  • Was just looking at these last night,

Any deals on the 0.3m Micro Usb also?

  • +2
    • +20

The short ones are good for powerbanks and you can hold them together without a 1m long cable trailing you.

      • +1

Yep agree, and got one. Also grabbed a 1m.

      • +7

Absolutely, got one so I can have both in a pocket if need be, without getting attacked by door handles

      • +1

The short ones are good for powerbanks

Still not short enough for powerbank, I am using the 15cm micro USB + the converter to USB-C

      • The short ones are good for powerbanks and you can hold them together without a 1m long cable trailing you.

Only if you're leaving it on the table charging.

If you're playing/using it at the same time, 30cm is not going to be very convenient.

        • It would depend on whether you're holding both the phone and the power bank together.

          • @JerryB: You would have to if the cable is that short. Unless you happen to be at your desk. You could put the power bank on the edge of the desk maybe. You would be uncomfortably tethered to the PB though, and if you move or get up, you risk dropping the PB to the floor.

If you're on the train, holding it at chest level, the cable would need to support a dangling power bank.

I think 60cm would be ideal for power bank use. 30cm is too restricting.

I never hold the two together one on top of the other. That's heavy and not comfortable. With no desk, the PB sits in my lap while I hold the phone.

            • @lostn:

If you're on the train, holding it at chest level, the cable would need to support a dangling power bank.

No it wouldn't, I use a short cable and hold my power bank and phone in one hand.

              • @spaceflight: I don't find that comfortable at all, given my PB is 27000mah, much heavier, thicker, and bigger than my phone. It feels very heavy if holding it in one hand.

      • Yep, I have couple of 0.3M, bought from the same seller, they are ideal when travelling.

    • +1

      Got this.
Unfortunately these are a bit flimsy.
The type c end became touchy.

  • Im a bit confused about these, would a note 9 benefit from it, charging speed wise? Thank you

    • It's really no different to the cable you would have got with the Note 9 - it's just shorter. Great for use with powerbanks when you don't want a 1m+ cable hanging.

  • Good timing… I needed to pick up a couple of these to go with powerbanks, and for use in my car for android auto.

  • Picked up one for a powerbank, thanks

  • thx got one for kicks

    • +3

Kick it over my way. Kthnxbye

      U d best

Do these have the 56k resistor built in? Can't see it written anywhere in description

    • BlitzWolf are good. I thought Tronsmart would be, too but I recall someone had one catch fire in their car?

Worth checking to see if this passed or is included in Benson Leung's testing.

      • +3

Benson Leung discontinued testing a very long time ago as his employer (Google) told him to stop.

All current Tronsmart gear is compliant to the USB-C standards outlined by USB-IF. BlitzWolf are also reliable 😊

        • I believe that Tronsmart cables are Benson approved - you can see his reviews on amazon for earlier cables: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018S3489E/?coliid=IGQNPFVWDR7F8&c…

For Blitzwolf, I understand the Ampcore range is highly rated (ampcore cables specifically states that it has 56k resistor built in). Just a bit hesitant with these cables posted as it's a bit difficult to confirm if these have the resistor or not.

Any USB C to USB C?
    Also BW-S6 from this deal?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/424743

    • Was just about to ask this about USB-C to USB-C, the one Blitzwolf cable is out of stock.

  • Any deals on the Blitzwolf Type C?

  • Does it work on charging laptop? Previously I have to use usb c to usb c cable to charge a laptop with zmi 20000 powerbank

    • +2

No it won't charge a laptop. USB PD only works with USB C to C

  • Hi,

Will this work of a Nintendo Switch to charge via USB/in a car?

    Thanks

    • Would also like to know this (more so using an iPad 10w/12w charger)

      • Refer to this graph Switch Charging Speed: "charges in some conditions"

        • Thanks for the graph! Are there any AC adapters that is suitable for dock? I've got usb c to usb c cables but I don't want get the switch ac charger as when they break, I'll have to replace the whole thing. This way I can get each part and replace as required, it'll also be cheaper.

          • @CodeXD: The Blitzwolf S11 seems to be the cheap alternative many people go for.

Alternatively, just use any compatible USB-C PD charger (preferably with 15V2.6A 40W or more output to achieve the Superb charger rating in the Graph), e.g. Google pixel chargers, Macbook charger, Dell, Lenovo and Xiaomi laptop chargers etc.

            • @Mostly Melbourne: Looks like those will work with the switch in hand-held (the banggood description even specifically mentions this too).

              • @CodeXD: From the list on SwitchChargers.com, quite a number of the "Superb" ones are available in Australia

                • Apple 61W USB-C
                • Dell 45W USB-C Adapter
                • ZMI PowerPlug Turbo/Xiaomi 45W USB-C

Otherwise by specs, Alogic and Cygnett have USB PD Chargers (quite expensive though)

          • @CodeXD: NO. Unless things have changed, only use a first party power brick for the dock. Many people have had their switches get bricked because Nintendo faffed up and didn't follow USB spec properly.

I don't know why its not an issue in handheld mode though.

            • @justtoreply: I've only read about 3rd party docks bricking switches, never about using 3rd party ac adapter power with official dock. I think you are right tho, official Nintendo product is the way to go

              • @CodeXD: Ok, you're probably right, you seem more informed than I am. Amazon had two genuine AC's for $35ish total IIRC so I stocked up and stopped caring. And I don't dock mine, so I have never used my dock :)

    • Be careful, not all cables are compatible with Switch. You want one with a 56k ohm resistor which is not clear if included in the one advertised here.

