Insanely cheap, but stupid specifications if purchasing make sure to also get extra 8gb stick and a 1/2tb 7200rpm HDD. Or just buy for CPU/gpu.

    • It's already got 2x 8GB RAM, you think it needs another?

      • +5

I tried to reply to your comment but you deleted it is read the 2080's 8gb as system ram by accident see my below updated comment

Insanely cheap, but stupid specifications in regards to a storage, if purchasing make sure to also get a 1/2tb 7200rpm and if possible and if motherboard supports it a nvme ssd.

I would also be weary of the power supply.

    Or just buy for CPU/gpu.

    • Apparently power supply is thermaltake in which take that's all good so just a bad storage config.

How long does it take to ship it? I have read several comments said that I would take several weeks?

    • +5

I am still waiting for mine to ship as parts only from Dec 28th purchase.

But it's so cheap, I can't complain too much.

I showed a guy at Scorptec and he said they would easily charge 3.5k+ for this build.

      • Do you mean that you ordered parts only?

        • I ordered this system but requested it to be sent as parts only as I want to upgrade the case and PSU.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Oh, now I know we can order like that. But, it's parts only and it takes that long?

            • +1

@chewchew: Sorry just saw this. Yeah Tech Fast are notoriously slow at shipping. They said sending parts only would save about 1 day in shipping time. Still waiting …

    • Seems to be 3 weeks (20~ days).

      • +2

Uhh, so tempting but I'm going overseas on holiday next week.

      • +3

I waited for a month, so don't trust their ridiculous "estimation"

        • Thanks for letting me know.

        • I guess due to Christmas holidays?

          • @Being Askhole: No, my one after 4 weeks still havent shipped yet. They told me that the system is currently awaiting a 2080 that is currently on backorder with no current eta.

        • +3

No, it's people here reporting those times that make me say that.

Did you order over the X-mas period? They were closed the week of Christmas, so will have obviously impacted that.

*As per Linus Tech tips video on pre-builts, 3 weeks is a pretty average build and delivery time for pre-builts.

        • Ordered on 21/12, still waiting…

          • @tyn000: I ordered on the 19th and rep said they would que me with my previous order (I canceled an order from November)
End up having to sent eBay a request and they sent it 3 days after

  • worth paying the extra ~$350 for the 1950?

    • if you use it for gaming mainly, choose an i7 variant.

      • Why would you choose the i7 variant over 1950x?

        • +5

i7 has a better single core performance which is favoured by any games

          • +5

@chewchew: Something to note here however, is that the i7 PC will use a cheapo board whereas the TR build can't really have a cheap Mobo (because TR)

*Correct me if I'm wrong, not wholey familiar with Intel boards so could be wrong.

            • +2

@N1NJ4W4RR10R: I think I agree with you. TR motherboards are likely toward high-end PC whereas the opposite tends to have a wider PC range. However, to me, it's not really a deal breaker.

    • +2

      extra 4-cores/8-threads for multi-threading workloads

      your call

  • the 1920X model cost me $2233 parts only. So really 14% saving

    5 Case Fans: (2x) 120mm Fans
70 Power Supply: Thermaltake 750W Power Supply

35 Primary Drive: 240GB Solid State Drive

    • Hold on! I requested parts only, I paid full price though. Are you saying you paid less for parts only shipment?

      • this is parts price from Google research

        • Ohh! My bad

        • +1

Where can you get a brand name x399 for that price? They are $400 for entry level. And if you walked into any computer shop and came out with change for 3k I'd he suprised.

    • +1

Where are you finding a TR mobo for that price? Cheapest one on PCPP is $389

      • +2

youre right mobo should be 389
        Total 2457 O_O

        • +1

Good for this deal, RIP elsewhere. These boards are expensive, lol.

    • +1

$165 AUD for an X399? I think you have a typo there

Edit: ah you already realised this

  • Perfect timing. Going to grab this time. Thanks op

  • +5

From the looks of this it should now include a copy of Anthem in addition to BFV. We probably need to get the rep to confirm, though.

    • +1

Make sure to conf if that's a big thing for you. Tmk it's selected sellers for stuff like that.

They've done a few of them with their previous deals though, so it's likely the same here.

    • wow that would be nice.. hoping rep can jump and confirm :)

    • +1

I got a code with my pack that I redeem directly through Origin. Should still be available unless NVidia pulled the deal early.

    • I messaged them yesterday and they told me it comes with BFV and Anthem

  • I ordered an i7 2080 build on 19/12 and requested it as parts and am still waiting for it to be shipped.
I am aware of the Xmas and New Years break which would have delayed things a bit. Have messaged the rep for an update today.

We really need an all in one Tech Fast thread to add these deals and our experiences into.

  • Bought a machine on 19/12 and still not shipped. They keep pushing back the ship date. Was meant to receive by Jan 5….

