Hmmm wondering about Laptop deals, something decent for around 6-700

  • There will always be the odd deal but everything I search for using the discount it brings it down to around what the lowest price for those items are from the non sale sellers anyway.

  • +5

Such a sale is a farce. Price jacking inevitable. E.g. Allphones ebay has listed the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for a price higher than RRP: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-9-Single-Sim…
    RRP is $1799, Alphone's price: $1862.99!

    • Probably to cover eBay fees, or did they recently jack up the price?

    • +4

Yet the sheep still upvote the deal 🤔

  • +3

This like spam now. Actually, I'd rather eat spam.

  • +1

Nice, after some Ubiquiti stuff. See how the price falls.

    • Nice, after some Ubiquiti stuff. See how the price falls rises.

      Fixed.

    • Just dropped $600+ on my first batch of Ubiquiti gear. Hope I don't regret this. Thanks for depleting my wallet yet again OzBargain.

      • I doubt you'll regret it.

I installed my first Unifi AP recently, and have been seriously impressed.

  • Are you still able to purchase now and pay tomorrow for the 20%?

    • Yes it works

  • +3

These sales are now the equivalent of those accessories stores that pop up in the middle of shopping malls with 'SALE' posted everywhere that sell low grade garbage

  • Cant see any good 55 inch TV deals sigh

  • +2

Any good deals on price jacking?

  • adding a few items to my watch list, I suspect they'll either price-jack or the listing gets pulled…

  • Suppose we will need to wait until tomorrow to see if there is any actual bargains

  • okay… which is the best phone with hfc for sub $350 after the discount?
    any suggestions?

    ps:dual sim

  • Thanks TA :) Was looking at some things from OzPlaza (have bought from them before) Decent saving hopefully.

  • Can anyone confirm whehter the videopro sold TCL can claim the cash back?

    https://www.tclelectronics.com.au/promotions/

  • Nice OZplaza time for a new cheap office chair.

  • What would be a good router model? Just moving into a new house and need a decent router for fttp.

I've heard good things about asus, any other recommendations?

    • I'm really happy with the Asus RT-AC68U I bought when I got fttp connected a couple years ago. There are newer models now. I'd say you can't go wrong buying the latest stable Asus model that fits your budget. Netgear Nighthawk range seem to be highly rated as well.

      • Cheers, ordered an RT-AC68U for $184 from Sydneytec!

        • Nice! Mine has been rock solid ever since I first cranked it up. Good range & speed, no dropouts, never needs a reboot.

I was even using it as a psuedo NAS with an external HDD plugged into its USB3 port serving media for Plex across my network. Surprisingly it worked a treat. Still couldn't resist buying a Synology NAS from a recent OzBargain deal so the router gets a rest from that duty now.

  • +2

    I'm saving a $1000 tomorrow.

    • +8

By not buying anything you don't need…

  • +3

Bring on the hard drive discounts!

    • Same here, I'm looking for a 3tb hard drive. Umart is looking cheaper.

  • +2

    Its a trap!

Anyone know if this is a worth it desktop?

  • +1

All Go Pro Hero 7 Black models have had their prices jacked up over the RRP before this sale….hilarious!

  • +2

FUTU has price pumped bulk items, be careful you don't get sucked in.

    • -1

      FUTU - aka F-U-TU :D

  • A few ARLO pro units come up in search for these sellers

    • +1

I'm looking for an add-on camera but looks like only the more expensive Pro2 cameras are included. After 20% off it brings it down to the price of a Pro camera. Was really hoping for a Pro v1 camera with 20% off but cant see anything listed.

  • Hmmm, does anyone know who won't jack?

Dell, Sony, GraysOnline? Do Futu jack?

  • +4

I posted this about myphonez last night:

    my-phonez iphone x 256gb deal here last week $1382

    my-phonez iphone x 256gb now(ebay.com.au) $2010

Although I did see this(ebay.com.au) for $1600…lets see if it changes tomorrow

    ALL iphone prices severely jacked

They relisted the one for $1600 up to $1985 just 10 minute ago

    These guys are scum

    • wow so dodgy

    • accc support jacking?

    • +1

this is illegal.. do me a favour bro and report this to ebay? they will terminate the account…

      • +1

        really?

        I will if that helps.

I took screenshots at various times to verify as knew this was gonna happen

        • 100%

          https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/ebay-slammed…

          from ebay;

“This seller has been removed from this promotion as they are in breach of our retail promotion terms and conditions,” the spokeswoman said.

I bet ya 100 dollars my-phonez is a rebranded spin of Allphones.

          • @chingy213: The seller was removed from that promotion, not from eBay. Their account was not terminated and the store is very much still operating, in fact they are part of this very sale.

My-phonez has nothing to do with Allphones, My-phonez is owned by Skyphonez and their eBay account was been around since 2015.

They also have additional myphonez00 and Three Sons eBay stores. Only My-Phonez is part of the selected seller eBay deals, you'll find sometimes that it's actually cheaper to buy the same item from myphonez00 without any discount, than it is from my-phonez with 20% discount. For the items I viewed it was just consistently high prices on the my-phonez account, rather than jacking them up.

