HI-FI Wireless Bluetooth Audio Transmitter Receiver 3.5MM RCA Adapter for $13.95 @ e-onlinebuy on eBay

60

I have been looking for an easy and cheap way to connect my Sony WH-1000MX2 Bluetooth wireless headphones to other devices that didn't have bluetooth connectivity. Saw an ad in GreenGuide from Radioparts for $24.99. Thinking that was cheap, but then looked on Ebay and found this Aus seller.

Just received mine today. Works fine and no lag for TV watching. Connected via Tvs Audio OUT RC cables. Just be aware if you have other devices connected to TV the sound wont come through. Ie I have put it in the Audio OUT of the DVD. Will just get another RC cable to enable me to switch between the TV and other device.

Tested 21m without line if sight.

My old laptop doens't work with Bluetooth, so using this to connect wirelessly as well.

Sound is ok. With the Sony's there's an app with an equalizer or set sound stages which works to allow adjustment of sound quality to headphones.

Can also be used as receiver. Connect it to a speaker RC points and play your phone music to the speaker. haven't trued that yet. Not really why I brought it, but could be helpful to others.

Anyway thought I would share. Sure there are cheaper, but you would be waiting for it to come from China and may not work. At least Aussie seller.

Note that it only comes in a light cardboard package around the unit. 3 cables and an instruction booklet. The free postage doesn't come with tracking. So advise you use PayPay for assurance if item doesn't arrive. Took about a week through slomo Aussie post. It was free postage.

  • A lot of eBay Seller have similar.

    Better ask at forum.

    • Just saying this one works well if your interested in one. I'm sure you can get cheaper from China etc, but this ones at least local and does work with the headphones I have. 4.1 Bluetooth.

      • Local… ordered from China

        • Everything is brought over from China. At least stock is from Sydney direct, so shorter postage time than from China Seller. Would check if they have it in stock before you order though to be 100% sure.

  • A price and a link to the item would probably help people immensely.

    Edit: as you were.

    • Done.

  • Any better quality ones?

    • You get what you pay for. I just wanted a cheap one. The original one I was looking at was $80. It had dual outputs so you could have 2 headphones connected to it through the 1 device. I didn't need that, so was cheaper option.

      • What was the $80 version? Can I please have the link? The dual headphone thing is what I'm after.

        • @pixie13 Look up this on Ebay. Actually $40. Don't know anything about the brand or seller.
ARCHEER Bluetooth Wireless Hifi Audio Transmitter Receiver 3.5mm AUX RCA Adapter

    • Avantree Priva III.
      aptX LL.
Supports simultaneous output to 2 headphones.

  • Let’s try again without link: I recently bought a taotronics bluetooth transmitter 4.1. Around $45, not cheap but wanted a good one for my Bose GC35II. Turns out there’s a lag when I use it with my tv. Unwatchable. Not sure if it’s my tv. Tempted to give yours a try.

    • For $45 you would think it would be ok. Hence why I thought Id give this cheapie a go hoping it wouldn't be laggy. Not laggy, so can only go by my experience with it so far.

    • You need one that supports aptx.

  • Don't suppose one of these would be good for connecting an Apple TV to some speakers on the opposite wall? Am using a very long cable at the moment but it gets stepped on and needs replacing after a few months.

  • @austriabargain If you were local we could test it out. Not sure. The unit connects to the Left and right RC audio points of speakers. If the Apple TV sends out Bluetooth signal to it it to enable paring, The unit should pick it up and send music out to the speakers.

  • I have this in my home gym tv. There is a buzz making it unusable if I power it by the USB port on the TV or the PlayStation TV but works fine with USB power adapter. No idea how long the battery lasts but that’s an option too

    • Can confirm there is a slight buzzing sound if you keep the USB charging cable connected while using bluetooth. Noticeable to me when there's no sound. If you go off the battery there doesn't seem to be the same buzz in those quiet points of audio. Battery should last awhile as 600Ma as energy saving 4.1. Ill try and do a time test on how long the battery will last by itself from full charge to dead.

      • +1

Buzzing noise is not uncommon in this situation, need a ground loop isolator such as this:

        https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mpow-Ground-Loop-Noise-Isolator-Car…

Quite compact and easy to fit in.

Used one to eliminate buzzing when using a Chromecast Audio into aux in on a JBL Xtreme speaker, powered by USB port on the Xtreme.

  • I don't want to be a downer but I bought this previously to use as a TV audio transmitter, and I found the sound quality to be very, very bad and could not recommend it unless you want to transmit speech without caring about how it sounds at the other end (you wouldn't want to use it for music). I'm not sure I even bothered to check how it performed as a receiver.

On the other hand, I bought this one and was thorougly impressed with the sound quality… https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-O… This one costs a lot more though (near $40).

    • @dantheman123 I'm using it through the Sony's. Wouldn't call the sound quality in voice or music as very, very bad. Unlisentable. IMO. Suppose it depends on if you are an audiophile. There is the equalizer feature through Sony app. Haven't tried them off my phone music say as I assume depending on the music source/file it would affect the sound quality.

I looked at that Bluetooth set as well. Almost 3x the price. Another workable option then.

  • I don't understand how this has no lag.

  • I've got one of these.
I bought it with the intention of listening to stuff on a plane (through my BT headphones)….
But after testing it at home… I realised it just isn't very good.

As a BT transmitter, I found the audio quality came through alot flatter… Bass and treble just suffered… Which really kills a movie watching experience.

As a BT reciever however, it's not great but actually not too bad, quite acceptable I thought.

Build quality was reasonably good too, but it's weight certainly makes it feel cheap.

And for Lag, I actually didn't find any serious lag, watching video seemed just fine. And if U were just listening to music, then lag wouldn't matter anyway.

    • As I have been saying the Sonys HP I am using has a audio app so you can adjust the base and treble a bit to get some better sound out of it. Probably is flatter straight out of the box. Can't complain for what I paid for it. Would be even better if it was really slim, but form factor is fine. Feels cheap, but suspect there isn't much inside it. The battery is probably the biggest thing in it.

  • Always buying something I don't need. Now my misses requires me to submit a request of purchase and verify. I really appreciate that she is keeping both eyes on my finance.

    • @noramando I know what you mean. OzB is a really bad website for those that cant control spending. At least we know it will be a bargain. Those Zapal posts are really suck you in.

Thats why you have separate paypal accounts or pick up items and hide them in the garage.

    • There are some on YouTube. Looks ok. Not cheap though but does suggest low delay with Apex
