It says voucher must be activated by 10 Nov but sim can be activated after. Does that mean the 30 days begins when the sim is activated or when the voucher is activated?

Also limit 2 per person. Does that mean I can use one voucher then after it finishes I can activate the other voucher using the same personal details?

    • +2

SIM is unconnected to the voucher until activation. SIM expiry has no bearing on what you are buying which is the 32GB and that expires with the voucher code if unactivated by said date.

      • I still dont understand how this works.
I just bought the sim plan from Groupon, they gonna send me a sim card and they already gave me a voucher

What i dint understand is how voucher is used. Do i use the voucher to purchase the 32GB plan from kogan? and how is that unconnected to sim activation?

The question above pertained to 2 different expiry dates. The voucher expires and the SIM expires at different times. The point is that the only expiry that is relevant to the buyer in real terms is the voucher. The SIM may not expire for years (I can tell you that it doesn't) but that has no bearing on what you spent $3.90 to buy which is your 32GB to use over 30 days and the ability to use this purchase is contingent on you using that voucher you got in a Kogan email before the expiry date on the voucher.

If you don't activate your 32GB before the voucher expiry date then you have lost the value of that purchase. The fact that you can use that Kogan SIM to connect on some other voucher you buy at a later date is pretty well irrelevant to you at this point.

        • You are not making things clearer with your replies but thank you for trying anyway.

My question: Can i activate the vouchers before 10 Nov, use one sim from 10 Nov until 10 Dec and then use the second sim from 10 Dec until 10 Jan?

          Is that possible?

        • @nikoris: What are your voucher expiry dates?

If they expire after Dec 10 then the answer to your question is yes but you have to be able activate the second voucher after the first one either expires (30 days from activation) or its data is spent.

If you activate both vouchers at the same time then you will have both 2 seperate numbers and 2 sets of data allowances that expire at the same time, 30 days from activation.

The deal says that all vouchers must be activated by 10 Nov but the sim can be activated at a later date

          Copy-paste from groupon:

          • Redeem by: 10 Nov 2018
          • Your voucher must be activated by 10 Nov 2018 as it expires at 11.59:59pm on 10 Nov 2018 (AEDT)
          • Although your voucher must be activated by 10 Nov 2018 , the SIM card itself is able to be activated after that date, but must be activated within 365 days of purchase - if you wait longer, it may not work

          Whatdo you think?

@nikoris: Forget the SIM expiry. it is utterly irrelvant to your question.

You want to activate a voucher after it's expiry date and the answer is no you cannot. The latest you can activate that voucher is Nov 10.

        • Thank you very much my friend, i'll just buy one sim

        • @nikoris: No worries, Kogan have deals all the time so you'll have another chance before too long regardless.

  • Kogan is the best. Ruslan is super awesome

  • With kogan, can you continuously just keep buying their cheap sims and make a new number?
So i dont have to port out and in, as I am using it just for data.

    • +1

Yes, it's perfect if you have a dual Sim phone

      • thanks for the response,

also is there a limit to how many active numbers i have?
because I'm thinking i would have to cancel my used up sims somehow.

        • You have to call them to cancel the sims, eventually they will stop activating you lol (just a guess)

  • I bought a sim via the buy 1 get 1 free. Which hasn’t been activated.

I wanted to test out Voda network. Can I buy this and then use the Buy 1 get 1 free ?

    • Yes. Buy one get one is voucher plan, and is not restricted to new customers only.

      • that's wrong. buy 1 get 1 free is only for new customer. so make sure you dont port over to Kogan with your main number, just activate this 32gb $3.9 as new and test the network and throw the sim away and activate the buy 1 get 1 free

        • Whoops, well no problem then since buy 1 get 1 free still gives you new sim.

          • @Bigboomboom: Could always port to another carrier then port back. Lots of trouble but gets around the new customer bit if you have time and effort to waste lol

$3.51 with code "weekend" and of course cashback to save a few more cents

  • For those who have purchased from this deal, how long does the voucher take to arrive?

    • im not sure where to even find mine. it says it's on the groupon but https://media.giphy.com/media/20k1punZ5bpmM/giphy.gif?cid=36…

edit : log into your browser w/ u groupon account and look for the groupon and there will be an option to 'view voucher'

      • There's no code or anything in mine..

Edit: nevermind, it was there all along, just had to go onto desktop site.

Weird things is when I tried to reset password it was telling me my account never existed. Went into emails -> link to "My Groupon" and it worked fine without logging in, weird..

This is supposed to be a better deal than the $4.90 deal here but for some reason this has way less positive votes.

Probably because the $0.98 one came up in between these two deals.

  • New Customers to Groupon, or new customers to Kogan, or both ?

  • I wish I could pickup Kogan SIMs…
