  • I can't seem to get it for $499
When I add the console, plus game, plus the forza codes, it doesn't drop to $499 like it claims.
    It just sits on $649

      • Is it this I'm supposed to take note of? "Very soon. Will give you the heads up once its ready to go."
They provide no context for what they are talking about. Twitter says they are replying to 2 other comments, but I can't see what those other comments are. Sorry, Twitter makes no sense to me.

        • +1

They know about it and are working on it.

  • +1

Picked up in-store. They salesperson said that the forza codes were "while stocks last" and don't offer it to people unless they ASK for it (since it was only mentioned in some e-mail mailout) Used my $200 gift card from my recent Telstra byo plan!

    • Yep, I had to ask for it, but it wasn't a big deal. Guy in JBs was just happy I knew what I wanted and wasn't stuffing him about.

  • Anyone been able to pricematch a bundle deal at HN?

  • Website deal wasn't working so stopped off at the Top Ryde store on my way to work. Picked up the white console. Comes with the two forza code cards and red dead redemption 2 on disc.

Anyone know a reliable way to sell a forza code? I already have Forza 7 on windows play anywhere.

  • anyone know if theres a deal for trading in xbox original or xbox one s? gamestop has one but this isn't america.

  • +2

I have just returned the deal to bigw and can confirm jbhifi deal for console, rdr2 forza 4 and 7 for $499 is exactly the same package as the bigw package.

Jbhifi is better because of the $70 saving and then the discounted live membership at 6months for $17.

Called my local EB Games and they said they can price match this bundle.

    • oh wow, I don't have a JB Hifi near me, but do have an EB Games. This could save me. Thanks!

      • JB doing $10 same day shipping for this bundle.

    • Oh, and even better, EB does afterpay now!

      • Give them a call first. This may vary from store to store. They are willing to price match because there is a JB within the same shopping centre.

        • just called. they wont price match, because JB is too far away. (about half an hour drive)
They can however, price match Big W, since there is a Big W store about 30 metres away in the same mall.
But BigW's deal isn't that good.
Looks like I'll just have to cough up the money upfront, and pay the small delivery fee

    • I called my local EB and they said they wouldn’t price match any bundle, so must vary.

  • Online is up!

    • Awesome. Order done!

  • +2

Online order on JBHIFI website Working now :), BTW - if you have youi insurance, you can use YOUI dollars to claim 6.5% off on JBHIFI gifts cards, got mine for $467.5

    • how quick they send the gift card?

      • You will receive invoice and gift card emails right after payment.

    • THANKS! I forgot about my YOUI rewards.

      • Can you get some for me? I'll PayPal you the money

    • Thanks for the idea. I checked RACQ managed to save 5% making it $475.

  • Why do you do this ozbargain? :(

ordered and bought one. Probably won't be using it much………. lol

    • +1

Based on usage of devices I already own, I can guarantee that I probably wouldn't even plug this in and turn it on.

      Still considering buying it. :/

      • +2

Same as you. 2 times this morning looking at the JBHIFI cart page ready for pick up but I told myself will I ever use the console like I used my pc and phone everyday? The answer is NO. So money saved.

        • +2

          Well done! ;)

I'd added to my cart for a 'test run' too.

Have come to my senses and moved on!

  • Bought one online :)

  • Just picked up my bundle from JB waiting for 90gb install….

    • At least two discs are included… for people with slow ADSL2+, this can save a lot of time (still takes a while to install though).

  • Really want a PS4 instead to play God of war and Spiderman, but this is so tempting.

    • Yeah I want ps4 too but this was just too enticing! lol

    • Grab this and then grab a PS4 later.

Amazon might do another PS4 Pro fortnite bundle for $379 during holiday season/amazon prime day: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391121

  • +2

HOLY SHIT i just bought one!

  • (profanity) yes.

If people can't jump now perhaps eb games will have another console upgrade deal soon as game stop brought it back in the US

  • Where can we buy discounted gift cards with instant delivery? Youi has a nice 6.5% discount but not a member.

