Dyson V8 Animal $579 (with $10 off Coupon) Free Standard Delivery (HK) @ DWI Digital Cameras

50
GOOG10

Had a look around and found this V8 Animal at a decent price. Can’t vouch for the store but the price is at a good point (not the cheapest ever, but a current bargain)
Put in my state SA and metro postcode and got free standard shipping and $9.95 premium express. Premium express with insurance is $21.90 (upper limit of shipping cost for me).

Note from checkout on the site:
Express shipping does not qualify the order to be dispatched in 1 working day, it just expedites the transit times only after dispatch.

**SPECIAL NOTE: Shipping Insurance is Highly Recommended for cover of product value against loss or damage during transit. For non-insured Damaged/Lost Shipment orders, they WILL NOT be Eligible for Full Refund of product value nor Replacement.

For non-insured Damaged/Lost Shipment orders, they WILL NOT be Eligible for Full Refund of product value nor Replacement.

Yes they will considering they accept PayPal and credit cards where delivery is their responsibility.

    • Scummy company. Would avoid for that.

  • Bought from them a few years ago and was okay. But didn't have to make any warranty claim so not sure what they are like for that.

Use the code GOOG10 for $10 off. GOOG20 for $20 off for orders over $700.

Not that good a deal at all. I got mine for $479 in June. Sub $550 deals for the V8 Animal are common.

    • I bought the V8 absolute+ for $550 last week from Goodguys.

From memory it doesn't come with a hard floor attachment (soft roller), so the Animal is pretty much useless. Even in heavily carpeted households, the kitchen and wet areas need vacuuming.

How Dyson can sell a $550 (on sale) vacuum that can't do hard floors is beyond me. Scumbags!

As an aside, we bought the v10 and although I've barely used it yet I find it to have much better suction. The three power levels and bigger battery are also an improvement. Some people don't like the emptying mechanism but I think it's good. I'd definitely get the v10 over the v8.

    • This is why I come to this site (apart from spending on things I don't want) that is learning from everyone. Just one valued opinion.

    • The slim motorised head does hard floors.

Now just wait. You totally can use the V8 Animal on hard floors and it'll do a good job. Is the V8 Absolute attachment better? Well yeah, but calling the Animal useless is just wrong.

      • I had read it tends to scratch floorboards. I would imagine it scratches anything but tiles. So ok, can tone my comment down a bit because I had a brainfart with wet areas as they will generally be tiled, but the comment is still relevant to anywhere with real floorboards, veneer floorboards, (possibly lino?)

        • I have a V6 and laminated floorboards, no scratching whatsoever.

The V8 Animal is fine to use on hard floors, its perfectly good on tiles. The soft roller attachment on the Absolute model prevents scratches on wooden floors, thats it. If you dont have wooden floors, save yourself the cash and get the Animal.

As for the V10 being better, I hope to god it is better given the big price difference. The V8 is excellent bang for buck, and better value for money imho. I just upgraded to the V8 having used a DC59 for around 3 years and I am extremely happy with it.
