No stock in Sydney within 500km?
    Anywhere else?

    • checked all major cities, don't see any stock.

I don't mind negs but please check voting guidelines to determine if suitable or not. Thank you

        • +17

Wouldn’t you prefer to know about this instead of the poster getting hung up trying to work out if there was 1 or 2 or 11. You would be pretty happy if there happened to be one in your area.

            • +3

@FabMan: OP didn’t walk into a store though. It is online, nationwide.

                • +48

@FabMan: Yes, I am aware of the 10+ requirement however I didn't check all the stores around the nation. Am I expected to do this??

Sometimes I just wonder why I bother posting deals anymore….

                    • +2

@FabMan: One store may have had 50 for all any of us are privy too. Which still makes it a deal. You are just making assumptions that only 1 was available.

Maybe one person bought 50. Still a deal.

@Taegukgi: You're doing great. Don't worry about them.

                  • +10

@Taegukgi: Even if one was there, I would say thank you for the post! Keep posting.

                  • @Taegukgi: I don't know about others, but I kind of do expect it. If you don't want to do the leg work, then could post in the forums and let others more inclined do it and verify. Didn't we have a similar problem with people posting all the clearance items on the Officeworks website a while back which had very little stock? Still appreciate all the deals you post though chibot, don't let this deter you!

                  • +1

@Taegukgi: This concerns TVs not packets of biscuits. Moderators use discretion for reasonably expensive items. Please continue posting bargains.

                  • @Taegukgi: There will always be a few bad apples. Throw away the bad ones and munch on the good ones.

                • +3

@FabMan: The website does not show stock levels. Just that the product is for sale. One or more stores may have had X amount. Do you want OP to wait until 9am to call customer support to ask for stock levels before posting?

Meanwhile other communities/ customers are informed before 9am because they are not getting hung up on a technicality. You are working on after the fact information.

There is no way for OP to have known stock levels, short of buying every single unit.

                  • @stickymoo: Don’t worry about him, he’s just grumpy as he couldn’t buy one for himself. Good deal OP, but unfortunately couldn’t find one in my area :(

                    • @Going Broke: Because there wasn't enough stock for a deal. My point is, it wastes a lot of people's time looking for something not there. It is why the mods have this rule.

                  • +4

@stickymoo: Poster cried foul of a neg, they pointed out guidelines. I point out the guidelines too without negging the post.

This place would be flooded with 1 or 2 stock available that the vast majority couldn't benefit from if this guideline didn't exist. Don't like it, take it up with the mods and don't whinge to me, though I do agree with that guideline.

                    • +1

@FabMan: There was no way to know stock levels. This has nothing to do with guidelines?

                      • @stickymoo: Poster wrote 'Good luck finding them'… May have had suspicions it wasn't available everywhere. It's marked as out of stock by the mods for that reason, whinge to them instead of me please.

                        • @FabMan: Original neg complained about stock levels in his area. Not guidelines. That was you. There may very well have been a lot more than we know about in the places where customers purchased. There is plenty of popular, region specific deals all the time.

                          • @stickymoo: That wasn't me, like the original post, you did not check before commenting.

                            • -1

@FabMan: I didn’t state you negged. Just that you incorrectly brought up guidelines within the comments.

                              • @stickymoo: Actually the OP brought up guidelines first, so I replied bringing up the guidelines. Have you noticed the deal has been marked Out of Stock by the mods, and have you contacted them stating your points here? They seem to think there isn't enough stock.

Can you stop messaging me and message the mods with your points?

                                • @FabMan:

Poster wrote 'Good luck finding them'… May have had suspicions it wasn't available everywhere.

I don’t think “good luck finding them” is a guideline.
Also a deal doesn’t have to be available everywhere & to everyone.

This deal hasn’t been unpublished becuase it didn’t meet guidelines. It is just marked “out of stock”

                                  • +3

@stickymoo: Enough for Friday morning ladies :)

                                  • @stickymoo: I pointed out guidelines to someone pointing out guidelines. 6 reports of not enough / sold out, and the mods closed it too. I've not negged the deal, and I'm not changing my mind about pointing out guidelines to people pointing out guidelines. What do you hope to achieve by not leaving this subject matter alone?

                                • +1

@FabMan: I think you just need to admit you're wrong buddy. Your argument has no point, and stickymoo has proven it. Hope this helps with life in general.

                                  • @wozz: You don't have to be a twat wozz.

            • +9

              @FabMan:

No, that is what forums are for.

What, I thought forums were for were for legal advice?

              • @Scab: Only if you don't have car insurance and you hit a Merc GLC Coupe.

        • There has to be 10+ of any units also, were there?

…as a general rule, not an absolute. Please report a deal and let the mods decide if it should stand, moved or unpublished. A long argumentative thread like this serves no purpose. The problem with insufficient quantity deals has been solved a long time ago.

If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. As a general guide, deals with less than 10 items in stock at the time of submission may be unpublished, but moderators may, at their discretion, allow deals to stay if they are potentially useful to the community.

          • @alvian: As a general guide, or guidelines. You mentioned this arguement serves no purpose and joined in, so how does your post help at all?

I did report, the mods marked Out of Stock. OP wanted to point out guidelines, so did I. Can you and the other people get over this and move on?

            • +2

@FabMan: Op linked to the Voting Guidelines because a member negged for insufficient stock which is meant to be reported, not negged.

In response you brought up the Deal Posting Guidelines, which is no defense for the invalid neg vote.

              • -1

@WatchNerd: I didn't neg this deal, I didn't defend the neg vote, I reported the deal, I brought up guidelines with the original OP.

What is the purpose of your comment here, and is it of any use?

                • +1

                  @FabMan:

I didn't neg this deal, I didn't defend the neg vote,

Nobody said that you negged the deal but by being the 1st to upvote the neg voters comment is absolutely a sign of defending the vote. Members can remove a neg vote on a deal if the comment gets 8 neg votes, so by you upvoting that comment shows support & delays vote being removed.

I reported the deal, I brought up guidelines with the original OP.

Why did you bring up the Deal Posting Guidelines though? Your report to the mods about stock levels should have been enough and it had nothing to do with the invalid neg vote.

                  • @WatchNerd: Yeah, I can see that as defending the neg, I didn't think of it like that though when doing it. More of their comment being valid, not their neg. They should have made their comment, which I agreed with, but without a neg. I had searched my area too, of Brisbane.

"Why did you bring up the Deal Posting Guidelines though?" I brought up guidelines to someone bringing up guidelines. Their neg should have been sufficient when it got to -8, yet we both felt compelled to express the value of the guidelines.

            • @FabMan: I was simply trying to clarify a common misconception about the "rule" regarding insufficient quantity. I am not joining in this argument on either side and you need not take that aggressive tone with me.

              • @alvian: No aggression, I'm not angry with you. You pointed out its pointless and joined in, I highlighted this back to you and you got defensive.

I didn't neg this deal, I didn't defend the neg vote, I reported the deal, I brought up guidelines with the original OP who brought up guidelines.

Can it be left alone or do we need to discuss the same points again and again to further cement how useless this discussion is?

      • +8

Don't worry, the community will soon remove his unfair neg.

Everyone else gets robbed or stabbed in Moonah anyway. It's one of the major bogan epicentre's of Tasmania.

          • @Clear: I thought all bogans were bred out of Tasmania?

Everyone else gets robbed or stabbed in Moonah anyway.

  • Nice find buddy.. I hope its not price error.. I can see similar item for $547 LINDEN 55"(138cm) UHD LED LCD TV

    • The 1cm larger TV is an older model. Must be a stock clearance, hence the price and low stock.
