    The last 2 BIG sales have been warranted occasions (Australia Day and this sale for 4000 fans on facebook)
    Big retailers throw out 'specials' on a weekly basis… so no-one has your loyalty?
    LTS has a few specials every so often and then big sales like this… no different to any other retailer EVER really when you think about it…

      Yes, there are many retailers that don't enjoy my loyalty, eg. jewellers like Wallace Bishop that have ridiculous sales every other week.

  Even if their mark up prices are high, when they have their specials, it beats any other competitor's price.
  
  I read somewhere that more customers are inclined to buy when they see something 50% off even though their competitor sells the same item for 10% off(both being the same price). They think their getting a good deal. I'm talking about those customers that don't really know the value of items especially when it comes to electronics eg. those that don't use internet to research prices.

yes their markups must be very high, which is why most people only buy on these sales when the pricing is more inline with what they really should be. LTS get sales, customers get good discounts. I think everyone wins. Suggesting the retailer drop their RRP inline with the sale prices is all well and good, but probably not going to go down with Logitech management or stakeholders very well.

  These sale prices are below dealer cost on most products. I'm guessing there is a logitech account manager who is working on moving a lot of stock quickly in order to hit their targets. Their are going to be heaps of pc shops out there that are going to hate LTS and it will slowly degrade the value of the brand as shops will decide against holding stock. Really the price you are paying now is what it should be all the time though…

    Me neither.
    The UE 220 suck balls. (bought a pair from LTS), just a pair of normal in-ears trading clarity in the treble (mainly, sound is muffled in other aspects) for muffled bass. I wonder how bad the UE 170s are.
    Sennheiser + Bang & Olufsen rocks my socks =]
    Logitech should just stick to their mouses and keyboards.. they're pretty good in that area, but terrible for audio equipment.

    I couldn't be happier with the UE 700s I got last sale to replace my CX500s. The cables are significantly thicker than the sennheisers making them much less prone to tangling and they feel more durable.
    
    That being said, the CX500s were fantastic for a long period of time, but sound quality is nothing compared to the UEs.

      That's different, UE 700 are dual drivers or something.
      CX500s are single drivers apparently, you're comparing an 8 cylinder engine to a 4 cylinder engine (not exactly but double… yeah)
      UE220s suck. If the UE 700s blow CX500s away, then try the UE220s (and waste 29 bucks at the same time) and you probably will agree with me, because when one moves down from a premium product (like UE 700) to an inferior product, the stepdown in SQ really stands out.

      I just came back from Hong Kong airport, and I got to test these… Westone 1, Westone 3, UE TripleFi 10, UE 600 and UE 700.
      Report compared to $65 Sennheiser HD228s (I have a small head, so maybe that's why my treble has clarity + no headripping bass, they fit snuggly and loose on my head)
      Westone 1: Good, lacked a little bass
      Westone 3: Great, no huge amount of bass, the best out of the ones I tested, but I thought triple drivers meant UBER sound, but they fell short of my expectation, at that price at least.. (3k HKD+?)
      TripleFi 10 - slightly muffled bass, what the heck, I thought these were premium =\
      UE 600 - Err these were crackly, sales person said there was a problem with them, pretty good demos =P, pretty sure UE 700s would be supposively better than UE 600s.. can't say for sure but logically, the UE 600 would be a rip.
      UE 700 - Not bad, very similar to the Sennheiser CX500s, tbh they sound like cx500s with a slightly lower bass, but they're dual driver earphones (UE700) compared to the CX500s (Single drivers) so I was pretty disappointed with their performance (bass is present but you can tell there is just a little clarity missing in the bass, otherwise, nice pair of earphones but for the price… hell no)
      All in all, I wouldn't spend another dollar on UEs, price is just a massive rip.
      I wouldn't spend money on Westone either, their HUGE RRP is just ridiculous.
      I haven't got a chance to test out monster turbines in-ear or beats by dr dre headphones yet (Beats by Dr Dre in-ears are just terrible… in-ears with a HUGE punchy bass that has no clarity in every other aspect with a massive price tag on it)
      Also got a chance to listen to Bose headphones at the airport.. terrible, deeper bass but no sharp clarity in the treble at all.

