  • Can the Belong $40 be used in the $10 per month plan?

    • +2

yes you can get 4 months out of it

      • +7

        6 with a referral.

        • +1

Nearly 8 if you have a partner to tag with, it's a cheap way to fund a second phone - I'm looking for such a partner, message me if interested.

          • @philart: Would you mind elaborating on how this works?

      • Sorry how do these starter packs work? I get this and then I can pick a belong plan?

        • +1

Yes, you can pick $10 a month, or $25 a month, or $40 a month

        • when you are activating it lets you choose which plan you want to be on, if you choose the cheaper one then you will have some leftover credit

          • @Jollystacker: do you know if this remaining credit can be used to purchase top-up data?

            • -1

@bwilso06: yes it should be fine

            • @bwilso06: No it most certainly cant

            • @bwilso06: Even if it could you wouldn't want to, you'd be better off with the $40 plan for 15GB than a $10 plan and 3 topups for 7GB total

    • really? can anyone else confirm this aswell? how it work?

      • During the activation process you get to choose what plan you want to activate on. $10 plan, $25 plan, or $40 plan

        • thanks…Belong is on my list for my family members who are not really need the internet, $10 is good plan and $40 sim card $13.5 still cheap that's pretty much $3.40 each month for 4 months.

is Belong only have this feature of selecting plans? never aware of this with voda-kodan-amysims-optus…

  • +4

For Belong - dont forget the belong referral code for $20 credit.

  • 2 per sim?

    or 2 per order?

    tried to order 2 + 2 and doesn't work! :(

    • +1

      Hi davidl2,

It is 2 per sim, thank you it has been fixed

      • I ordered the Vodafone, now trying to order the Belong, doesn't accept the code! :(

        can this be fixed?

        • +2

Sorry should be fixed now, please try again

      • How do we go about applying the free delivery ?

  • -3

"Note: Mobileciti is not an official Vodafone reseller."
    I wouldn't take the risk…

    • +5

What is the risk exactly given the fact that they are well established in Sydney?

    • +4

      Hi Taneda1988

      I wouldn't take the risk…

What risk? feel free to check productreviews or eBay Feedback

You may not be able to get a replacement sim from Vodafone if it fails, they have all rights to reject you

you won't have any issues with sim replacment, there is no reason to reject you.

any issues you can reach our customer service or PM me;)

  • Does the Belong Sim have expiry date?

    • Apparently 1 year

      • Thanks. Where do you find this info from?

      • 1 year from purchase date or the production date stamped at the back of the sim pack? If production date, we don’t know what it is until we receive it. If purchase date, how does belong know the purchase date during the activation process? Got to wait for my yearly plan to expire…

  • Does Belong have Voicemail now?

This page seems to be from their Support page providing instruction to set up Voicemail? https://uat-belongsupport.cs57.force.com/voice/manage/how-do…

    • No, only voice to text service

    • +1

      No, not on mobile.

Belong Voice is their VoIP product that's available with their broadband service. https://www.belong.com.au/content/dam/belong/downloads/CIS-B…

      • Thanks. How reliable is their Voice to text service?

Have been hesitating to sign up due to the lack of Voicemail.

        • I set mine up on a voip provider.

          • @shadowangel: I suppose you forward your call to voip when no answer/busy. Is call forwarding included as part of the unlimited voice calls so it is free to use?

            • @sylvester328: yes, just forward. its incoming call so yes it should be free. mine just emails me a copy of the voice recording.

        • +3

It's the same as Telstra's. If the person speaks clearly and slowly it can be fairly accurate, but if they're calling from an OS call centre or have a thick accent you'll get a text message containing a pile of garbage.

I set mine up to divert to an extension on our work PBX that goes to voicemail immediately then emails me a wav file of the message ;)
You may be able to find a VoIP provider you can use that won't cost you much/anything. Check Whirlpool's VoIP forum to see if any of the providers are currently offering free DID's on prepaid plans that also offer voicemail, then set your phone's divert settings to that.

        • +1

I've never had an unreadable text message, though it has gotten a name wrong once. I called my maths tutoring student by the wrong name for about two months before they finally corrected me. It has always gotten phone numbers right though (where people speak the number in a message). I personally hate listening to voicemail and if there was a choice between voicemail and voice 2 text I would choose voice 2 text every time, keeps messages together with a person's phone number and so much easier to find old info. And you don't have to worry about clearing out old messages to save space, you have every voice text you've ever gotten easy to look up.

  • When I used the Belong before, I didn't find the disable the "AUTO RECHARGE" option. Belong doesn't provide disable auto recharge switch?

    • +1

Gotta cancel by sending a support request

    • +1

      Or port out

      • Just port out? No need to send cancellation request via support?

  • +2

NOOOO! I just bought the cellmate deal for $15!

    $1.50 lost FOREVER! 😢

  • Can i activate vodafone for 365 days plan?

  • So as a beginner with Belong.. I'd probably like to use the $25 plan. So what would happen with the $40 Sim pack? Would it give me a month of a $40 plan.. and then charge me $40 per month thereafter? Or could I downgrade to the $25 plan after the first month?
Or can I somehow start a $25 plan but put a $40 code or something..?

    • use referral and get two months for free and you will have $10 left for the thrid month.

