      So Officeworks is included?

  • +1

So this basically works out to be 10% back on purchases as vouchers via flybuys?

    • Have added to description - cheers

    • Yep - but it stacks with cash rewards and any discount code that are still around right?

      • +2

Only PENNY5 is active atm I think.

    • My flybuys earn rate is 1 point per $2.

The promotion increases that 20 times to 20 points $2… or 10 points per $1. That's only a 5% discount in flybuys dollars.

  • Damn it, I bought pre order stuff on Wednesday as the last offer was finishing.

  • If I pay with gift cards will I still get the bonus?

    • +2

      Yes :)

    • Don't think so, as it says in the TCs that it requires payment through Paypal or CC !!

      • +2

paying by giftcards registers a paypal transaction. so yes it will still get the bonus.

  • +2

For large purchases, please keep in mind that you're restricted to 5000 points per transaction!

So I wonder how the 20x points works with this restriction!

    • Noting in T&C so maybe unlimited???

      • +2

FAQ's page reads: During special promotion periods, you may be able to collect more than 5,000 points in a single transaction.

key word being MAY! I wonder if we need to confirm this with ebay before making a purchase!

    • Does that mean $250 max per transaction for eBay Plus Members? (1 point per $1 spent)

    • +9

Not capped at 5,000 - just bought a laptop and got nearly 40,000 flybuys points showing on my Ebay Flybuys Dashboard already!

      • Hopefully says that way.

I called eBay for confirmation, who referred me to flybuys who told me there was no exception for this promo and the cap of 5,000 points is in effect. Deciding whether to make a large purchase now or wait for a 20% off sale. Deciding whether to risk it based on your experience.

  • +2

i thought it says $2 per 1 point , which means $2 per 20 points?

also, am i eligible for this offer if i'm buying coins?

    • +3

$1 to 1 for eBay plus accounts

      • Oh cool, just sign up the free trial, also, do you know collectable coins will be included?

        • This is from the T&C, so you should be ok. But there might be a 5000 points limit on each transaction

    • I recently used an offer from Flybuys for 10x points on eBay. The T&C's said 1 base and 9 bonus points per dollar, which is actually 20x points for non eBay Plus accounts. I doubt they intended that, and I will most likely need to dispute it once the points come in.

This offer is from eBay, rather than Flybuys, and the T&C's just say 20x points. So normally members will get 10 per dollar, and Plus will get 20 per dollar

  • Can you use eBay gift cards with the Flybuys ebay gift card?

    • Waiting answer as well

    • No you can't, you can't buy anything listed under the gift cards category anymore with gift cards.

      • That's not the question I'm asking. Does eBay gift cards stack with flybuys eBay gift card.

        • Oh my apologies, I would imagine that it would.

        • +1

Flybuys eBay vouchers are issued like targeted redemption codes eg. WSTBV1V59XG6W9BM. You should be able to use them in conjunction with eBay gift cards but they don't stack with codes like PENNY5. More info HERE

        • @headphonejack:

How to convert point to ebay voucher?

        • @LoveBargain15:

          Just redeem

        • @LoveBargain15: You can redeem flybuys points for eBay vouchers via the link provided above, or just log in to your flybuys account and you’ll find them under >Rewards >Money Off Shop >Vouchers

  • +3

What can I buy with 20 points?

    • +3

      Pity

      • +1

Pretty sure pity is more than that.

  • eBay is desperate.

I believe that those who have already subscribed to eBay Plus will be kicking themselves when eBay offers a even better deal to those who do not sign up initially.

Would not be surprised if the free trial period is extended to a few months or even free for the first year as a "targeted offer" since eBay management will be convinced that people not signing up are using Amazon Prime instead.

Although more expensive Amazon Prime pricing structure is more flexible for casual users.

    • +5

Idk for $29, I dont expect too much.

    • +3

$29 for the year to return whatever you want even if you just change your mind, plus double flybuys points and great deals only for Ebay Plus members I'd say it's a very good deal. I've already saved over $100 from normal Ebay usage for the first month.

    • +1

Who would be kicking themselves over $29 for a year?

I'm an eBay Plus member, and it's been great for me so far.

I've already saved more than $29 in postage costs just in the first month alone, plus you get the bonus of double FlyBuys (which is a program I use heavily).

    • Even if you just have 2 deliveries in a whole year you can end up saving money.

$29 is a bargain for what you get. Already saved me much more.

  • Anyone see any good TV deals in combo with this that haven't been price-jacked since its not a normal coupon? Looking for 60-65" decent quality.

    • Me too

  • Just wondering this kind of special promo do I need to activate it separately even I have already linked flybuys?

    • Yes I believe you do

.5 You will first need to activate the offer, following which you will be eligible to collect Bonus Points during the Offer Period. No retrospective points will be given if the offer is activated after making the purchase.

      • Thanks.

I didn't receive this kind of email.

    • +1

After activating and it confirms the front page banner still says "Activate now". Is there any way to check you have actually activated the offer?

