Some Logitech Gear - 100% Cashback Via Online Redemption - Starts 1 Feb 2011

4040

Some Logitech Mice, Keyboards, Webcams, Headsets and Cooling Pads are able to claim 100% cashback from Feb 1

see the website here
http://www.logitechcashback.com.au

still not a bad deal - given that after cashback, you essentially get the product for free

The stickers are on ALL the products at Dick Smith Arndale - and on the sticker it says, "Purchase me and receive 100% cashback". The upload is a photo of the sticker itself. I got excited as I thought I could pick up a logitech steering wheel with the cash back, but upon upon further investigation, I can see that only a limited number of products are included in this deal.

Only applies to these old models but 5 per household is not bad.

M100 wired mouse
M215 wireless mouse
K200 keyboard
C200/C210 web cam
Clearchat style headset
MK250/MK260 wireless combo
N100/N120 cooling pad

As at 30/01/2011 midnight, this deal has 2246 click throughs. Assuming others out there know about the deal, consider what happens if 3000 people have made purchases

$300,000 is available for the cashback. If there are just 3,000 customers, so far, who know about the deal, that's about $100 each.

So, just a heads up there is a chance you won't get a cashback

  • Just called logitech about my two seperate reciepts.

They said to post them seperatly because they had to be verified seperatly?

    • you aren't required to post them separately, you are just required to have separate claim forms for each…

there is nothing in the t&c's that says they must be posted separately…

      • I think most people would post it together. I did mine this way.

      • Yeah, I have seperate claim forms but when I called up logitech they told me to send them in seperate envelopes. Should I call up again to confirm?

    • Guys, just to confirm - you can post multiple receipts in the one envelope, I specifically asked this question and this is what they told me:

      Hi Montorola,

      Thanks for your email.

Multiple claims can be sent in the same envelope. However please ensure each receipt is stapled to the corresponding claim form to avoid confusion.

      Kind regards

      The Logitech Team

I'm so tempted to staple different receipts to different claim forms, just to get them back for the "100%-cashback-sticker-on-ineligible-items" confusion they gave us!

      • I’m so tempted to staple different receipts to different claim forms

Do it and let us know what happens…

Good chance that they can reject the claim because the receipt won't match the claim form…

  • Did you guys ever notice that the TC that says better to do the registed post? , Which is saying even though you send them with your receipt and document. They still can say "Sorry your mail still not yet been received"

Also have read the "Promoter are not responsibe if the mail didnt send it correctly or arrive or late"

    • +2

it only cost me $3.55 to send my form via registered post. Worthwhile if you ask me.

      • +1

what about the cost of the envelope ?

        • +1

That includes the envelope, Mr Pedantic.

    • would you be sure you can get your money back? if not, your receipt will be stamp as invalid. You might end up with using them and couldnt get refund

      • Of course I'm sure. We broden's are always ready to help each other make some money. I used the rest of my family's names and addresses. Changed my IP address and asked for a cheque in my family's names. No problems at all.

di u use the bank account method to get your money back. Imagine they only pay once per bank account number. That will be hilarious.

        • I used the Cheque method in the relatives names, all is good there ;)

Bought the MK250 and it was a returned unit. Came to DSE today with the photocopied receipt and got $20 back since it was $30. So in total I made 20 - 3.6 (registered postage cost) = $16.40 in profit. Will vote positive once I get my cash back from logitech.

    • Will vote positive once I get my cash back from logitech.

i didn't think you can vote on expired deals ??? Can you ???

      • you can :)

    • what do you mean by it was $30 and you got $20 back?

      • i think he bought a returned(refunded) unit

        • Yes. That is correct. I didn't find out until I got home and decided to get the $20 difference. It was DSE's fault.

      • i think he is saying he claimed for cashback then returned using a photocopied receipt.

  • Logitech cash grab lasts just 4 hours, but questions remain unanswered.
    http://www.current.com.au/2011/02/02/article/Logitech-cash-g…

    • -Can Logitech confirm that 100 per cent of the $300,000 worth of products was purchased at retail level?

No, online claims from DSE, OW, JBHIFI

-If not, what part was purchased online?

      DSE, OW, JBHIFI

-Was there a limit to how many claims an individual could make against the $300,000?

