Okay, this isn't a sale but it definitely is scarce item.

I just had confirmation that Dyson Airwraps will be available in next 30-60minutes this morning sometime today to be purchased online.

There is only 500 units apparently online so first in first serve and when Christmas is around the corner it's unlikely they'd replenish before Christmas. I've been waiting for stock for over a few months now.

Dyson rep said they don't know if stores will have them but if they do only Adore online, David Jones and Myers exclusively have them which you can get around 3%-5% cashback if you are lucky.

Just to add a little more fuel to this fire, I called Dyson up and they confirmed that you can only purchase the item online and not over the phone. Rep also indicated that this batch is likely going to be the only ones available until next year.

    Okay, this isn't a sale

Then why did you post it?

    • +3

For those crazy dyson lovers like me :)

      • +20

Weird. I thought I was on OzBargain not OzDysonLovers.

        • +27

To be fair when the Mini NES and Mini SNES were scarce everyone was posting a deal with them at RRP when they became available. This is no different.

          • +2

@robbiey: Agreed. If the classic Nintendo RRPs could be constantly posted without issues simply because it was a limited item, then the same applies here.

        • Yep we should be all BargainLovers, not DysonLovers. :)

        • +3

          RRPBargain strikes again

          • +1

@4892: OzRRP but yeah, I get the point.

      • +9

        Ozbargain is filled with OzXiaomiLovers

        • I know right? Even people pushing Xiaomi toothbrushes in the Oral-B thread smh.

      • +6

        That’s a joke right?

      • +4

You'd think the name of the site would give it away.

      • +1

Show me the rule you neggsrs.

        I'll wait.

    • It is based on supply and demand here.

Low supply means high demand which in turn means higher prices. I guarantee you will find it at a very high price somewhere.

Hence this is actually a bargain at this given point in time due to the lack of supply in the market.

  • +1

holy crap, theyre selling for $1,500 on ebay

  • -2

    inb4 poverty daytime crowd

  • Hey if it works for Nintendo and Apple, works for Dyson too

Disclaimer: I do have a few Dyson products inc one of those Airblade fans :S. But I have my limit lol.

  • Thanks OP, wife xmas present sorted!

This will go well with her supersonic hair dryer

  • +2

    Don’t support this sale strategy!
    It artificially inflate the price!

  • take out loan
    buy all
    sell on ebay for 1500
    instant PROFIT

  • -1

    i love non deals

  • Already oos

    • The eBay coupon code starts at 10am… oh wait.

  • -1

    RRP

  • P. T. Barnum was and still is correct….

    • +2

“I don't care what the newspapers say about me as long as they spell my name right.”

      I agree.

    • Whatd he say

  • +1

Dyson have the best marketing. They're the apple of home appliances. Not the most powerful but high cool factor… :)

    • +2

      no, it's just Hot air.

    • +1

Correct. I used to be in to their products until I watched an engineer on YouTube (AvE) pulled their hairdryer apart and showed how obscenely overpriced and not particularly well engineered their products really are. He's done the same with their vacuums as well

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-vJxez9UF8

Shows that if you can nail your marketing suckers will pay whatever you want

      • +1

And I got negged to hell the other week for calling their vacuums overpriced, underpowered shit right here on OzB. The power of marketing…

      • +1

So, rather than the "Apple of home appliances", they're more the "Beats of home appliances"

  • +9

    I got one yesterday.

Purchased $700 worth of DJ's gift cards through Lumo ameego @ 10% off and went to DJ's through the velocity e-store to earn 8 points per $1.

w/ credit card fees, it was $636 + 5,600 velocity points worth around $180

    • just a thought that with cashrewards, no cashback is payable when using gift cards as a payment method. Just in case estore has a similar clause/term

      • As per David Jones on CR, "Cashback will be paid when Gift Cards are used as a payment method."

      • Yep, checked that beforehand and it was all good :)

    • 5,600 velocity points worth around $180 ?? wow really? so my 10k velocity points is nearly worth 300+? when did this happen! thought it was a $50 gift card at best .. LOL

      • Lul

      • If you were to buy the velocity points they'd be worth around $180

        • …… i did not know that was even possible and why anyone would!

