Conversations that inspires donations. Donations that allows for trauma recovery and trauma prevention for children around the world. Because it shouldn't hurt to be a child. Help end violence against children.

Similar thing happened to me, they weren't willing to negotiate on the nail paint.. literally wiped it off as soon as they were satisfied.

      • -1

WTF. There is no way I would let dumb employees put chemicals all over my hands when it is not required for this promotion (and then use aforementioned hands to eat a messy burger). You need to get some balls and ask for a manager next time. Get them to point out in the terms and conditions of this promotion where it states that is mandatory, otherwise note down their names and complain to Corporate so they get justice for their lack of knowledge.

Thankfully, the store I went to offered a great customer experience not involving any of that.

        • +2

Eh, I don't mess with people who make my food. Even if it were to never happen, it's a thought that goes into my mind whilst I eat said food.

          • @EDM: Where does it say you have to paint the nail?

I went with a friend. Didn't paint, weren't asked to paint. We bought drinks and chips as well so maybe that's why.

            • @El Grande: The person taking my order said it was required to get the free burger. They had the bottle of nail polish in a cardboard Polished Man display on the checkout - not sure what it read, will check tomorrow.

              • +1

                @EDM:

                1. To redeem your free burger, you must present your QR code on the Grill’d App for scanning at the register at the time of placing your order. You do not need to demonstrate one painted fingernail to redeem your free burger. If your burger QR code is unreadable for any reason, our friendly restaurant staff will do their best to work something out, but please understand if we can’t process the burger QR code on the spot and need to refer you to our support team to resolve the issue.
                • +3

@Jay408: Thanks, I realise it is not actually required as part of the promotion but I'm not one to cause a fuss over a bit of paint.

    • I had a young staffer tell me the same at Norwood today. I just said no thanks he was insistent but I just said I'll be at table 6.

Came to read this thread to see if there were issues like mine.

  • Unfortunately no Grill'd in my area :(

    • +1

      Any codes to share? :p

      • Didn't do the donation lol.

  • Seems to be a glitch on the website so be careful everyone!

Donated and got a message saying there was an error and to try again. Tried about 4 times with the same error popping up and now my card has been charged all 4 times….

    • +1

Sorry to hear that! Please email us at [email protected] and we will get those refunded straight away! :)

      • Not a problem! issue was resolved quickly but just wanted to make sure others knew about it in case they had a similar issue :)

  • I used mine for lunch the code is still available. Can I get another one for dinner? Also, anyone else still has the code available?

    • It's still showing in my app, yes. Let us know if yours works, ok.

        1. Burger QR codes contain a single-use code that will be deactivated as soon as the burger QR code is redeemed in a restaurant. Please take care to protect your burger QR code and avoid distributing copies or screenshots, to prevent unauthorised use.
  • When do they nornally send the daily codes out? I didn't get a chance to us ermine yesterday as I bought lunch but was hoping to us it today.

    • +1

You voided it yesterday, bucko. You can still use the new one today.

      • +1

It is stated in the promotion T&Cs from 10AM.

  • 10.31 am and no code(s).

Update: it's preloaded in the app

  • So i only register & donate today which means i missed the code for yesterday. Can i still claim 8 burgers in total, like 2 burgers for today or it has to be one each Tue/Wed over 4 weeks?

    • No. Read the t and cs where it is all clearly written.

  • Signed up and entered the code and didn't get one for today (yes after 10am)
Someone else in the office signed up after me and put it in and got a code for today.

Maybe I will get one next week….

  • -1

Got my code yesterday. But how do i know today's redemption code has updated?? I cant tell by the qr code but the number alongside the redeem now button on the home page is still the same. Does that mean i havent been issued a new code for today?? If so the app and all is clearly not working.

Someone at work signed up yesterday and entered his activation and didnt even get a code today…

    • Sounds like it's an issue with your app. Simply get in touch with Grill'd and they will be able to get it sorted - https://www.grilld.com.au/feedback

      • yeap, for others there is an alarm bell top right where the 'notification' generates a qr code. Still, someone at work got no code on the home page altogether.

Unfortunately the grill'd app and from this page you can see… is clearly not the best designed. I think the prior years method of just emaling through burger codes or at least makign it easier to get your unique code would have been much easier.

  • Tried to get one take away but got told that the offer is only available for eat ins. Anyone else had this issue?

    • +1

It is actually part of the T&C specifying eat in only.