  • Wait time is too long. Not sure why they come up with these deals if they have not fulfilled the past sales. Looks like they are using customers money.

  • I ordered mine this morning. Pretty excited, now they waiting game. I know they were away over xmas so I'm hoping the wait isnt too long now.

  • +2

Good to see techfast taking onboard comments and using a namebrand 750W PSU on a high powered build like this rather than an ultra cheapo one. Would still like to see faster ram, 2666 as a minimum or preferably 3000/3200. I'm happy with the storage config offered, 240gb ssd is ok for the OS then the user can add as much extra storage as he needs. One question though, does the motherboard have an m.2 slot? Would be good to be able to upgrade the storage to an nvme ssd drive.

    • Cheapest thread-ripper board is $389 and has 3x m.2 slots. So yes.

      • My concern is that they use cheaper scaled back x399 motherboards that are not readily available from your usual computer stores, like they did with the cheap biostar motherboards in their cheaper builds. I'm sure some manufacturer out there has made an x399 board compatible with TR that has far less features for less than $389…

        • how do you know the speed of the ram? I can't find it in the listing.

          • @Feeblely: Coz if they had improved it they would advertise the fact to get more sales.

  • Shame that they have raised the price of the cheaper models

  • This is good deal. But holding out for Ryzen 3 and Radeon VII.

  • +1

With all the comments about delivery time, love the techfast website, the page slogan is 'TechFast - Great Tech, Delivered FAST!'

But at the same time thinking about getting this, great price, and even better if it does get extra game! Looking on their website the 2080 systems state 'Get Battlefield V & Anthem with the Purchase of any RTX 2080 or RTX 2080Ti Graphics Card' so looks like it will include both.

  • Anyone know what brand/model of 2080 it is shipped with?

    • I'd like to know also, but sounds like its whatever they have in stock at any time.they will be doing a bulk order so we can assume when people start getting their systems it will be the same for all

    • Between an MSI model (tri fan?), Asus turbo (blower) and a galax/biostar model (dual fan I think)

  • Hijacking this post to see if anyone has suggestions/thoughts regarding PC builds that are currently on sale for $1200-$1500?

Or is it worth just biting the bullet and getting something like this for the value you receive? Primary use would be for gaming, I don't really care too much about "graphics" more interested in being able to play without any lag at a reasonable quality.

Went with the I7 8700. it was a hard choice over the tbreadripper hopefully i made the right one.

    Intel i7 8700, RTX 2080(8GB), 240GB SSD, 16GB DDR4, 750w PSU, B360m Mobo + 2tb hdd.

$1983. that is some insane value even if some tinkering is involved.

    • +3

why'd you pick the 8700 over the TR?

      • i7 is better for gaming. Probably runs a lot cooler too.

        • Do you think stock cooler will be enough? I suppose the assembly/case has a lot to do with that

    • +3

If you’re a gamer, for sure. If you didn’t get it for gaming and are more business/graphic designer then no, poor choice.

      • Got it for gaming.

        • I think you made the right choice. Not that the TR is a slouch but the i7 will perform better for games.

    • What are your thoughts on the mobo? Z not needed since it's not a K edition CPU, however it has the potential to be fairly basic (read: no-name brand). I might order it and upgrade the mobo depending on what I get. If I get Asrock I'd be pretty stoked. USB, SATA and M2 slots seem to be sufficient - max RAM speed is perhaps the one concern, and a mild one at that.

Is the included SSD just a m.2/SATA model? Would assume so. I have a 1TB drive I picked up during the Samsung promotion, not PCIE though :(

  • Can anyone list the parts in the x1950 build? Want to see what components are used…appreciate it.

  • +1

I order one just before xmas. Still waiting. More like techslow.
Havent replied to me since last week even though message twice this week and was told it would be ahipped early this week hut i guess not.
Geez even in the same state as them and still cant get it right not even sent yet.

    • Similar position here. Ordered and paid on 28/12 and still waiting… original expected shipping date was the second week of Jan.

  • Okay just an update. I decided on buying the 1920x version over the 8700 even though I am using it primarily to game and stream. Reasoning being that x399 boards are more expensive and it comes with with water cooling so I'm assuming it has better "quality" parts. Furthermore, the 1920x costs more than the 8700 initally so it feels like im getting more of a "bargain" too lol. Also clock speeds are pretty much the same. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, 8700 gets 143 fps whilst the 1920x gets 131 fps so it's not that much a difference. What do you guys think?

  • Are we going down the track of "roboguy" with this?

  • So I got an update that the case will be upgraded to a Thermaltake View 71 instead of the leaper pro because the e-atx mobo can't fit in the leaper.

    • Hey mare. I believe people have started receiving them this week. Hopefully someone can update us with some pictures or the system or something when they get them.
