lmao, he legit copy and pasted what was inside the information box. So you can't be bothered to read the description provided, but someones comment thats the exact same thing?

        • +2

          Some people don't read

        • -1

          @Turd:

And some peoples can't comprehend sarcasm.

        • @Yummy: haha it's hard I guess. :D

    • +1

      I read it.
You just need to order in person after 12pm, first 30 customers can get a large Super Supreme in deep pan for free.

    • +3

The details to get a free pizza are here

      • +1

Can you please tell me what the link says? I can't be bothered clicking it

  • +3

Nearest one to me opens at 11am. Makes me wonder how they're going to manage the queue if people turn up before midday.

    • +4

They are recruiting queue management personnel from Aldi stores.

      • +2

Sounds like it will run with typical German efficiency then.

  • +41

    The first unemployed 30 people

    • +3

      No lunch break mate?

    • +3

Or, y'know, employed people on their lunch break.

      • +2

If you have to wait in a line up then 15min for a pizza to cook it'd be hard to get back to work within the half hr lunch break. I guess if you grab another pizza to give to your boss then you should be sweet haha

      • Break from what?

        • +3

The tasks that they are required to perform in exchange for fiat currency as stipulated in their employment contract.

        • +3

          Break from F5ing OzBargain.

    • +1

Side quest: count the number of people in the queue who are wearing thongs.

      • +6

        A thong*

        • +3

Is that because they lost one thong or only found one thong?

      • Phwoar, laughed cos that hits too close to home lol.

      • mate, where I live the flogs don't wear thongs, they'd rather spend their money on ice than buy them

        • +7

Must be hot where you live.

    • +9

Take one of those great aussie sickies. Worth it cause you are getting free stuff. Also, you might actually be sick afterwards.

  • +1

Is it 1 for the entire celebration, or can you get 2 if you camp out both days?

    • +4

      Pretty sure they're running 30 pizzas each store on both days. (30 x 2 x 292 = 17520)

      • +1

        To where the other 480 pizzas goes to? O_o;

        • +4

To hungry underpaid delivery drivers, and pizza makers.

  • +3

Is anyone going to camp outside pizza hut the night before?

    • -1

The ice addicts will, the majority of them live on the streets anyway.

      • +2

Not particularly as they don't eat

  • +5

The 31st people in line will be pissed off.

    • +10

      *person

      • +3

        people as in many stores

        • +4

          *persons

          • @kickling: *person

            • @tempura: *persons

              1 store's 31st person = person

Many stores' 31st person = persons

              • @kickling: Depend from what standpoint you look at it from :)

From each store perspective, it would've been 31st person.

    • +1

The worst thing is so when you got there you were in the first 30 but a few people bring plus ones (who rock up later) and you get bumped out!

      • effing queue jumpers.

  • +8

    Scenario 1

    1) line up at 11.30 am
    2) Collect your free pizza after midday

    Scenario 2

    1) order your pizza any time you like
    2) pay $7 or so with a coupon

Yep, don't want to miss this great deal

    • +2

      Lemme fix your Scenario 1

      1) line up at 11:30 am
      2) line already formed since 6 am
      3) you get tix #29
      4) collect your free pizza 2.5 hours later

  • +1

Can they put pineapple on it?

    • They were looking at doing that, but considering they would have to pay people to actually take them decided against it.

  • Damn nearest pizza hut is about an hour train ride away.. so few dollars to opal for free pizza.. hmm

    • Very dedicated to get a free pizza

      • +2

Oh yeah.. one day I dream of free delivered pizza.. that day will be a most glorious day.

        • -1

Seize the means of making and delivering pizza

        • +4

One time back in the day, I was playing Counter Strike on a random server, and some random asked "does anyone want a pizza?". He gives me a code for a large pizza, 1.25L of Coke and a garlic bread delivered for FREE. I was around 13 at the time and it was the greatest nights of my life playing CS

        • +1

I think I remember that exact deal heh

Back when they used to give stuff for free nothing extra charges.. but free delivery wow that is insane

    • Mate respect the value of your time.