    • +7
      1. Order
      2. Sit down
      3. Burger arrives
      4. Wrap burger in provided napkin (or bring own container)
      5. Walk out

      😉

    • +1

Try this, might work for you too. Don't show them the voucher, just say what burger you would like then say you would like it take-away, then when they say the price, show them the free burger QR code. As they've already inputted take away they may not bother trying to force you to dine in.

    • Go at closing time. They are more than happy to offer take away.

    • depends on the server i think. the person at the counter today asked me if i'd like it to be taken away, although i declined.

maybe just say you are in a rush to go somewhere?

    • They asked me dine in or take away after I'd already told them I had the code. I said take away, then they told me I couldn't use the code if it was take away. I just went with eat in. I'd get chips and a drink if I could get takeaway, but I only really have time to eat the burger before my train.

  • My QR code today and my code form yesterday were exactly the same

  • Day 2 and still no voucher.
Sent Feedback yesterday and again this morning but no response from Grilld yet.
    Checked spam folders.
    Reinstalled app.
    Reset password.
    Still no luck.

    • What do you mean. Did you get an email titled "High five for free burgers"?

      • Yes, got that code and entered it into the app a couple of weeks ago.
But did not get the free burger voucher on Tue or Wed.

        • Hi There. If you're having issues with the Grill'd app please contact them directly and they will get you sorted ahead of the two FREE burgers for this week (tomorrow and Wednesday) - https://www.grilld.com.au/feedback

          • +1

@KyliePolishedMan: Mate sent them an e-mail last Monday and there still hasn't been a response from them. Polished Man have been very responsive though.

            • @senzuri: So sorry to hear that! Did you put through info onto their website - https://www.grilld.com.au/feedback?? Cheers Kylie.

              • @KyliePolishedMan: I'm also not receiving vouchers even though I get the "Thanks for lending a hand" message in the app under Polished Man. I gave feedback and received a text stating that I would receive the vouchers. (9th October). Still no vouchers.

Get up to 16 free burgers (You & Your Friend)

    You guys are legends!!!

    • +2

Wonder why the mods removed it from the OP

      • +2

Like to know too. It still works and is a part of their terms and conditions and even their advertising:

        Edit: Thanks to (benjamin):

Get up to 16 free burgers (You & Your Friend):

        • Join Polished Man but do not donate to yourself
        • Get a friend to donate $20 to your page, and while doing so click the link requesting free burgers
        • Wait for your email titled "High five for free burgers" that includes your code for the free burgers
        • Add the code to the app, then..

To clarify: both you and your friend get the free burgers for donating once.

  • +5

For anyone who is not having the voucher appear on the homepage I had not ticked “are you 18 or over?” In the grill’d app (click MORE and MY ACCOUNT) as soon as this was ticket the voucher appeared!

    • do you need to log in using the email you used for the donation?

      • No I dont think it makes a difference if you used a different email when donating on the Polished Man site to the email address you have registered with grill’d. Mine however is the same.

  • Has anyone got their QR code for today?

    • I got the code today.

  • App seems broken.. perhaps overloaded

    • Despite failing to load multiple times today, the app is now showing my code. Bit late for lunch! Suspect they had backend issues.

  • +3

Redeemed today just fine. Protip: turn the stick on your table so the white side is up and they won't bother you while you're eating to ask how your meal is.

  • Anyone got a spare code for today?

  • Seen a lot of sourpuss, entitled FOMO-fueled comments in this thread. Protip - activate your accounts and enter your codes in advance of the deals start day if possible. I did it on the weekend, got the error in regards to my mobile already being known, couldn't login etcetc Messages Grill'd on their facebook and they responded and sorted it out for me within an hour - on a Sunday no less. A+ response

Anyway, all stores very adament about dining in only. Have not been able to trick them yet. Just about to do the BYO container trick myself and commenting while I wait.

Tonight as I'm ordering one chef told the waiter that they were out of tomato. Ummm I know you guys have specific suppliers but you're a burger joint in a shopping mall during a busy promotional period. Run down to Woolies when you start to notice you're getting low?

Anyway wouldn't be a issue but they were unable to substitute in ANYTHING else without charging me extra. That's pretty silly. I just want some lettuce or extra beetroot if I must. Seeing as I am going without part of the standard order through no fault of my own. Somehow someway the guy found an option to add extra onions for free which I accepted because a line was forming behind me and he seemed stuck on how to handle this situation better.

