I don't think we can buy from Amazon US website anymore, it has to go via Amazon AU. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Can someone tell me why these kinds of keyboards are good compared to a regular one? Besides the obvious back lit

    • Mechanical keyboards use mechanical switches instead of a membrane like your standard el cheapo keyboard.

There's different switches that have different tactile feedback, audible feedback and sensitivity.

A mechanical keyboard you only need to press a key until it clicks, rather than 'bottoming out' like a membrane keyboard, that means fewer typos and faster typing.

Some also feature programmable keys, which can be useful for automation.

  • Hi OP, thx for sharing, does this keyboard use Cherry MX Red switches? Or Gigabyte's own red switches?

    • I'm not sure. Some reviews say they're "MX Red" and some say they're "Gigabyte Red".

      • Gigabyte page says GB Red Switches.

Not really fair, indeed there are some pretty inconsistent reports as to what the switches are, Google isn't helping.

    • According to most of the pre-release reviews, Cherry MX Red switches are used. But some users found Gigabyte RED TTC switches instead of Cherry MX.

  • anyone knows what does "Manufacturer warranty may not apply but you may have other rights under law." mean? would there be any warranty for this in Australia?

    • The ACL covers you for any purchase, even ones from international sellers.

Enforcing the ACL on Australian companies is easy.
Enforcing the ACL on international companies is much harder.

Gigabyte may offer a global warranty but I cant get their warranty page to load

  • Not available anymore.

I bought one 18 minutes ago, so I might have scored the last one. I did notice it said 1 left.

  • For me it comes up as 163$ and not from amazon us

i'm think the deal is no more ,show up at normal price to me.

  • I just need a similarly discounted gaming mouse to go with this.

  • Finished now :(

  • Signed up for Amazon prime membership (currently on trial) but cant seem to see the reduced price. Anyone know why?

If you guys are still after it, check back each day as they've been restocking it frequently. I hesitated in posting it because it went out of stock in 2 minutes after I posted it a couple days ago. So, I put it in the insufficient stock thread because I've been seeing it go in and out of stock each day.

  • Following the OP link, I just purchased the K83 Blue for $60.86. Now I don't know anything about Cherry switches, or mechanical keyboards for that matter, but according to the spiel on the Amazon page, the K83 has "CHERRY MX mechanical switches".

  • just bought this right now :)

  • THIS IS BACK IN STOCK. I can't report it as back in stock as I reported it out of stock late yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Expiry removed

  • The one with red switches is $142.90 :(

  • I can confirm they are not out of stock now.
