Bosch 8KG Front Load Washer WAW28460AU $829.60 (Free C&C or + Delivery) @ The Good Guys eBay

570
P20TGGS

These are well reviewed and they made in Germany and Bosch is the only brand missus that accepts for our washing…don’t ask me why

Normal rating for this model is 4.8 star out of 5, I have a smaller one that still works perfectly fine but due to these none stop popping up GG deals, wife pushed me to upgrade.

Well, if you need one washing machine now, this is a good time to buy as they hardly on sales from the past experience.

  • Good price for made in Germany. Is the 7.5kg $542 not made in Germany? Seems to be a fairly large price difference otherwise.

    • +2

      China.

Good value for $500 odd. Comes with the same silent drive motor as the more ex models.

      The drum is abit small.

  • I got a WAS28461au, after 2 year, it does starts to get loud while washing(still quieter than other brand).

So if you do buy one, get the 3 year extra warranty for peace of mind.

    • Louder in what way? Maybe something stuck behind the drum?

  • Lol, I read as dishwasher

  • +1

This beats any most sophisticated top loader and many front loaders too.

  • Got one! Thanks!

  • We got one through a similar offer for $871 in Dec 17. Great purchase, highly recommended.

  • Purchased mine for $920 6 months ago. Replaced an older entry-level Bosch. Can’t say I really rate this one. T-shirts and towels come out like cardboard and I’ve ruined a few delicate items already (woollen jumpers). The old machine had none of these issues.

    • +2

T-shirts and towels come out like cardboard

That's a common complaint for all front loaders.

Use some vinegar in the fabric softener drawer compartment and/or turn down the spin speed.

Vinegar also helps kill any mould.

      • My previous Bosch front loader which was a lot cheaper didn’t have these issues. I’ve tried adjusting spin speed, doesn’t make a difference (unless you set it to 800 where cottons come out soaking wet).

  • Very great machine. Got this as our first washer in our first home

  • +1

I have the 7KG one and it's been brilliant.

Mine isn't made in Germany but I don't think it makes much difference.

  • -2

    Why? 😄

  • The WAT24261AU is rated higher on choice than this model and it's $719.2. It's not made in Germany

  • Those of you with this machine

Do you notice a knock sound when the machine starts?

You see t your wash mode press start and the drum moves back and forth ever slightly and this is where it makes a little knock sound if you wanna call it that

Mine also makes this sound soimdtimes at the end of the wash at the rinse spin cycle

Seems when the machine moves the drum back and forth slightly to balance load it makes it

    Anyone else ?

    • Yes, I hear the same with mine but assumed it to be normal. It's an excellent washing machine so no issues recommending it anyone.

    • +1

Yep, I thought it was the baddass door locking mechanism..? Only right after you press start tho

    • Yep we have 2 of these and they both make that sound. Pretty sure it’s just the locking mechanism cause nothing appears to be moving when the sound occurs.

      • Nah it’s not the lock

The lock makes the sound but then when the drum moves you here a knock knock knock as the drum moves back and forth slightly

        • Ours does - three knocks after the door lock clicks :)

Another one with this exact model, had it for 30 months and it's a dream. In fact it's so dreamy I sometimes find myself sitting in front of it and staring into its bubbly vortex…

    • German travel machine

  • Can't quite tell from the listing, can anyone confirm if you can add clothes after the cycle has begun?

    • +1

From experience you can add them as long as the water level is not beyond a certain point. If you pause it early on it unlocks the door and you can add clothes

    • Got this washer last week so can confirm you can pause the cycle and open the door to add clothes

    • +1

Our previous German Bosch washer involved switching to the drain cycle first before the door lock would open if it had started. Even if it had been running for literally a second. You sound like you may have also encountered this. Bought ours about 7 years ago though, so it unlikely this model, so hopefully they would have made it easier now.

  • Had 2 of these, one for a few years and another for a few months. Both been solid and washing quality has not changed since day one. Highly recommend. Doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the fancy front loaders (eg chute to add clothes mid-wash) however.

  • Did anybody saw the badge on Bosch offical website there is $100 cash back ? Does this deal apply?

    Link: https://www.bosch-home.com.au/promotions

  • Does anyone have recommendation for a Washer/Dryer? Very space restricted.

  • Anyone got the WAW28620AU 9kg model? I need the larger size. It’s also eligible for the $100 cash back.

    • +1

weirdly on the bosch site if you compare the 2 they both have the same 61L drum capacity
      https://www.bosch-home.com.au/compare/product/view

      • Thanks I will take a look.

        • what did you decide?
Appliance online get close to the price (1316 vs 1252) and will install and take old one away

      • That is odd isn’t it

        • I would assume the internals are rated stronger. The washer capacity isn't normally the drum size but the machinery being able to take, say, 50kg (9+41kg water) spinning at 1500rpm and not break.

    • I have the 9kg i-dos version.

    • I couldn’t afford that one , I am happy with 28460au I got but a friend bought 28620, they are happy I believe that was made in Germany too
Other difference is 28460 spins at 800,1200 and 1400 no 1000 whereas 28620 has 1000 which is my preferred spin speed. It has i-Dos auto dosing system too. Good price too at 20% off and $100 cashback. I highly recommend

  • Do TGG stores match the ebay price or take away the old machine and/or install?

I tried calling 2 stores but just got left on hold….

    Any clues appreciated.

    What about electrolux washing machine?

    • I use Electrolux washer, beside the very long cycle time for regular wash, 5+ years, no complaints here.

  • I've got the 9kg with i-DOS - 10/10 machine, would re-attend.

    • So with i-DOS you just dump a whole container of detergent into the slot and it dispenses per wash by itself? How often do you have to fill up?

      • Correct. Every month or so maybe? It lasts a while..

        • Awesome, I wanted that, but couldn't afford it :(

  • I bought this one around 3 months ago for eBay Good Guys for $1,028 less: 20%, which worked out to be slightly cheaper than this.

The machine has been good up until now where I it had an error code on it and the machine stopped mid cycle. Turns out the drum had cracked/damaged during the cycle. Bosch has approved a replacement, however I am yet to receive the replacement and it has been 1 week already.

Mind you, I've only used the machine maybe 1-2 times per week for cottons cycle on eco mode which goes for almost 3.5 hours.

  • good machine

How does the delivery work on Good Guys ebay? I am keen on getting one delivered, but am wondering if they will unpack and connect it for me (a washing machine is too heavy for me to move from front door to its spot in the laundry).

  • Do you reckon I can get them to delay delivery until November ?

    • +1

Yes. Up to 2 months I was told. I did it when I bought a fridge from them. They might need to set a date in the system so your actual item doesn't get sold, but you can change it up to the day before.

  • Deal! That's the wife's Christmas sorted out. Lucky lady.

  • How do you arrange install and removal of old machine when bought on Ebay? Any one know the extra cost?

    • -1

      DIY, pretty simple.

  • Was about to hit 'confirm and pay' until realised there was no local pickup available except in Maitland for 7.5kg. Don't want to pay another $55 for delivery.

  • Has anyone bought the breakdown cover from Virginia Surety?? Wondering how easy it is to deal with them?