  • +3

This is a deal. It's selling for below current market value. Who cares what the RRP is?

    • -7

Most everyone on this site. Do you not understand the whole point of this site?

      • +9

If you want a product, but can only buy it for a price higher than RRP, then getting it for RRP is a deal. Or am I missing something?

      • +7

Mate you seem to be getting really offended with this post. Obviously this item is hard to find at the moment so if this post helps people find something they want then it's of benefit. If the option for some people is to buy it at an inflated cost on ebay or at RRP then it's a bargain to some people.

  • +1

Are those so scarce? Bought one 2 weeks after the launch, shipped in one week. Myers and David Jones should also have stock AFAIK?

    • They are showing as OOS.

      • +1

Brodens strike again :( (also probably limited stock)

  • patiently waiting … unless i missed it already? thanks for sharing!

  • I've read the product page, but I still don't get what it is.. :O Is it to replace a curler, brush and hair dryer? What about a straightener?

    Please womansplain it to me.

    • +1

pretty much all of the above, maybe except the straightener part.. but you can blow wave/dry it straight also. but its mainly about the curling without the use of heat and there is also an attachment for the hair dryer also. Essentially it'll replace a few hair products.

    • +1

      closes legs

It’s an overpriced styler. You can curl, wave or straighten your hair.

      • I hope there was a tuck in there too..

Is this better than going for a Dyson SuperSonic hair dryer? or do they compliment each other?

        • +5

Get both, they complement each other. They also synergize with the V10 vacuum cleaner for even better curls and straighter hair.

          • Dyson sales rep.
          • +2

@cnut: Don't forget to combine all of the above with the air purifier, your hair will thank you!

            • +1

@JTTheMan: It goes without saying that the fan will also add 50% more curls.

  • +1

    Out of stock already?

  • I purchased one at launch and ended up returning it to Dyson for a refund.

It was ok, but not $699 worth in my opinion.

  • Out of stock when going to the link.
    That was quick

    • It hasn't even started. I think moderator changed the expiry.
I can confirm it hasn't started yet. I refresh every minute and I called Dyson 10 minutes ago to check and they have not started yet.

  • EDIT: Just saw Mr Chow's comment

  • And some people think LEGO is overpriced…

  • wow seems expensive …

  • -1

    …. ALL GONE….

    • When did it start?

      • Hasn't yet. I'm still on the refresh button.
        Wait for my call guys.

  • I heard it doesn't work as well as your traditional straightener/curlers as it only lasts for a very short period rather than a whole day. Also the blower attachment is crap, if you getting this thinking you will be using that feature alot, just get the dyson hair dryer.

    • +1

I heard the opposite. Takes some time and practice, but most reviews state the curls stay in longer.

  • -1

Did any stock actually go up today?

    • No none yet.

  • Out of Stock everywhere. Let's wrap this post.

  • +1

    It's on

  • IN STOCK NOW. Got one.

  • Is on people

            Link

            • @mr chow: Doesn't show up if not logged into DJ account. Maybe you said that. Anyway got one for Wifey. Cheers OP.

              Edit: Removed Myer.

  • Thanks got my order in!!

  • OOOh got one yay!

  • Got one thanks

  • got one. thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP, got one from DJs

  • Got one for the wife and hopefully arrive on time for TRS….

  • Whoo for those who got one.

I received one last week. It's pretty awesome. Not a 'bargain' sure but cuts down my morning routine by 10 to 20 percent and surely that's worth something!

    • Yeah, it’s worth $699 to be precise. 😝

  • +1

Amex david jones 300-50 offer + 7% shopback, about $94.5 cheaper compares to dyson official site.

    ~$541 final cost after TRS

    • 5592 velocity point (8p/$1) is worth more than 7% cashback ($48.93) I believe

    • Can split the payment into two over $300 and you will get $100 cash back.

  • +2

I had this product for 2 weeks and promptly sold it (made a nice profit on it too). Mine shorted out while I used ~ twice in the first week. Dyson did replace it. Please don’t believe all the hype and read the one and two star reviews before you drop $700 on this baby.