  • +3

The closet one to me opens at 4pm, would be funny to see people queuing at lunchtime

    • +1

      closet one

      Small store?

    • +4

What does the hidden sexual preference of the store have to do with anything? For shame!

  • +2

Too much effort, they should of done a facebook voucher for a discount instead

    • No thanks.

  • If only there was a national coronary artery disease day.

  • +1

Omg, no thanks. The closest pizza hut to me is in Beenleigh. I can see it now, a bunch of flogs barefoot and still wearing their pyjamas, fighting over a free fkn pizza.

    Dumbest. Marketing. Ever.

  • the first 30 people to line up at any of Australia’s 292 Pizza Hut stores from midday will receive one of the pizzas free.

Shouldn’t this deal be read as ‘Targeted to first 30 in the queue’ lol

  • -1

Sounds tempting but I’m on keto !!

  • +4

You'd have to be pretty desperate to line up for a free Pizza Hut pizza, when you can get a Dr Oetker pizza for tree fiddy @ Woolies. Yes, the latter requires an oven but still.. an hour of one's life is surely worth more than tree fiddy!

  • Interesting proposition but honestly I think there's a very high chance that people will rock up and 'save a space' for their 987654321 friends who come later so you end up waiting for nothing so I won't bother :(

  • -1

I doubt there will be a queue at all.
Prove me wrong, but I don't think Pizzahut is popular enough and this deal hasn't been seen by many people.

    • +1

I'm not going to queue for a pizza worth ~$4-5 in a variety I wouldn't have ordered anyway.

      • nice socks bro

  • When dominos had free pizza all last week it was relatively quick to get one if u arrived 15mins before time. Same thing for pizza hut I assume.

  • +2

I love the sound of that pizza but this in no way is worth the time it would take and risk of failure.

  • +2

I wonder if there are stores that simply no one goes to during the day.

When some Oportos free single fillet burger promo was on they pre-made burgers at Coogee to avoid the rush and I think I was the only person or one of a handful of people that exploited it. They even asked how many I want.

Then you have free ice cream at Ben and Jerry's Bondi Beach and they managed to create a huge queue on a cold rainy day without a student or OzBargainer in sight (well no one else was wearing the 1 pound Slazenger shirt and shorts combination which was OzVogue at the time).

    • Tell the homeless people

  • +1

I'm amazed how few Pizza Huts are left in Adelaide considering that at one point they were fairly numerous. I guess they weren't able to compete with Domino's.

    • +1

Possibly due to many of the locations being restaurants which were all shut down apart from a handful.

    • That's the way it goes. As you grow up, all the things that you thought were solid and would always be there, the foundations of your world, reveal that they are infact liquid, and drain away down hidden crevaces to be replaced with something new and foreign.

Once you know that, it becomes less hard to see how old people have such a tough time with it, and why they're always pining for a return to the world they used to understand.

  • What size is Pizza Hut large these days? I know dominos is down to a miniscule 9 inches.

    • +4

      a miniscule 9 inches

      You've got a lucky wife.

  • I ain't line up 1 hour to save $5 on pizza.

  • There is a Pizza Hut 9 minutes walk away according to Google Maps. Might try my luck!

  • +3

There was a grand total of one person in the queue at my local :D

    • +2

I feel like a werido standing in front of the store all by myself.

      • +1

They gonna call a copper on ya coz they thought ya gonna rob em, ya werido!

        • +1

I can probably get two today though. This morning's is unplanned, went by and no queue. My local only open at 4.30 pm :)

    • Same here for yesterday. I turned up at 11:56am during my lunch break and thought I’d just walk past to see the queue and if I’d bother. There was one boy standing there looking very uncomfortable so I joined him

      • Not creepy at all… :p

  • The stores open at 11.30. But they don't start giving out the pizzas till 12……

    • +2

They're doing an apple store style opening with songs and clapping and high fives. You're expected to wear a grin and pretend you're enjoying it for 30 minutes.

      • +1

they gave away cupcakes at the Pizza Hut i went to
        about 20+ people at midday
