aren't the experts predicting new air pods at the upcoming apple announcement?

    • Yep, Oct 30th. But to be fair they did last year too and Apple ended up only announcing wireless charging case upgrade with AirPower which was never released. We'll see…

      • -2

The retailer might just being going off rumours themselves and trying not to get stuck with old stock. $190 for a pair of earbuds though is ridiculous but so is $2k for a phone that is low on specs.

        • +1

Quite possibly, there's been a few reduced AirPods prices recently so trying to offload stock sounds about right. In regards to price, that's a subjective view, there's many many ways to look at value but to many it's well worth it. I fully understand for others it may not be and that's why other products exist.

  • +1

Good price. AirPods 2 may not be announced until 2019 and the current gen is very good already.

  • +4

Airpods 2 will be announced next week, just be patient

    • Or the week after if not next week, etc?

      • +2

The event next week has been confirmed a couple of days ago. I don't think there will be an Airpods 2 though..

        • Agreed, it's too early for them to bring out a new generation. Maybe next year.

Hopefully the "bonus" deal on Sunday is a site wide discount. Seems weird if it was just another item with the way it's structured.

This is the everyday price at Costco if you’re a member.

Did you just pull that 20% out of your ass?

If you found the fitting of the EarPods that came with your phone fine, these will stay in your ears better due to the lack of wires.

      • +6

Lol don’t let facts get in the way of an alarmist post. /s

      • +3

I think trying them on would be good. Isn't that an advantage of Apple products? If you are unhappy about them within 14 days, if purchased from Apple store, money back return.

      • there're many people complained about the fitting of the supplier earbuds, it's 75% in my family.
If you think about anatomy, everyone is unique. if a pair of gloves fits you, it might not fit others.
PS. referring hands are much better and courteous than as

You're thinking of the Google copy cat products (you know how Apple haters are always saying Apple copies things and now …. crickets) which were terrible.

    • I know about 5 people who have purchased Airpods (myself included) - none of us have had an issue with fit. I think 20% may be a much exaggerated.

    • If found the wired pair in the box a little odd for the fit. AirPods were better and haven’t been happier with the purchase

  • I hope ebayplus will come up with the same kind of deal as $599 dyson v10 or $319 switch

    • You need to set your hopes higher.
20% sitewide inc. gift cards, puto!!!

how good are these using when ur in gym( & running on thread mill)

    • They’ve never played up for me or fallen out when working out, guess it depends how well they fit your ears. I get at least 10 metres range using them with my iPhone, but if you keep your phone in a locker you might not for obvious reasons

      • +1

awesome, was using iconx till lastweek and lost them at gym. so want to try these as i can use them for daily use.

      • +2

Can use with current Apple watch as an alternative option to phone.

    • +2

how good are these using when ur in gym( & running on thread mill)

You're going to the gym because your health is important to you.

Honestly, you'd be better off with something which blocks out all the external noise (banging on the treadmill, shitty gym music/ads, etc). This will allow you to play your music at lower volumes, preserving your hearing.

I'd recommend this (bought it recently): https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07H7HLGKK

Then save the $150 for something else.

      • i have something similar, but when running i like the idea of complete wireless. thx for the tip

        • Maybe the Jaybird products? They have the True Run products that all completely wireless but I'm not sure if they're any good. I can vouch for the Jaybirds X3's though and they recently released the X4's for a lower price.

        • +1

If you want true wireless have a look at reviews with other units. I wouldn't use Airpods for long periods of exercise as their aren't rated for any water/sweat resistance.

  • +2

I suspect these will fall out of my ears the same way the stock earplugs from an iPhone do. O well I'm more of a headphone guy these days anyway.

    • Just get a bit of string and tie them together, easy!

      • +6

        Works for the NBN :D

  • +1

There is an extremely high chance that the October 20 Apple keynote will announce new AirPods. The current gen is already going out of stock across Europe.

Crappy eBay plus deal. eBay will have to try harder if they want my money.

  • +1

@vestrosaurus - There's no Zinc oxide in them. Not interested

Might be a deal on Wednesday. Watch this space.

  • how does this compare to jabra elite 65t? in terms of sound quality?

      • I trust ozb more than google :)

        • Alright then, buy both.

    • +1

The jabras hurt my ears when i wear them for longer than 40 minutes. I can wear airpods for much longer. Sound quality of jabras is better though due to noise isolation.

    • I've got both, sending the Jabra back.

Pretty much as ^^lowlifesphere^^ said! Better sound but not too noticeable. Airpods easier to put in and take out, comfy and really efficient.

Jabras look WAAAY better though so if you are worried about looks then take that in to account!!

  • It’s a life changing device

I can listen to Audio books while doing some lame tasks
And I’m not bored to death while cycling at the gym

    Everyone should get one.

    • You need to get out more.

  • ~$189 seems like normal price for AirPods now

  • I'd love the $599 Dyson V10 but it seems like those with money just buy them and sell them for a profit. Bastards….

  • +1

This is the one thing I wish android would get right. Charging case and all for under 200 bucks.

  • I owned a pair since launch, can say that if you like the normal wired headphones these are so much better. Sometimes I forget they are in my ears because how much of a comfortable fit they are for me. Just be careful with dropping them when taking off and putting on, case scratches easily, recommend a cheap $5 case from eBay. I think mine have slightly reduced in volume becuase Ive dropped them a lot (only con of this product, but what do you expect with wireless earphones)

  • +1

I thought this was normal price.
I just bought it yesterday from Officeworks for $185.25 price-beating Umart.