    • +1

You get double data on the first month, which rolls over.
So always start with the $40 plan, unless you use less than 1GB/month.

      • Does your data still rollover if you get the $40 plan for first month but want to downgrade to $10 plan the next month? Thanks

        • +3

Yes. I started on the $40 plan, and immediately downgraded to the $10 plan. Through the OzBargain random referral system I've somehow fluked 5 different people using my code, effectively giving me enough credit to stay on the $10 plan until about June this year, and I signed up in August last year. Still have 13.5GB data remaining too, since I have WiFi at home and work, I rarely need large amounts of 3G/4G data.

          • @bonezAU: Good stuff. Thanks for the reply

          • @bonezAU: This sounds interesting…Never been a Belong customer before.
So with the $40 SIM starter kit bought with referral code, I can start with a $40 plan (15G data) for first month and then downgrade to the $10 plan for second and third month which would be "paid" from the $20 referral program. In short, I would get total 17G data with unlimited local call/text for 3 months with a $40 starter kit at a cost of $13.50.

Alternatively, for low data user, you can activate the $40 SIM on a $10 plan and you would get total 6G data for 6 months with unlimited call/text. Is my understanding correct?

Does the $20 referral get credited upon activation of the SIM? Do I need to write to Belong to change the plan or I can change just do it online? Does Belong has a mobile app?

            • @F1ngolf: you can actually get 32G of data with unlimited call/txt for 3 months with the $40 starter kit due to double data (as long as you don't activate on the 4th, 12th, 20th or 28th of the month)…. ie 15G + 15G + 1G (2nd month) + 1G (3rd Month

              • @wippy: Hey Wippy, where does it say in Belong website that you will be getting double data to 30gb on the $40 plan?
                When does the promotion finish?

                • @he88388: See the Whirlpool info for Belong mobile, from there:

One month worth of data is credited on activation, and another on your first payment date, 1-8 days later. So you effectively get double data for the first monthly payment. You can then change to a lower rate plan ($10/month) and use the banked data allowance.

                  • @4wd: Can you activiate on the 40 dollar plan, get the 15 gb, change the account to the 10 dollar plan before the first payment date and keep the 15gbs?

              • @wippy: Wonderful! Thanks.

          • @bonezAU: How did you get a referral code from Belong?

  • Interested in using the Vodafone sims ($7.50 with code), primarily to use the GBs data in a Vodafone pocket wifi.

What is the final date they can be activated by?

Also, what GBs are included in the $30 Vodafone "kit?"

    Thank you.

    • kogan ones are cheaper

  • +2

Bought 2 belong sim thanks OP.

  • Does anyone know if I could buy one of these activate it and then gift all the data to my existing belong service ?

    • +4

Yes I do this every few months. Just sign up with a new email address. Make sure you refer yourself so your existing service gets $20 credit also.

Make sure you activate on a date that isn't a billing date. Then send a request to cancel the service.

From previous ozb post: Initial billing dates are every eighth day (4th, 12th, 20th, 28th of the month). So, for example, if you buy and activate today (19th October), tomorrow you will get an additional 15GB (total = 30GB). ** NOTE: It is best to delay your activation until shortly after one of these billing dates**

      • Thanks Darwin,

        Will order one now:)

      • Make sure you activate on a date that isn't a billing date.

Why? Would you miss out on the double data then? Confirmed cases?
        That would be strange.

      • Make sure you activate on a date that isn't a billing date. Then send a request to cancel the service.

I suppose you would use up the $20 extra credit before cancelling, right?

And they do have a limit of 10 referrrals.

        • yes.. its just a mater of what is the most cost effective, and quickest way to use the $20 credit

  • How do I get free shipping on this deal please?

    • Select flat rate postage option ($0.00)

      • Showed $7.50 for me, which killed the Economics

  • +1

Hi Op, is the Belong $40 offer gone? Web page has no option to add to cart…

    • +1

Yeah looks like it's out of stock

      • +2

For an extra $1.50 you can still get them here

    • Yes, rep, —- can you get some back in stock while the Deal is live?

    • +1

      Hi jerryd,

Yes the Belong $40 kits are all sold out now

      • are you able to add any more?

      • I would also be interested in Belong SIM if there's more stock, thanks OP.

  • Looks like the Belong stock is all gone.

  • damn i was too slow….hope u will be able to add more stocks 😭

  • Too late for Belong

  • Need belong Sim… Plz restock

  • Thanks for this deal OP. I tried activating using one of the randomly generated ozbargain referral codes but upon activation, I can't seem to find anywhere in my dashboard that says I have received a referral credit of $20. Is there somewhere in the Belong portal that tells you the $20 credit has been added to your account?

    • Where did you find the random codes?

    • +1

In your account click on payment and look for applied credit. If you activated on the $10 plan you should have $50 credit left.

      • Thanks for confirming this. So if I activated the $40 plan and it shows $40 credit applied and $0 leftover, it sounds like my referral code was unsuccessfully applied? I actually tried porting my number a couple of times and the error message kept showing when I clicked submit and my dashboard just stopped loading altogether. I waited 3-4 hours and logged back in only to find that my number was successfully ported but the referral credit doesn't seem to be there. I will lodge a support request and see what Belong say.
