  • Good deal as it has Bluetooth, Op should mention that in the title.

I have this in my car. Very good head unit if you want high voltage pre-outs to go to an amp. If you don't have an amp then yeah this is just another random head unit.

    • AAC, FLAC, and 13 band?

It's a little better than a random HU in my opinion.

      • most will argue "It's not the Sony AX1000 head unit!"

I recently bought the 3100BT for $143 which is the same model, just without a CD player. After about 10 seconds of deliberation I realised I haven't handled an audio CD in literally years so went the option with less parts that can break.

    • How did you find installation?

I have no idea about anything car related, but I have a stock 05 or 06 model Yaris, and all I want is a Bluetooth stereo. Judging by your link, they even make it easy for Toyota installation, sorry for the dumb question, but do you know if additional cables are needed?

It's currently sitting under the Christmas tree ;)
I also have 0 experience in car audio, but did do some research to reach the point of buying this and speakers. As you pointed out this comes with the Toyota harness so there's no need for an extra fascia as most other stereos need. You'll also need two "harnesses", one to go into the car wiring and then another to go into the headunit. With these it should all be remarkably simple, and you'll find every car model under the sun has heaps of guides for all of this.

This might be a bit of redundant info but should also help you out.

        • I bought this 5100BT today from Autobarn. It is pretty easy to install on my 2005 Camry. They also sell this wiring harness. This make you much easier as you don't need to do the wiring, it is just plug and play. if you install it through them, they may charge you around $100.

          • @Itsondnet: How is the Spotify sync? You need to have the Kenwood app installed yeah?

  • I bought Pioneer FH-S705BT for $138.60 at JB Hi-fi last week.

Seems for a regular double din, the Pioneer is fantastic.

  • great deal but god damn if thats not one of the ugliest headunits i've ever seen :D
