Well. It's back. Similar deal to 2016 and 2017 with a few changes. Taken from the page:

  • Can't login through the grilld app. Tried siging up and it said that my phone number already associated with other account. When I tried to forget password, it also says that my phone number already associated with other account. What's wrong with this app!?! FML

    • Had the same problem. Used a friend's phone number to activate the app but still couldn't get the voucher.
      I suspect that people who have problems are the ones who participated last year and had their phone number linked to the last year's account. Then registered a new account forgetting about the old one with the same phone number and that is where trouble started.

      • I'm having problems but didn't get involved with the promotion last year.

        • So it might be something else then. Did you have problems with activating the account through your phone number at all?

        • Had this issue and emailed above, but still had to uninstall and reinstall the app and apply a different phone number even though my account was deleted.

  • Just tried on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and also no luck. So it seems to be an account issue not a device issue.

  • For those of you who have used the voucher already, do you still see the voucher showing on your app home screen? And is it the same colour?

  • No QR code received. Got the confirmed Polished Man participation email. Tried reinstalling the app, logging in and out. No success.

  • It's obviously a technical issue. So I wonder what we poor hungry people have in common.
    - It's not our devices, unless my Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 both are in the list of troublesome devices. Then again they're so common that it's unlikely.
    - Login method is not relevant as I've tried all.
    - Some have participated in the past but I haven't.
    - Some had issues with the same phone number being used to log into Grill'd before but i didn't have that issue.
    - Are we all the same age??? Maybe we're in a high risk category for heart failure. :)

    • I had no issues, using android, not apart of the ozbargain team.

      Just saw the voucher there, and took it in store.

    • My bet: they have been sending out the same QR codes multiple times. Once one of them has been redeemed it disappears for everyone else who got the same code.

      That explains why one person saw a code and it wasn't there 20 minutes later.

      • We're using the one smartphone for logging in. My login/code redemption worked just fine and I have a burger redemption. My husband's password isn't being accepted and has changed it 4 times. I hesitate to reinstall the app just in case my account doesn't work afterwards.

        We've sent an email to [email protected] and can wait for a reply but just hoping for an easy solution on the board.

        • You're using the same instance of the app? That would likely explain the problem.

          If you've got a modern Android version, set up a second user for your husband. Then if things still go wrong you can 'clear data, clear cache' through the app manager and try again. No need to uninstall the app.

          • @team teri: Thanks for the advice about adding a second user, I'll try that.

            Just as an FYI, I use Parallel Space for cloning apps and I haven't had a problem with any of the 10 apps I've cloned. Neither he nor I can sign in on the cloned Grill'd app.

            Additionally, we don't have a SIM in the phone and are connecting via wifi, only, so it's not that my account is connected to this phone with a phone number.

    they haven't sorted it out but sent me a QR code via email to use today.

      • I sent them a fb message and then they asked me to go onto their side and submit feedback. Then we had a bit of an email conversation while they tried to sort it out. In the end they just gave me a QR code.

        Then they wrote to me and confirmed that it was a technical issue on their end (as I suspected an issue with my account not my app or device). They reset my device and asked me to sign up again. They gave me a new code and it worked.

        Note that I couldn't sign in via email (I got an unexpected error) but it worked when I signed in via Google. i just had to re-enter a few personal details.

  • How busy were the Melb cbd outlets during last year’s deal? It’s a bit annoying when you have to spend almost full lunch break in queue to redeem a deal.
    (Talking from experience with past deals for hungry jacks, papparich, …)

  • I stuffed up when signing up for this, and used an email I cannot access. Still, a few people went ahead with donations in total $30 but I have no way to receive the Grill’d voucher code because the Polished Man website does not let me change the email I used - nor does there seem to be any form of Support 🤦🏼‍♂️ can anyone possibly help? Hungry here!

      • Same here. I mistakenly used the same email that I used to donate to OZB, and now I can’t receive another code because I signed up to Polished Man using the same code…..duh moment….

        The support gave me me old code instead, which has already been used. Raised additional donation but can’t access the burgers…..

    Can't believe they're managed to cock this up again for a third year in a row. Each year I've had seperate issues with their app and the whole process. This time I can't change my password on my Grill'd app. Hooray.

    I know it's for charity etc. but I almost feel like it's not worth it for the whole burger thing.

        Hi Kylie. I've just got a code directly from thought I'd let you know that a key problem is not where people don't get the email with the code but where the code is applied and seems to work, but we don't get a QR code in the app.

            • @fuzor: It looks like Grill'd has found the cause so send them feedback (and maybe a fb message) and they should be able to fix it.

      I sent them 'feedback' a couple hours ago and not yet had any response.

      • Try Facebook ‘Polished Man’ they are very receptive!

        • Will they resolve grilld app issue? I don't think so.

          • @ProBoDoBo: Yes, the issue is with Grill'd. I doubt that Polished Man can do much.

      • I sent them a facebook message then they asked me to send feedback. So I presume that they were looking out for it because of the facebook message.

    • Same here. If you want to use a certain phone number for your Grill app account you firstly need to delete an account associated with that number. Grilled deleted the second account, but I deleted the original account I created last year by myself, and that solved all of the issues.

  • Is a bluetooth connection going to be enough to access the app? I'm in the middle of a mobile phone saga and have no sim card. Wifi at home/work is working just fine with the app but don't know if I'll need a sim+credit to access the app in the Penrith store.

        There's no QR code, just an image that looks like a ticket with a code on the side and REDEEM at the bottom of the ticket.

    So I just went into my local store to redeem a voucher. It ended up with me being kicked out. Read on OzBargainers.

    Hi,

    I wanted to bring to your attention some problems I had when I attempted to redeem a voucher at your Norwood store.

    I entered the store and asked the employee behind the register about the Polished Man vouchers, I asked "can I choose any burger" she said "I'm not sure, lets find out". At which point another employee came up to the register on the dining side and said "you can have any burger you want but first you have to paint your nails" and sternly planted a bottle of nail polish onto the counter, I said "I'm not doing that" he said "you have to", I said "I'm not going to do that". This exchange went back and forth several times as he continued to plant the nail polish on the counter, I grew more frustrated and he grew more defensive. I then said in a personally un-directed and relatively placid tone "this is bullshit".

    He then told me "it's on the website, check the terms and conditions", so I did. I then said "ok I have, here they are" and read aloud sentence that definitively covers the matter. He said "ok, but I don't appreciate you bringing your attitude in here and swearing at me" I was taken aback and was done with being civilised, so I said "now you're just being a dick" he said "just leave" I said "I am leaving and complaining, go (profanity) yourself". This time in a personally directly and less placid tone.

    I went to the Adelaide store and redeemed the voucher.

    On my way home I decided I wanted to give the guy another chance, I work in the service industry so I empathise with the stress it can place you under. So I went back into the store and asked the employee if they wanted to talk about what happened. He said "I'll talk but don't swear at me", I said "I'm not going to, but you were clearly in the wrong and you doubled down, you should have apologised" he said "I did apologise, I said I'm wrong and I'm sorry" This was either a lie or a fantasy and I knew I wasn't going to resolve this by talking to him if he was going to try and gaslight me. I said "what's your name" he said "Craig".

    • LOL WOW! I don't know why you went back. Best to just send an email to Corporate stating the store and the employee and ask for compensation.