No, but max was approx $300 From 5xN100 @ $60 each at DSE
      Limit of 5 per household

-Is Logitech concerned that these purchases will be onsold to make a full-margin profit?

No, like anyone would do that ;)

-Is Logitech currently monitoring online sales sites (such as, but not limited to, eBay) to see if any of these products become available?

why bother, we bought it we can do whatever we want with it
it is a logitech marketing scheme, and also helps get rid of old products instead of going to landfill

-What has been the retailer response to this promotion?

      some refund policies disregarded

In the 13.5 hours that the promotion was live, a total of 3,314 submissions were lodged and 8,369 product claims were made.

The average customer claimed 2.5 products each. There was an absolutely overwhelming response, resulting in the promotion expiring at approximately 1.30pm on 1 February 2011.

      • Clearly it's too much hard work for the article writer to read the terms and conditions to realise that:
        1. there is a limit of 5 item per household
        2. online sales were accepted. Not sure if that's counted as "retail" level - I guess they mean not wholesale level

        • Clearly it’s too much hard work for the article writer to read the terms and conditions to realise that:

          +1 to that

could have of read the TC, logitech facebook, googled it(comes up with forums like OzB, whirlpool, game, etc)

    • The articles just show how crap the journalists are and how desperate they are for (sensationalist) news stories. That's about it. They need to stop watching ACA/TT/FOX/CNN and watch the news on ABC/SBS/BBC instead ;-)

    • Good luck to those trying to sell these things.
I think much of the demand for them has been satisfied by this deal, so there won't be much demand left out there. Thus the price will be low.

Would be lucky to sell the m215 for $25 and C200 for $40 (incl shipping).

      • +3

I agree. Lol at the complaints about ebay sales on FB. People are free to do what they like with goods they own (and in this case presumably bought! If someone wants to buy it for more than the seller paid well that's what happens in every store). If someone wins a car and then sells it I'm sure some will complain "not fair" he didn't really want to win a car, he shouldn't get it! ;-)

PS. Someone just paid $22.11 ($14.95 is postage costs!) for that mouse. Good luck to the seller and buyer I'm sure they are happy. While I wouldn't bother doing either, others are free to do the same. I'm sure many are disappointed on missing out and are just finding avenues to express that. Most of us wouldn't have purchased the items without the cashback offer so we're taking advantage of the situation too right ;-)

        • +1

+1 they earnt it, (bought the product and claimed the cashback), they are free to do whatever they want with it as is it theirs now

  • Did you guys send registered or regular?

    • +1

I sent registered, cost less than $4, but it still can be lost, no guarantees.

      • I too sent it registered.
        Cost me $2.90.

        Thought why take chances.

I remember sending some stuff registered about 5 years ago
        and it got lost.

Auspost re-imbursed me $100 for the item, which at the time was
the max. The item was worth $120, I think.

        • I too sent it registered. Cost me $2.90.

How come they have different prices for the same service ?

I paid 3.55 to send it from Melbourne…

        • Cost me $4.60 from Brisbane (Express Mail)

        • yeah i dunno mine cost $3.55 ($2.95 for reg post and $0.60 for 1 stamp)

        • $3.60 for me registered

        • mine was $2.95 + complimentary pre-paid envelopes courtesy ingdirect.

Cost me $4.60 from Brisbane (Express Mail)

lol express mail. 1 day won't make a difference

  • Has any one got their claim status changes on the logitech website ? Who is the first lucky guy :-))

    • Who is the first lucky guy :-))

What makes you so sure it will be a guy ? There are lots of 'girl' members that use this site…

    • I just checked and it says:
"Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed."

The money hasn't hit my bank account yet though.

      • “Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed.”

        yep same here

you have to be patient, they have over 3000 submissions, and they won't have it done all in a week, expect 28 days as mentioned, and check up on your process every now and then to make sure its on track

      • i assume yours would have been received yesterday? mine was just received today so hopefully tomorrow it will be validated :)

        • I'm not opening stuff until my claim shows validated. Hopefully tmr

        • I'll never touch stuff until the money hit my bank account :)

  • So noone got their status updated by mailing on Tuesday yet?
Would like to know if anyone did so we know Logitech do receive those forms and receipts and process them. It would be pretty bad if they reject or lost mail while at it. It does happen with redemptions and cashback promotion.

