AOC Q3279VWFD8 31.5in QHD (2560x1440) 75Hz AMD FreeSync (IPS PANEL) AU $258.75 Delivered (with eBay Plus) @Sydneytec eBay

170
PROXY

Ok the difference between this and the other post is, this is the IPS panel version of the monitor.

VA panels have lower response times which results in ghosting (a common complaint for the Q3279VWF model). This is Q3279VWFD8, so it should be better.

Note, there are no reviews as of date on Amazon or anywhere else on this IPS freesync monitor.

SO on the fence about this and the 27-inch Predator XB271HU which is $677 at HN…

Im a fps whore and a stinge with my money. Need opinions.

Currently have a AOC 144hz 1080p. Keen on going up to 1440p.

    • This is freesync and lower Hz tho. Unless you have an AMD graphics card and are ok with 75Hz, I wouldnt go for it.

    • +1

What video card are you running? If its a 1060 to 1080 (nvidia) like most newer gaming setups are, you will want a G-Sync monitor rather than FreeSync. The predator is a better monitor, but its also more than double the price. If you don't have a newer card than you may not even be able to get to 70 or 100 fps on a 1440 monitor.

Also don't let people tell you there is no difference between 60Hz and 144Hz etc because the human eye cannot see the difference. This is proven to be total BS and it is noticeable when playing FPS games. 100Hz or over is what is generally recommended for first person shooters etc.

      • Don't worry, I know the difference… i tried playing my xbox one one day and i couldnt do it. Haven't console gamed since.\

Edit: yeah that was a bad example, but i feel wrong playing anything lower than 70+

    • Im a fps whore

Then you should definitely have Freesync or Gsync, and get highest refresh rate. 144MHz or more.

    • That one at HN is a TN screen instead of IPS

  • wow!! didn't know this exist !!! cheaper than viewsonic vx3276 ips 32" 1440p which missing freesync as well

also this has 88% ntsc wcg VS 75% on viewsonic

    • if you pull the trigger, let us know later if ghosting is prevalent in this model too

      • +1

        i pulled the vx3276 :(

    • yea pretty good deal here imo, the viewsonic is like $40 more but kinda better design, thinner all around

  • is the 32'' ViewSonic (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/390554) a better deal for office use? It has speakers and more newer inputs.

    • yep definately mostly because you dont need freesync for office use. slimmer too.

      • Why is the Viewsonic better?

This is 50 bucks cheaper, and looks to have everything I'd want.

        • speakers and more newer inputs

Though whether the speakers is worth $50 is…. debatable.

        • @HighAndDry:

Yeah, I don't really care about crappy Viewsonic speakers.

          VESA though - hmmm.

    • this aoc has all inputs - vga , dvi , hdmi , DP

viewsonic only has - hdmi, DP , mini-DP

you only need mini-DP is you got laptop that has it

  • new LOWEST price I've seen! I got it for $279 few month back. It's worth to have for its price point.

    • was it Q3279VWFD8 or Q3279VWF?

      • Q3279VWF. I could not find the different between the two. specs are the same. seem one for the Asia other for International.

        • Nope the FD8 is a newer model with an IPS panel

  • Very tempted.

Have a 27" iMac and looking for a QHD to sit beside it… but at this price I am tempted.. YES a bigger screen, my desk will look lopsided.

    Anyone run a 32Inch as a 2nd monitor to a 27" IMAC - and all look good?

  • Damn I bought this last week for $270. Does anyone know if eBay plus members have buyer protection?

  • +1

Just bought for the same price from Futu_online

  • Which is the better deal? Philip's FHD 32 inch IPS panel
    Or
AOC 2k 32 inch VGA panel?

  • Pulled the trigger will test ghosting when i receive it

    • thanks, looking forward to it - also let us know if it has long awake from sleep times

      • +1

The wake up time is about 10 seconds, ghosting is noticeable if you look for it but i don't find it bad.

        • Thanks, looks like nothing has changed then ;/

        • Hi mate, found this post when searching for this same monitor, discount on eBay atm tempted to buy a couple for dual monitor setup.
How's your experience with it so far?? (besides from the 2 problems you've mentioned)
Is it worth buying for the price ($276 atm)??
          Any advice you could give???
          Thanks!!! Wilson :)