      • Yeah mine does the same - hopefully it's working OK

      • +1

Had the same issue but purchased anyways and the points already show so you should be safe.

  • +4

    OMG I bought Ryzen 2700x + X470 Mobo + 32gigs ram and I paid $1192 !!!!

I cancelled order this morning and I bought it again for this deal!

I just checked my account and I got 26,660 Flybuys point!! it's about $133 worth! sweetttttt!!

    • Someone's keen.

I mean I'm so happy for you!!! You just saved a heap of money!! And got so many flybuys points!!

    • +1

Gee that's some fast points tracking - I made a purchase last night right after I posted the deal and there's nothing in the account yet…

Did you just check via the flybuys website?

        • +1

Yeah nothing as yet - weird that other people have there points already tracked…

      • I don't think you can get the point if you made a transaction yesterday. This is because I bought them yesterday too. when I look at my account there was no flybuys points this morning.

I canceled my order and I made it this morning again.

        Then I got the points.

        • This was about 1am when the deal was live as i'd already posted it and activated ;)

    • I did the same and waiting for mine… strange as I read the TC below

*Bonus Points will not be awarded on any amount spent on postage or delivery charges or any other ancillary charges not included in the Eligible Item price.
*Bonus Points will be credited to your flybuys account within 30 days from the date the Eligible Item is purchased.
*If you receive a refund for any reason on your transaction, the awarded Bonus Points will be reversed in your flybuys account, usually within 30 days of the refund.

    • Takes about 2-5 weeks for me for bonus points to show up

    • are you ebay plus member ? apparently its 40x if you are.

  • Does anyone know if luggage is excluded from this deal as it falls under the travel category?

    • Depends on what category the item is listed under. You can find that on the item page up the top under the search bar.

  • +1

    Thanks for the heads up

Bought my Breville BES870CRN the Barista Express from ebay

It was $699.00 minus the 5% off using the PENNY5 code which took it down to $664.05 and then I signed up to the ebay plus trial so I can get 20 flyby points for every $1 spent so I ended up earning 14.024 points so that's $70.00 off of my next coles shop so technically I only ended up paying $594.05 for it so I'm happy with that

  • CashBack is reporting it's 40x for eBay Plus Members and 20X for non-members. I can't seem to confirm this anywhere else?

    https://www.shopback.com.au/ebay-australia

    • Wow…40x, which is 20% off

      • Sorry to disappoint, but it’s only 10%.

        Standard rate = 1 point per $2
        40x = 40 points per $2
40 points equates to 20 cents in flybuys dollars, so
        $0.20 per $2 = 10%.

        • But ebay plus gives 1 point per $1

        • @padman: True, plus members earn twice the points.
This offer is for 20x points (20 points per $1 for plus members). I believe the 40x points referred to above is based on the standard rate, otherwise plus members would be earning points at 4x the rate of a regular member.

        • +1

          @headphonejack:

Indeed. The OP has stated that the 20x rate effectively equates to a 10% discount. This, however, is only true for Plus members, for everyone else it's just 5%.

        • +3

          You're correct.

        • +1

          @ash2000:

          Updated - cheers

    • wow

  • great

  • Where is an 10% off Ebay sitewide coupon when you need it to stack with this…

  • Sorry, just need head up, can we use PENNY5 5% off code + this offer, technically 15% off, is it correct? Thanks

    • YES, it works!

  • +2

I just wanted to post that the 5000 point limit DOES NOT APPLY.
Just made a purchase of around $850 and i received 17,000 flybuys points (Ebay Plus).

  • +2

Ebay need to do a sitewide 10% or 15% off for today only for ebay plus members. That will get more people to sign up.
Hopefully tightarse is on the case with his connections.

    • I would definitely signup for a 10%-15% off sitewide today.

  • How long does it take for the bonus points to appear in your account?

Purchased something from Officeworks ebay store for $395…. received the 395 points straight away but not the Bonus points (20X - ebay plus member).

    thoughts?

    • Did you activate the promo?

      • +1

I thought that I had, but maybe that was just "linking" the accounts.

I placed a 2nd order just now and the 7,900 points have come up in the account straight away.

I called Officeworks and cancelled the 1st order.

        winning.

      • In my ebay plus dashboard it says I have collected 38,00 points on ebay, However I am second guessing myself that I ever pressed activate offer.

Would these transactions I made today show up in my fly buys transactions or in my flybuys points balance straight away?

  • If my logic is right this is better than 10% off the purchase price if you're going to claim TRS?

    • Not many difference.

If you buy $300 of item with 10% off code, you pay $270 and ebay pay the rest.
So seller receive $300 and send you Tax invoice of $300.

If you take this offer you pay $300 and receive $30 worth of flybuy points when you are ebay plus with Tax invoice of $300.

      • Different is you need to pay $300 to get $30 worths of points and not saving cash on this one. If it is 10% off you only pay $270 and you will get ~$30 back from the government
