  • DAMN! good price.

  • So basically the lowest regular US price plus GST.

It's getting there, though sales prices are starting to dip below what would translate to $3300 here.

  • Will we get sub-3k 65" OLEDs at Boxing Day?

    • That's when I'll pull the trigger too.

  • Thoughts on buying this now on 28 degrees card and claiming price protection when prices drop on boxing day?

    • That's what I'm thinking of doing.

    • Does the 28 Degrees guarantee even cover eBay sales?

      • Yes, they do, but only to "Buy it now" items. It excludes auctioned items, etc.

        • Does anyone know if screen burn in is covered under the shopping protection? They cover damage so I'm wondering if they would cover that or not.

Or does anyone know if any shop covers screen burn in with their extended warranty?

  • What is generally considered the pick of the bunch in 65" OLEDs at the moment?

    • +1

LG C8 from what I've read - https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c8 is one review.

    • I personally prefer the LG OLEDs for the OS as well as supporting Dolby Vision. Though, there's no HDR10+ at the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if they patch in support in the future if it gets going.

      • How are OLED tvs for gaming which usually has still images like a circular map for example?
Especially for say 5-6 hours straight of gameplay

        • The first time I hooked up my OLED (Make sure you select HDMI deep colour mode, a lot of people forget that!) and played even Destiny 2.. it was breath taking from my PS4 pro.. Just amazing. I think you get enough screen changes to be OK to be honest. The C8s (well all 2018 panels) have enlarged pixels (60% for red.. cant remember for the others), at the same brightness as last year to greatly reduce the chance of burn in.

    • Panasonic for picture quality. Go and look at one running in store.

  • OLED is really worth paying double? What specs do you look for in a TV?

  • Wow what a price, paid over 4k for my 65" C8. To anyone thinking about buying it, JUST DO IT - you wont regret it :p

  • Looks like they have raised the price on the LG C8 65"

    • Same price still. Just have to factor in delivery if you don't have a ute or suv or something to transport it. 160 bucks to where I live.

  • Just got it for 3.8k from JBHiFi delivered (about 100 for shipping… rural..). Got it on finance GEM in their system so I can get the price guarantee thing if it gets cheaper anywhere else.

    • Or maybe not, they aren't letting me use the price protection for some reason. Still a decent price I guess.
