I got this last time it was on special a few months back. Bloody thing leaks oil from the nozzle. Maybe it's broken? Pretty useless if its this messy.

They don't leak, take it back

Mine doesn't leak either - I use rice bran oil if that makes any difference ie viscosity.

      • I've used three oils so far in the same one. Sunflower, peanut, and rice bran. It made no difference.

    • I have 2 that I have had for at least 6 months that don't leak.

Mine leaks too… So we barley use it
I use olive oil in there if it makes a difference?

    • Half the olive oil that came out dribbled down the trigger but no drip on water. Obviously this sprayer cannot handle viscous liquid. Took it back for a refund.

      • I think extra virgin olive oil especially would have a higher viscosity than other oils. Maybe try a different oil.

        • I use mine with extra virgin olive oil and it works a treat…love this gadget

        • @debo: Any tips? Mine's got a bit of EVOO but it's been an absolute bitch… I have to squeeze the trigger many times for the oil to come up and eventually it sprays but then it dribbles as well.

Like I initially tried it with water and it worked beautifully, nice fine mist… but once I loaded up EVOO, it went to shit.

i've had mine for over a year, no drip with olive oil

    • yeah this got great reviews last time, and people still stand by it, but i wasn't impressed with this when I got it recently. I'm wondering whether they made a slightly faulty batch, and are just trying to offload them and claim all the refunds on insurance

Just take it back, Woolies is very easy for replacements/refunds.

I got this last time and the spray is really wide , it sprays all over nearby hobs when using medium pans

    • +2

Agree mine does the same ie it's much wider than a normal aerosol can - I try to spray with it closer to the pan or do it in the sink and/or just put up with it. My stove top can always do with a clean afterwards anyhow. :-)

I use it from tiny single egg pans to full size pans and have not had a problem. I just control the distance to the pan.

  • Mine only sprays in a jet (ie. not a fine mist). Has been that way since new, and I didn't keep the receipt.

Got in touch with them on FB, they sent another one out but I never got it, so got in touch again, and they said they'll send another… still haven't got it (nearly 2 weeks since the second one was sent)

Buy another and use that receipt to return the faulty one

  • Does anyone know of a refillable oil spray bottle that can be used over 100 times every day, for oiling pizza pans? And that won't leak and will give roughy the same measure of oil each time.

One designed for commercial cleaning would probably be the best. I don't know if it would be considered food safe…

Probably better off with a cup of oil and a decent sized brush. No matter what spray bottle you use, there will be over spray which after 100 pizza pans is likely to be messy and wasteful. A brush will be less messy, probably faster, and give good even coverage. Can also have a hunt for "oil mop" or "basting mop" - sometimes also called a marinade mop in BBQ supplies. The oil mop may be even faster, although is likely to use more oil.

      Thanks Yoda

  • I had a look for this last time it was on special but couldn't find it anywhere, any one know what section I should be focusing on?

    • It should be in the Kitchen utensils section

  • At checkout this scanned 4.something few weeks ago

These are helpful for those that use airfryers and want to give something a light coat.

  • Depending on which oil you use, oil is in no way "unhealthy."