How do you search for a particular item across all these stores. The link provided by BlazinPast works fine. But as soon as I enter a search term in the search bar to searc, the store filter disappears and I find myself searching across the whole of ebay.

    • +1

You must be on the phone/tablet. Tell the browser to load the desktop site instead of the mobile site.

      • How do you do that?

        • Which app you using?

          • @omguleh: Ah sorry I meant I was viewing on the desktop. Was there anyway to force it to display a mobile version?

  • "You can only apply one voucher code to this purchase" so eBay tells me when I try to add both.

  • Price jacked from Tech Mall … was watching a Ubiquiti AP and now it is cheaper from MSY.

    EDDIE - NO DEAL.

    • I was looking at sodimm ram on futu's store and it's now more expensive than msy.

      So no deal here either.

  • Looked at NVME drives.. all more expensive that current rates. no deal here.

  • any good no price jacking TV deal 55" sub $1000?

  • Does anyone have any experience with these guys?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/cutpricegadgetsau?ul_noapp=true

    They sell "like new" phones.

    • Used to buy an ipad pro there. Works fine.

      • was the ipad in like new condition and did you check the warranty details with apple?

    • Sometimes they sell brand new phones too. Pretty good in my opinion.

      • The phone I'm looking at is a second hand one and the description says "like new". So not sure how old will it be. The seller can't tell me how old is it and they won't tell the IMEI or serial number before purchase

  • Hi guys,

I need help with choosing monitor, AOC Q3279VWF or Samsung C32F391FWE?

I am going to use it mainly for my xbox one S and watching Netflix/Youtube..

I may connect my laptop into it, but it will be mainly for entertainment not work related.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

    • You need to post some key specs

      • AOC 31.5in 2,560 x 1,440 MVA panel • 75Hz • 5ms response time • DisplayPort 1.2 • DVI • VGA • HDMI 1.4 • 1 x USB 3 • -2 to +22.5-degree tilt • 730 x 153 x 425mm (WDH) • 1yr RTB warranty

  • No deal - Was looking at laptops but Kong removed all laptops and left the junk…

    http://www.ebaystores.com.au/Kong-Computers-Australia/Laptop…

    • +1

Likewise.. what's even the point of being included in the sale if that's what they're gonna do? :/

  • Mavic 2 Zoom/Pro - Listings pulled.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/332520844956

To the sellers credit, some people did manage to buy a handful (about 5) of units before the seller altered the quantity pulled the listing. It was showing as 10 yesterday.

    • +1

I managed to score the Mavic 2 Pro fly more combo within the first few seconds :D

      • +1

        Good Job! :D

    • So why do sellers pull listings? Is it the store itself that have to discount?

Or is it like the 5% off sitewide or 10% off sitewide promos where ebay/paypal covers the discounted amount?

      • Depends on the deal. Sitewide deals eBay concerts the but these 20% select sellers means the seller also funds it. I'd imagine items with low margin or high demand are the first to get pulled.

After all why would you want to sell something at a loss?

        • That makes sense.

  • +1

does anyone know how to search for retailers in eBay?

  • Thanks. I bought the speaker I always wanted

  • Thanks for this TA. I've been meaning to pick up a UWA lens for an upcoming holiday, pulled the trigger on a Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f2.8 PRO for $519.20.

  • The power bank I've saved on my watch list suddenly went up from $25.15 to $27.95. Not going to buy just because of their price jacking.

  • If you click buy now on an item before price jacking then there is a sale promo can you get the discount applied on original item amount ?

    • With most of these sellers you have to pay straight away

  • My Icon X 2018 has been pulled

is the nvidia shield with asus game controller at $225.60 a bargain?

    • Even this has gone up since the sale started, was $282 and now $288.

Retail on the Shield is $249, and it's available directly from nVidia at that price with free shipping.

I've been eyeing several eBay sellers, waiting for a 20% off sale which will bring it down to $199. Tech Mall had been selling it for $249 but jacked the price to $285 for this sale.

I'm tempted at $225 but I'd rather not purchase from these scumbags jacking up their prices.

Anyone know if PC Meal or PC Byte usually inflate their prices when they're included in these sales?

  • Wish they had some deals on OLED tvs..

    • If you are willing to gamble on a refurb, ~$2400 for a 65" Pana OLED is not bad. This model is widely considered the best of the bunch this year. I wouldn't personally get it because, well, refurbished.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Panasonic-TH-65FZ950U-65-Inch-16…

      • widely considered the best of the bunch this year

I think it's winning the value contest, not necessarily the best product contest.

  • +2

300+ votes and no deals to be found

    • Eh, I found an amazing deal but the last 4 stock was snapped up in a few hours before I could decide whether or not to get it.

      • +1

which validates how good of a deal it was making you feel even worse about missing out… :(

  • Thanks TA for the deal.
I’m looking to get an Android box for media streaming, kodi, and the odd torrenting.
The Nvidia Shield + Asus Controller comes to $230 with the discount. Still torn on pulling the trigger between this and the Vodafone Tv box.

    • +2

      Go the Shield!

  • this would also make a good laptop. N4200 is tearing apart all the Atom models, power efficient, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD.
