duplicate receipt, keep in mind the T&C clearly state that the paperwork must be received within 14 days of the online claim

    • I hate thermal receipts. I always photocopy the darn thing

  • My post tracking got the follows (I did sent on 1st February Morning, express post)

    Date/Time Activity Location
02/02/11 07:40 Delivered with signature BROOKVALE BC
02/02/11 05:25 Scheduled for delivery today FRENCHS FOREST DF

What does "FRENCHS FOREST DF" mean?
How I call somebody in Aust Post…can't find a number…

    • frenchs forest is a suburb

    • Sent mine registered post Feb 1st and check on Oz post website, says no events!!! Doesnt even look like it has left the post office I sent it from over 48 hours ago! Maybe the oz post website details dont update the details often?/never?

      • I have the exact same situation

        • o good, mine shows up with nothing at event

      • me too……

    • I'm guessing that's the Frenchs Forest Distribution Facility.

  • Mine was sent on the 1st and pick up by E Layton yesterday as well. My claim status is still the same though.

  • I sent letter by registered post yesterday, but i tracked my item just now on post.com.au, it shows No Event Found…???!!! anyone on the same boat?

    • don't worry, that's how registered post works. You won't get an update till its actually delivered

  • My GF went to box hill Dse tried to refund the items. And has been told DSE received notice from logitech, all the unclaimed items can be claim by sending email to logitech. But purchased date must be 1/feb. Anyone confirm?

  • Hi Guys,
So i managed to get a claim in on Feb 01..but i did it from DSE online.
The problem is that DSE online only give u an Order Number initially..no receipt number.
Thus, on the day when i put the online claim in with Logitech I put in the order number in the receipt number field. I then sent them a printout of the order confirmation.
Yesterday I received my goods..and suprise suprise..there is a receipt in there, with a different number to the order number. On top of that, they shipped the goods in 2 boxes (no idea why), so there are now 2 receipts!

Anyway just called Logitech, and they do require the receipt..but they have asked the question up the chain if they can accept things like order numbers for online orders.
I have a further complication in that because there are 2 receipts, they should have been submitted in 2 claims.
So for now, they have told me to await the outcome of my claim. If it is 'invalid', she said i get another 14 days to fix it up.

  • Still pending validation. Come on they already got the receipt…better process it soon!

"Your claim is pending validation. Please ensure you send your claim form and original purchase receipt within 14 calendar days from the date of your online claim registration."

    • Me too :(. Hopefully will be updated soon.

My one's done and dusted folks. I can confirm that I had multiples of the same item (3x MK250's), if that helps ease peoples' anxiety.

I sent mine in on 1 February 2011 via an express post envelope.

Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed.
    • Good to know. Thanks for message. Hail to ozbargainers for the info on this deal regarding items that can be claimed and conditions. Especially Thanks to OP to let people know in the first place!

    • I guess the next status is
"Your refund has been processed. For cheque payments please allow up to 10 business days for payments to be processed. For EFT payments, please allow 5 business days for the funds to clear."
so it could be more than a month before you get your money back.

    • should really have done express post rather than registered post that gives no event tracking whatsoever

  • Mine has been processed too :)
So is it safe to open stuff now ?

  • +1

My claim has been received and validated :)
I sent mine via standard delivery which cost only 60 cents :)
Screw registered post and express delivery :)

    • +2

$3.60 for peace of mind and wouldn't hurt your pocket :)

    • posted on 01/02/11?

      • Yep, around 9am and I'm from Sydney

  • not sure if someone posted this already:

    http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/article/375184/logitech_februa…

    OzB got a mention…!

Edit: Had a look back, she_spools_180 posted on Page 13, but i think they might've updated the article since then.

    • The offer was widely publicised by Logitech on its Facebook page and quickly gained popularity on the OzBargain Web site, with over 4,000 click-throughs and over 1,200 comments.

      those stats are good
looks like ozb is becoming popular

  • Mine has been updated as well.
Should be validated within 28 days.

I also forgot to write the claim ID on the back of the receipt so I emailed them about it.
A day later they replied telling me the receipt and claim form was all I need.

  • "Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed."

    SUMMARY: 100% CASHBACK PROMOTION

A letter has been provided to our trading partners to display in store notifying customers of the promotion ending. This was circulated from the 2nd February.

A field team has been deployed to remove all promotional stickers on the products and the actions for this to be done began on the 1st February and is anticipated to be concluded by the week of the 8th February.