    • suncorp account @ 5% off. It is instant.
Macquarie Marketplace (have to have a txn acc) @ 4%. Also instant

      • Be careful it's not always instant they quote (up to 72 hours) I tried yesterday and after 6 hours rang them up and was told as it was my first purchase and a large amount (499) it had to go through a special approval they couldn't guarantee how long it would take so I cancelled.

PS. Their website is very misleading as it talks about instant delivery…

        • Ah this is very annoying. I left it until today to buy the egift card on the suncorp benefits app thinking it was instant and now it is 'processing'.

Is there a time limit on how long you have to ring and cancel for a full refund or how come you did not let it ride and see if it came through in time to still get this jb hifi deal?

Also does anyone know if you can only access the suncorp benefits / ewallet through the app if you do not have a suncorp bank account? I cannot find anywhere to login on my desktop. I can only access it via the app on my phone..

      • Purchased Suncorp egift card at 8pm, still 'processing'.

        • I bought a $500 jb gift card from Suncorp about 20min ago (first purchase with them) and it was instantly in the eWallet.

        • +1

Few phone calls and a lot of time later, got it processed. They mentioned there's a $400 trigger, so if you buy 2x $250 cards they should be instant.

          • @nitroz: Few phone calls?? did they fob you off or why did you have to make repeated calls?

            • @cathalm8: Went through the same process as you. But iam still waiting on getting it processed. Fingers crossed it comes in soon.

              • @cathalm8: Phone number for the right department is 1300 989 502, ask them nicely and let them know you want to buy something which is selling out real quick.

                • @nitroz: i did mate, the guy was really nice but he couldnt help me in the end. He said it would be monday so I just cancelled. Shame as its kind of put me off getting the xbox deal lol

    • RACQ or maybe whatever is equivalent in your state.
      I saved 5% with RACQ

      • Me too. Only took 30 seconds for the email to come too.

  • +1

Really hope HN can price match this bundle deal so I can use Amex promo

    • I tried several times via online chat as I got the same promo. Said they cant match it as their price match policy states it has to be the exact bundle. Their loss to be honest

      • They don't price match and they don't bring out a good bundle of their own too. I wonder how much longer it survive compared with JB seems to be more competitive lately.

        • yep, surprised amazon havent brought out a bundle deal yet

  • so tempted to get this but already have a xbox one s, will wait for a good deal on PS4 pro.

    • EB may bring back the upgrade deal - they brought it back to gamestop in the US.

      • Still tanning till oct 31

  • Just realised this isnt much of a deal - now I'm going to need a HDR TV…and the OLEDs look mighty fine…

    • +2

Do it :) Having picked up my ps4 pro on amazon day, and my 65" LG OLED at the cheapest its been via OzB, i just couldnt pass up the one x at this price with 3 games!

      • Ah man so jelly!!

Will keep an eye out during boxing day. May just have to 'settle' for another LED with hdr and low input lag.

      • I need to do some 4K tv research now too - need 65" minimum - and that's probably big enough. Still sporting my brilliant 50" japanese-made Panny plasma, which I will part with very reluctantly.

Part of me not sure whether to upgrade to a larger TV (and go OLED and 4K in doing so), or keep the plasma and put a projector in for when I want 'bigger' - movie nights and solid gaming sessions…

If you've had the same dilemma, lemme know!

        • I'm in the same boat as you. I just don't want to blow the budget (already did on a 4k projector and 120 inch screen!) so I'm on the fence with all of these hisense deals and such.

Not sure if I should be spending more on a Samsung/lg/Sony for usability and better OS.

        • I went from a Samsung 55" LED to a 65" LG C8 OLED. Hardest decision was to convince the wife haha. Best TV ever, the black levels you get from OLED is amazing and gaming on it has to be seen to be believed :p

          • @smurfstah: I'm thinking I'll "make do" with a 65 inch given the price difference to the 75 inch, and that way I can go with one of the "big 3" all while saving some money. The big ticket stuff I'll be watching/playing on the projector anyway so if I can get OLED by just going for a 65 inch over 75, makes more sense.