I asked him does that mean I can add onions, or get extra onions on any burger in the future and he was like "ummmm…I can neither confirm or deny that. I wouldn't know and can't say" something like that? Anyway I'll be asking for extra onions next Tuesday and asking if there will be additional charge for it.

    • Anyway, all stores very adament about dining in only. Have not been able to trick them yet

Just phone in a takeaway order … if they kick up a stink when you get there, just walk away … pretty sure they'd rather give you the burges than waste them.

      • I don't want to grief these guys that hard. I actually want my burger and don't want to feel like an (profanity).

      • +2

Just phone in a takeaway order … if they kick up a stink when you get there, just walk away … pretty sure they'd rather give you the burges than waste them.

This would just deter grilld from doing this promotion again…

        • This would just deter grilld from doing this promotion again…

You actually think the marketing department (who comes up with the promotion) actually talks to front line staff to find out how many people pulled this kind of stunt to get a take away burger?

Surely, bringing your own takeaway box or taking the burger away in a napkin would irk them the same way.

I don't think there's that many people who want to get takeaway/delivery from grill'd, but that's just based on my anecdotal evidence that I've seen at a few outlets in Sydney. Majority of the customers were unaware of the promotion and the ones that are using it, seem to be eating in.

          • +2

@salmon123: Or just abide by the terms and conditions given the fact that your already getting 8 free burgers for your 'charitable' donation? Surely it can't be that hard to dine int, failing that and you want to try taking away in a container sure.. but no need to cause grief or piss people off by trying to call their bluff by walking out on a burger you ordered in spite of the t & c's (particularly as your knowingly trying to flout the system).

  • I'm curious.

If you screenshot the voucher before is disappears the next day, does it remain active?

  • This is hilarious. My local store is closed specifically today and tomorrow due to renovations. What a coincidence

  • +3

Just redeemed my 6th of 8 burger. There has been a few issues it seems from the posts above so I just wanted to comment to say that my experience has been very positive - every Tues and Wed a new voucher appears at the top of my app, and staff at multiple stores have scanned it without a problem (and seem very friendly as well, although it is a little forced). Fantastic promotion!

    • I am redeeming burger 6/8 too, no issues so far.
And actually last night I was able to scan my code twice for two free burgers… not sure if that was a glitch or if the codes aren't 'single use' as they should be, will probably try again tonight.

      • I didn't try double-dipping on the same code again, but I did use Tuesday's code on Wednesday and it worked fine. Just FYI if anyone's curious.

        • I tried dbl dipping for lunch and dinner but showed up voucher already redeemed.

          • +1

@andyman1908: I wonder if there's a lag between scanning the code and their backend updating that it's been used. Use at lunch and then try again at dinner = too long and it expires. Use with two different people around lunchtime and possibly it works. I don't condone this, just discussing the nature of the deal redemption while the promo is almost over and there's less chance of people rorting it.

    • +1

Yeah, it feels as genuine as "Hallo Ma'm Sir!" in Filipino hospitality. After the 4th visit I felt like flippin' the red-and-white stick myself when I see him coming and saying everything's just fine and dandy thanks. I think if you only visited once in a while it would be refreshing (it's a bit like a restaurant run by polite uni students).

All the stores know that most people doing this are no-nonsense and just want the burger and to move on with their day. Now due to their eat-in only policy they're making full-paying groups of customers not have places to sit at peak hour while OzBargainers take up tables due to forced public-eating.

      • +1

late to this comment but - I've been instructed before to flip the stick myself if I don't wish to be approached post-serve mid-eat. It's a little known quirk of their system, just like adding onions to your burger for free

  • Do we get an ozbargain badge if we go 8/8?

    • +1

      then should I get a gold/diamond badge for 16/16?

  • Does anyone else think the burgers seem a bit smaller at the moment? (or in the past few months)

    • +1

I thought this… but also thought maybe I just got hungrier :P

    • +1

Haven't noticed, or can't tell. Still feels filling to me

  • +2

Today marks a sad day. The last free Grill'd burger.

Who redeemed all 8? I, am proud to be one!

    • After today all 8 will be redeemed. Only had to gift 1 as i was away from work

    • There is a good chance that it'll happen next year! Something to look forward to friend.

    • Redeemed all 8 too!

    • 8 here

  • +2

How do I get over Grill’d withdrawals now. Will have to wait a year to hopefully have more.

    • … burgers from the local fish and chips?

  • 8/8 for me.

  • Oh I thought it was the whole month.
Now I'll do the same thing as last time and try to re-create the burgers at home for cheap.