The Logitech 100% Cashback Promotion commenced at 12:00am on the 1st February 2011. Products were available for purchase via retailers such as KMart who are open 24 hours, OfficeWorks with some stores are open at 7am, online sites with examples like dicksmith.com.au, jbhifi.com.au, bigw.com.au.

Due to an overwhelming response the promotion closed at approximately 1.30pm 1st February 2011.

We anticipated a good response to the promotion, but it has exceeded all expectations.

    in other words,
Logitech did not predict it would be this good

  • Has anyones claim been validated that included multiple purchases of the same product?
I called to make sure it was ok as many others said they did here - my claim was signed for on the 3rd by logitech and i still have the pending message. Haven't open the boxes yet just in case. Wasnt being greedy just a new keyboard & mice set for myself and the missus laptops.

    • Yes, claimed 2 clearchat style headsets

      • Thanks Jack - was just getting a lil anxious as thought my message would have been updated :)

    Hail Logitech!

Logitech seems to be going over the limit of $300,000 to satisfy customers who unknowingly (possibly misguided by stores) bought up to 5 products with “100% Cash Back” stickers that were not included in the list of participating products. Obviously, they could not claim cashback through normal online process and hence contacted Logitech. Logitech's typical email to such customers follows:

    Dear (Name),

Thank you for your email and interest in the Logitech Cash Back Promotion.

We understand that you have purchased a Logitech product marked with a “100% Cash Back” sticker.

Unfortunately the product you purchased was mistakenly stickered and was not in fact included in the list of participating products in the promotion. Given the circumstances however, Logitech Australia will honour your claim. Logitech will award your cash back refund, equal to the amount specified on your purchase receipt.

Please note that your claim must be accompanied by a valid original purchase receipt indicating that you purchased your product between 12.00am and 1.30pm on the 1st February 2011. Any purchases made before the promotional start date, 1st February 2011, will not be honoured. Please also note that Logitech reserve the right to verify your claim at their discretion, and refuse to honour claims that are not legitimate.

In order for us to finalise your claim, please follow these steps carefully.
    1) Complete the attached claim form.
    2) Attach your original purchase receipt to the claim form
    3) Attach a printed copy of this email
    4) Attach a photograph / packaging of the product you purchased clearly showing the “100% Cash Back” sticker
    5) Then mail all documentation to the below address.

    Please mail to:
    Logitech Cash Back Promotion
    PO Box 1024
    BROOKVALE NSW 2100

Your claim documentation must be delivered to the address above within 14 calendar days of the date this email notification was issued. Please remember to include a copy of this email as reference to ensure we can finalise your claim.

Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Centre by phone on 1800 850 522 or email us at [email protected].

    Thank you for supporting Logitech.
    Best Wishes,
    The Logitech Team.

      • maybe we can still do that if you find any items with the stickers on them… don't neg me for saying this.

        • You'll also need a receipt saying you bought it on 1/2/2011 before 1:30pm.

If you're willing to forge that then you're:
          1. committing a crime
          2. taking advantage of Logitech's generosity when they have already been very generous in giving a 100% cash back, and going out of the way to honour claims which cost them more money

If you are willing to forge documents for financial gain, there are many more lucrative ways than cheating Logitech.

        • sorry didn't realise the timeframe on the email.

      • they shouldn't honour it imo.

        • +2

the store should honour it. it was their mistake.. unless it was a logitech "rep" that did it =\

        • +1 to CVonV

because it was logitech who sent the stickers to the retailers also with a list of compatible items

my local OW had all the 100% cashback stickers on the correct promotional items so it should be stores fault

but that's good for logitech for taking up the offer

and also , i wonder who bagged the most expensive item(hmm…. Z550)

        • Livert, I think the retailers are the ones responsible for placing the stickers on the boxes. OW had the stickers out and they were applied over the expired “Win $2000 Daily” promotion sticker.

Ask yourself would you be happy with the item at the price you pay to avoid the inevitable disappointment for some when the cash runs out. There’s clearly going to be a competitive component to this. Given Logitech applied the stickers before shipment they know they value of the product in the stores (reward) vs the $300k (bait) ;-)

          oh well

    • u know maybe why cos 2day i received 2 of my items and they had the stickers on. On the sticker it clearly says "purchase ANY logitech products……"

it should have been purchase selected logitech producted

      • The sticker on my products says "Purchase ME" and get 100% refund.