Crazy to think I paid $2k for a 40inch full HD TV about 12 or so years ago. Haha

            • @db87: Might seem like a silly questions but is gaming on the 4K projector a good experience or too big?

              • @fookos: Yet to set it up as we're in the middle of Renos, but plan is to use it for single player stuff with headphones on for that immersive feeling. Multiplayer I prefer to be sitting in front of a monitor.

          • @smurfstah: Looks like a nice, albeit still pricey television. Would you feel the need to get a projector as well having this quality beast on the wall?

    • +3

One cheap deal always ends up making you spend much much more.

      • more like ozb making me spend more than i think i need to haha

  • Looks like the Xbox One X version is (technically) best. Native 4K and holds 30 FPS almost all the time.

    https://youtu.be/_mTIPXwcDGQ

    • i love how you say 30fps like its a good thing

      i been PCMR too long

      • +2

Probably couldn't build a new pc for $500 right now that could maintain 4k 30fps in AAA games. Just saying. So it is a great thing in that regard.

      • It's the target FPS for this on console. It's relevant because the other systems often run below 30 and none are running 4k.

Note: This is just for interest's sake. I'll be running it on the OG Xbox One, the worst performing system and will still have a good time.

      • How much did you invest in your rig to be able to play 4k 60fps or above if and when RDR2 becomes available for PC?

  • Checks available balance in bank account "Available balance:$498.92" Goddammit. Literally 8 cents off.

    • +5

If you are around wynyard, sydney I will hook you up with $0.50 mate haha :)

      • yeah nah aye, SA mate.

      • I just transferred a bunch of money to my secondary account this morning, and it can take a day or 2 to transfer each way. Might just have to buy it from my secondary account. But Now I'm having second thoughts. I might just not buy this at all, haha. Maybe wait till the next sale. Not sure how frequently they go on sale though.

        • +1

Black friday coming up, good chance there will be just as a good a deal or maybe even better

          • +2

@smurfstah: Highly unlikely, if you take into account the value of the games, ur only paying about 320 for the console

            • +3

@mlburnian: Yep thats a good point, im just trying to make @nuttapillar feel a bit better about not jumping on this deal :p

    • If you are seriously 8 cents short, what bank are you with? I'm sure someone here will transfer it to you and for same bank to same bank it's instant

      • ah, it's alright haha. I should probably wait anyway. I'm a pc gamer, and already don't have much time for gaming. If I got this, it'd probably be considered an impulse buy.

        • +1

It really comes down to RDR2 - damn, I really wish they release the PC version (or at least let us know when it will come out). I have XB1X and PS4 Pro as well, so for now, it is playing it on XB1X.

If only there is a cost effective way to rent XB1X for a month.

  • All those games run at native 4k 🤤🤤🤤

  • Hi
    Bought my one from JB
    White with nba19
    Very heavy unit, currently updating.

    • Heavy, but interestingly smaller than the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S.

      • Agree, very happy with it so far.

  • +2

Well this must be console deal of the year. Only problem is I have to get rid of my Xbox one original and I’m sure the marketplace is going to be swamped with others doing the same lol.

    • +1

Consoles are a nightmare to sell secondhand, they seem to attract a lot of scammers.

I’m sure someone will put it up.

      • I'm just going to give my S to someone in the family for Christmas.

    • Sighhh okay I'll get rid of it for you. What's your address?

    • If you can’t sell it, I’m sure the local children’s hospital or retirement home (as it is something both the residents and the young relatives they have visiting them can play with) would greatly appreciate the donation.

    • +1

I'm in the same predicament, was tempted to get this deal, but realistically I'd save more money by actually just getting the standalone game and not wasting the extra $$$ to get the console when I already have an Xbox One that I haven't touched in over a year, plus generally preferring to play on PS4 at home and Switch on the go. Even then, I haven't touched the PS4 since South Park: Fractured But Whole came out, and I'm still rocking an old plasma screen tv, so graphically I probs won't notice much of an improved if I got the Xbox One X.

I am hoping for a trade in deal coming up to Xmas to upgrade the PS4 to a Pro though, still have an OG 250GB version, had to clear off some games just to install RDR2 this morning.
