This one is 5.1 vs 2.1ch, 360w vs 200w, I'd assume there would be a great difference but i don't own either, maybe someone that owns the 5.1 could clarify?
5.1 gives you more of that surround sound feeling when watching movies, I think the technology to accomplish this has been improved in this model over the M360 you also get more speakers.
this has an RRP of $796, and you are comparing it to something that has an RRP $299?
I have the N650 and its very good, especially when compared to the other sound bars it blew them away (make sure they change the sound mode of standard to any other option)
as radem12 mentioned, you cant compare $299 2.1 (beefed up tv speaker) to $796 5.1 surround sound

Thinking of moving to this. Have a newish Yamaha YSP2700 but just doesn't suit my room. Wonder if this is a better option. Also with the optional rears life would be better I assume/

I’d imagine it would be a downgrade going from the 2700. We have one as well and t doesn’t suit our room as it’s not 4 walls to bounce the signal around but damn it sounds better than any other sound bar I’ve heard. It might not have that deep farty bass cheaper sound bars have but to me it sounds more cinematic which >bass
Before you finalize your mind, consider to give an ear to JBL 5.1 or 3.1 once.
This is a good sounbar, I bought it two months ago for $549 from The Good guys.
Its steal at this price.

The T stand was no good for our tv unit
I dont think you can balance on top of T stand. You can keep in front, if there is enough space on ur tv unit
Just saw it balanced on the T stand at TGG at Home HQ in Artarmon LOL. Unfortunately don't have enough space in front of the T stand =(
I asked TGG to price match appliance central website and got it down to $466 - $20 credit = $446. I know Ebay is cheaper but still this is available immediately.
I bought the M550 last year but found the bass pretty pathetic which seemed a common complaint online. Anyone know how this one will go compared and if it’s worth the upgrade?