      I wouldn't pay RRP or even $170 for my 700s (or any headphones in that case, simply not necessary), but at $109 I felt like I got a good deal for a quality product.
      
      Also, one could argue testing them at the airport isn't really a fair test because you aren't taking the time to make sure they have the ideal earpiece on/comply tip and also due to burn in. I'm not going to get into an argument over burn in though as I have very limited experience.

      @Domingo that's very true, one could argue that at the airport is not a fair test, but I used the same iPod that was supplied there and assuming that the products have been there for a while on display, there should have been sufficient time for the earphones to burn in. So if one were to argue that "at the airport" was a bad place to test, it was still a test based on the relativity of the available products (westone>logitech but also in price as well). But note that in the airport, you don't have the roaring engine sound you would have while sitting right next to the wing in the plane, so I don't think that's a problem, and the tips were all medium - same size I used with my sennheiser cx300s when I do use them.

      For me, the TripleFi 10s have a very slight muffled bass, for me, all the UEs I tested at the airport had just a tiny little clarity missing from the bass, it's not exactly that noticeable though. I guess maybe its one of those things that you only notice after you get used to another product that is strong in that area, i.e. I used to think CX300s didn't have an overpowering bass, but I really felt it when I switched back from the HD228s + bang and olufsen speakers (can't take these to the gym).
      Then I saw that CX300s really had a roaring overpowering bass until about 20 to 30 mins later then I got used to the CX300s' sound and didn't notice the "overpowering" aspect of the bass.
      The CX300s are better than UE220 in the aspect of that even though CX300s have overpowering bass, Sennheiser didn't trade off clarity, where as UE220s did.

Yeah, don't take notice of their RRP.
But their sale prices aren't bad if it's the item you are looking for.

A lot of their prices, the $100+ ones, if you search on static, are much cheaper. However, for items that are $100 of less, you can get a lot of items that are within $5, including from stores such as OW.

Still, cheapest you can get though. Free delivery is a major plus!

    They are fast, but for some retarded reason they can't find my house or something. Both times I got stuff from LTS, according to AAE they attempted but failed delivery (someone was home all day, waiting), no note was left, they supposedly came back again but failed (someone was home again), no note again, and then for one item they then left it at the post office, the other they tried again and finally they managed to deliver it properly.
    
    The weirdest thing is that the Attempted Delivery Advice No was the same for both the failed deliveries (see here). Seems to me that they didn't even try to come to my house, just updated it for tracking's sake.
    
    Let's hope it doesn't happen a third time…

      AAE has a few dodgy drivers, that is a fact. My friend had an attempted delivery at 12:02, he was outside his front door from 11:50 to 12:15 talking to someone, they just dumped the card in the letter box and ran (Nth Melb).
      
      However, the AAE drivers in my area (Ferntree Gully, Lysterfield, Rowville etc) have always been fantastic. Luck of the draw unfortunately. If you do get a dodgy one, complain to AAE. Enough complaints about the same driver will eventually get some action taken. It's a shame that a generally good service can be fouled by a few opportunistic drivers skimping on service to benefit themselves.

    I read about durability problems but this was a joke - they didn't even last a full week, the right channel started to lose the sound, so i had to wiggle the plug a bit for the sound to come through again. I treat them like how one would treat a pair of $500 earphones, so i wasn't too pleased.
    
    Hopefully its actually just a one off, and won't occur again - it should be covered by warranty anyway. But when they do work (99.5% of the time), its a damn sweet sweet sound!

  I got the metrofi 220 last sale and I'm not too happy with them, SQ is meh. It's got loads of bass but the mids and highs are pretty muffled. But they were cheap so you get what you pay for.

      G510 has a screen and numerous improvements including headphone port for convenience, variable colour backlight, nicer feedback on the media keys and volume control, extra macro keys etc. It's an improved version of the G15.
      
      Personally I just replaced my v1 (18 media key, blue backlight) G15 for a G19 and couldn't be happier. But each to his (or her) own.