  • posted receipt on the 2nd Feb.. Waiting Waiting..

  • anyone else having problem with registered post? I posted the receipts on 1/2/11 and on the tracking site it still says "no event". wtf. that is not good enough for me. a whole week to deliver a letter?

      • Called them and they said that the registered post does not show any scans in their system either and could possibly be affected by the flood. That would not really explain how others are getting their letters delivered and not mine. She also said that they can't start an investigation until tomorrow afternoon cos it needs to be after 5 business days before they look into it. This is seriously not good.

    • I sent mine on 1 Feb registered from Melbourne and it was marked as delivered on 3 Feb (picked up by E Layton). Still waiting for confirmation of receipt on their website though.

      • Confirmed as processed this arvo (8/2/11)

  • Posted on 2nd Feb, registered. Still waiting….no event no updates.

Are they going to decline cashbacks if they process so slow that after 14days still not done then it will consider as no cashback? Claim might be invalid then….

    Its close to one week!

    • Don't mean to add to your anxiety, but I posted my registered in Sydney on 4/2/2011 (Friday) and tracking showed delivered to E Layton this morning.

  • Just went to Harvey Norman Auburn today. I was told that Harvey norman was not a participant of the logitech cash back promotion. So people probably won't get cash back for the logitech products which they purchased from harvey Norman on Feb 1st.

    • yes they were.

    • +1

I'm pretty sure Logitech will honour it anyway, as they're honouring even non-promotion products.

But this once again show how dodgy HN is.

    • +3

HN is in the 'Purchased From' dropdown list on the online claim form.

      • anyways if it wasn't in the dropdown list, you could always do "other"

  • has anyone from melb had their claimed processed yet?

    • Mine hasn't been processed. Sent mine off by Express Post on 3 Feb.

      • same here, i'm from QLD though, i sent registered on 1st february afternoon 4pm +

post is delivered already, now i have to wait for the verification

    • No buddy. Sent my registered post on 1st Feb and got no update yet…

    • Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed.

happy times! i sent mine on 1st feb with registered post from melb.

now time to dig into my goodies

  • Anyone can tell me what the logitech tracking site should say after:

"Your claim is pending validation. Please ensure you send your claim form and original purchase receipt within 14 calendar days from the date of your online claim registration."

to show that logitech has received your submission?

    • I've got that on both of my claims.
I posted on 2nd February. Still no update on the logitech tracking site

      • Update, one of my claims changed status, it looks like they are processing them slowly, must be the massive amount of mails they got:

Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed.

  • Here's my reply from Logitech regarding delays….

Due to a high volume of claims for the Logitech Cash back promotion, please allow up to 1 week for your claim to be validated.
Once your claim has been validated please allow up to 28 days for your cash back cheque or EFT deposit.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Kind Regards
    The Logitech Team

You better post your receipt if you haven't by now else you miss out regardless….not meeting the 14 day period.

  • Sent yesterday from Sydney by Registered Post and it is already delivered:

08/02/11 10:12 Delivered with signature to M GODDARD BROOKVALE BC
08/02/11 08:53 Awaiting Collection from Post Office BROOKVALE BC
08/02/11 07:08 Scheduled for delivery today BROOKVALE BC

      • i think they do it as a bunch, as in Australia Post scans the barcode of them and then e layton signs as a whole, if not, wow, good effort for him!

  • he's been a busy boy, signed off my letter as well;
04/02/11 10:20 Delivered with signature to E LAYTON BROOKVALE BC

re honoring all items, good on you Logitech, if employees or reps put the stickers on the items it doesn't matter, it sets a good example for all companies to do the same!
it probably also answers the other questions like 'what happens to the unclaimed money'? also, because the promo was only live for about 11 hours Logitech could cover all items with the sticker, if it went for the full 28 days they probably wouldn't have done this
ps so this begs the question, who got the most valuable single item on cashback?

  • So relieved they have finally validated my 2 claims now (still pending validation when checking this morning).
Got a bit worried because I sent via normal postage.

I'm in Melbourne, posting the claims on 1/2/11 early morning.

  • OMG Finally!

"Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed."

  • +1

Still waiting on validation. sent on the 2nd. Getting anxious now :|

    • lol same here
it was definatly received now need to know if verified

  • +1

anyone get an approval for back order?

    • Not for me…still waiting

      • i sent 2 claims,
only one got the approval which not a back order
but still pending for the back order claim
        i wonder if its related.