I bet lots of people did impulsive buys…since it was FREE!

  • mine is still

Your claim is pending validation. Please ensure you send your claim form and original purchase receipt within 14 calendar days from the date of your online claim registration.

I just checked my article from aust post and that has been signed by some E LAYTON. Poor mr or mrs layton. Imagine the number of signatures they had to make.

    • professor layton lol

    • surely they can sign for a batch? individually seems ridiculous

  • hey just a thought for those posting their receipts in this week of stinkin hot days, since many receipts are printed on thermal paper and Logitech won't accept photocopies at all(even notarized copies!) leaving it in a hot car or even a hot post office box might discolor the receipt enough to make it illegible and Logitech might reject the claim, so i just told the postoffice clerk about the receipt and she put it inside, so be careful, but i suppose if the worse case happened you could ask the retailer for a duplicate receipt, keep in mind the T&C clearly state that the paperwork must be received within 14 days of the online claim

    • I hate thermal receipts. I always photocopy the darn thing

  • My post tracking got the follows (I did sent on 1st February Morning, express post)

How I call somebody in Aust Post…can't find a number…

    • frenchs forest is a suburb

      • if there are no events then it hasn't reached frenchs forest df yet

        • o good, mine shows up with nothing at event

      • me too……

    • I'm guessing that's the Frenchs Forest Distribution Facility.

  • Mine was sent on the 1st and pick up by E Layton yesterday as well. My claim status is still the same though.

  • I sent letter by registered post yesterday, but i tracked my item just now on post.com.au, it shows No Event Found…???!!! anyone on the same boat?

    • don't worry, that's how registered post works. You won't get an update till its actually delivered

      • .

  • My GF went to box hill Dse tried to refund the items. And has been told DSE received notice from logitech, all the unclaimed items can be claim by sending email to logitech. But purchased date must be 1/feb. Anyone confirm?

  • Hi Guys,
So i managed to get a claim in on Feb 01..but i did it from DSE online.
The problem is that DSE online only give u an Order Number initially..no receipt number.
Thus, on the day when i put the online claim in with Logitech I put in the order number in the receipt number field. I then sent them a printout of the order confirmation.
Yesterday I received my goods..and suprise suprise..there is a receipt in there, with a different number to the order number. On top of that, they shipped the goods in 2 boxes (no idea why), so there are now 2 receipts!

Anyway just called Logitech, and they do require the receipt..but they have asked the question up the chain if they can accept things like order numbers for online orders.
I have a further complication in that because there are 2 receipts, they should have been submitted in 2 claims.
So for now, they have told me to await the outcome of my claim. If it is 'invalid', she said i get another 14 days to fix it up.

    • +1

So for now, they have told me to await the outcome of my claim. If it is ‘invalid’, she said i get another 14 days to fix it up.

logitech seem to be quite nice about it, unlike many rebater processors who will reject your rebate for any excuse they can find. kudos to logitech!

  • Still pending validation. Come on they already got the receipt…better process it soon!

"Your claim is pending validation. Please ensure you send your claim form and original purchase receipt within 14 calendar days from the date of your online claim registration."

    • Me too :(. Hopefully will be updated soon.

    • it's just the luck of the draw i suppose. i sent 2 envelopes together. one has been processed, the other is still waiting to be processed.

  • +5

My one's done and dusted folks. I can confirm that I had multiples of the same item (3x MK250's), if that helps ease peoples' anxiety.

I sent mine in on 1 February 2011 via an express post envelope.

Thank you for sending in your claim documentation. Your claim has been received and validated. Please allow up to 28 days from the date your claim was validated for your refund to be processed.
    • Good to know. Thanks for message. Hail to ozbargainers for the info on this deal regarding items that can be claimed and conditions. Especially Thanks to OP to let people know in the first place!

    • I guess the next status is
"Your refund has been processed. For cheque payments please allow up to 10 business days for payments to be processed. For EFT payments, please allow 5 business days for the funds to clear."
so it could be more than a month before you get your money back.

      • 1 month is ok as long as i know everything is in the pipe works.

    • should really have done express post rather than registered post that gives no event tracking whatsoever