    • It would but it's super short so not ideal if you wanted to keep playing.

i got 3 x blitzwoof micro usb chargers from banggood. some reason all of the tips have given out in less than 2 months. any idea why??

  • Ebay has better prices for 30cm cables

  • Thanks!

  • -1

I assume this would work fine with GoPro Hero 6 Black too?

  • Bought 1 from eBay. Braided, longer, arrive sooner, $2 more. I know, we're OzBs, but I need it before next Friday, so…

    • Send me link please

    • +3

Please note, these cables are marked SS, but are actually fake and only USB 2.0 - NOT 10Gbps. I cut one open to find out, as it was too slow for my SSD.

You get what you pay for… I'm writing a post for my blog to help people choose USB-C cables, will share that soon.

      • Are you sure? I thought BlitzWolf is a decent brand. How should it look like if it wasn't fake?

        • +1

I was referring to the cheap cables linked in the comment above. BlitzWolf is excellent, I love and (from my own testing) fully trust their products!

  • Paid $3.74 Amex.

    Got ripped

  • Are you guys Anti-iphones? Never put the lightning cables on special!

  • +2

Also after USB C to C please :)

  • +1

These are good for use in the car with Android Auto. Being shorter, it keeps things tidy and also deters you from picking up the phone while still connected.

  • Any special possible for the BW-TC9?

  • +1

    Rep,

You may want to clarify that this cable will not charge at 3A.

As it has a USB A connector it will be limited to 2.4A.

Also it looks like a USB 2 cable so transfers will be limited to 480Mbps or 30MB/s max.

    • Dealbreaker if true. Tho I dunno what makes you say USB2 speed? I've got plenty of USB A->C that transfer faster than USB2 speed.

      • The photo indicated that doesn’t have a blue USB A connector to indicate it’s Usb 3.0.

        • The colour of the plastic doesn't determine the speed or USB version.

    • Specification:
      Model: BW-TC13
      Colour: Black, Red
Plug: USB 2.0 A Male to USB Type-C Male
      Current: Up to 3A
Materials: Injection Moulded Connector + PVC Jacket + Nickle-plated Connector Heads
Wire Core: 22 AWG (Power)+ 30 AWG (Data)
Data Sync Speed: Up to 480Mbps
      Length: 0.98ft/0.3m
      OD: 3.8mm
      Net Weight: 13g
      Weight: 17g

I don't know enough to pass comment.

    • +2

As it has a USB A connector it will be limited to 2.4A.

      USB A isn't limited to 2.4A

For example QC2 used by most Samsung phones works up to 3A
      https://www.qualcomm.com/products/quick-charge-2

    • +2

As it has a USB A connector it will be limited to 2.4A.

USB-A isn't the bottleneck on cables. Micro USB has a theoretical maximum of 20V/3A which fast charging protocols such as Quick Charge 2.0 are cable of achieving. Micro USB cables can also be modified to allow higher levels of power. Oppo for example in the early days of VOOC added an extra 2 pins to their Micro USB connectors (7 pins total) to allow 5V/4A charging.

USB-C is capable of 3A up to 60W and 5A up to 100W. The purpose of the 56kOhm resistor is to detect legacy devices and draw up to 2.4A instead of 3A. This is where the misconception of a 2.4A maximum usually comes from.

An example of a USB-A to C cable drawing more than 2.4A would be the ones used for Oppo VOOC/OnePlus Dash (5V/4A) and Huawei SuperCharge (5V/4.5A). However these 2 charging technologies are not USB-IF compliant and require specially designed cables to allow the higher output.

  • Rep:
    I am looking at this
    https://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-Ampcore-Turbo-TC9-3A-Brai…

    Processing time:33 business days
?? Is that mean you have no stock for at least month and a half?

    • +2

Based on my experience, it means you will wait 33 days and then get an email asking you to pick a different product or get a refund.

In stock or buy from a different company in china/ebay.

  • +1

    @Bangood rep
My order which shipped 30th October has still not arrived 2+ months down the track.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/412550

    It's order number: 56479276

Can you please look into it and refund or resend? The expected delivery date is 7/12/18 and we're now almost a month past that as well.

  • @BanggoodREP

    Description says GST included??

Why is my cart showing + GST then??

    • GST is added at checkout and the title is inclusive of GST as per OzBargain's requirements.

On the product page the cable is $2.29 US and at checkout the GST is applied so it becomes $2.52 US as is stated in the OP.

      • Yep, cheers @Clear.. Was in AUD throwing the figures out..

  • Still no love for Apple :(
Been waiting for MF-7 lightning cables.

  • I'm trying to purchase via the mobile app an even though it says shipping is free, $5 shipping cost is bein added at checkout. How do I avoid this?

    • Strange, mine was free though GST is applied to bump it up 10%

      • change to USD, i noted the same thing above but title is the correct price… (List price + GST)

        • Thanks but that doesn't seem to work for me. Shipping changed to $4 USD. I will try it from my laptop when I have a chance

        • +1

Laptop order worked. Potato GS8 was having issues. AUD price charge to paypal was $3.72.

          Good buy/bye. Cheers.

  • Only just got the email that it was dispatched today….just a tad under 3 weeks after ordering.
    Pretty poor form.
