  • I just picked up the 970EVO 500GB for $99
    - Computer Alliance $149
    - Bought a ebay $100 voucher with $20 off code
    - $10% off sitewide
    - $15 cash redemption
    - I forgot my 1% cashback though

    • <- Bought a ebay $100 voucher with $20 off code
      Which one is this please?

      • The recent 5% off ebay paypal gift card deal. Ebay sent me a $20 off $30 spend on my other account - so i decided to try it on buying the ebay gift card and it worked. I only got the $20 off, can't stack it with the 5% code. It took 5 hours for the digital voucher to arrive

        • Was there an ozbargain post on the $20 dollar deal? can you link it

          • +1

@kehuehue: There was no post. I have 2 accounts, one which I haven't used before, but stuff sitting in the cart. I assume the is an algorithm to target these accounts with a voucher to start the buying

  • got excited for a minute, seeking that ~$100 500gb

    • For a Samsung NVMe SSD? That'll take a while yet.

  • 1TB 970 very low stock around, it seems.

  • Is 250GB the sweet spot in terms of $/GB?

    • Yes!

      • +1

Nope. 500gb is better $/GB and a more useful size.

        • 1tb the best value, but 250 all you really need then hdd to save real money

Thanks, Bought it for my Synology DS918+

  • Hi OP
I notice you have "(+ $15 Cashback via Redemption)"
As from Samsung's Site the SSD 970 EVO NVMe M.2 has a cash redemption of $10.00 (MZ-V7E250BW 250GB) not $15.00
    https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssd-cashback/

Am I reading this right ?

    • +1

Not sure, My original post was $10, but has been edited.

      • Ok I'll be happy with $15..00

      • According to Samsung it should be $10:

        SSD 970 EVO NVMe M.2
        $10.00 MZ-V7E250BW 250GB

I've changed it back to $10

Nice deal, this SSD is pretty good I think

    • Which is faster Samsung 970 EVO or the Samsung 970 PRO? much difference worth paying for the faster one and I heard the bigger size in gigs bytes the faster the drive also? cheers

      • The difference is in the write speed with about a 50% difference in favour of the pro. In real world application though, read speed is where you will notice the biggest difference. As both have similar read speeds it's definitely not worth forking out the extra money for the pro vs the Evo if you are looking for value for money. In terms of value for performance the 500gb evo is where you will find your sweet spot even though the 1tb evo benches slightly faster.
