      If you don't need connectivity to tv like hdmi's and surround channels, stick with a stereo amplifier. will give the juice that your floor speakers needs.

    I purchased the YAS-108/ATS-1080 soundbar late last year. Great value. Sounds good. I would recommend it.

    The price of the RX-685 is decent, not the best ever posted on Ozbargain.. Hopefully it'll drop further soon.

    Yamaha is set to announce a whole heap of new z audio visual/music products very shortly (over next couple of days)!

      Contemplating adding a sub to my 108 based on some commentary elsewhere that doing so offloads some of the woofer duties from the soundbar (and inference is it will mean the speakers are retasked higher up the frequency range but if so it would be ideal).

        Sorry yes I should have mentioned. I do have an additional sub (Jamo 8 inch) connected to the yas108. Complements the sound beautifully. I'd recommend adding a sub if possible..

    This OP/rep should be an OzB sticky/wiki/casestudy in how you get increased overall revenue via lower margins but much greater sales volume & superb customer service. Well done.

      Just don't see it come from small/med retailers with better customer service very often I guess.

    Been waiting for the 4K projectors to come down a bit in price.

    Looks like they have a little on your site but there is a big discrepancy from $2k price point to $9k price point and laser and lamp lighting.

    If you want a good movie cinema experience, what is the right one to go for as typically most expensive does not always mean best?

    Is there anything cheaper than the RX-V685 that handles phono?
    I need 5.1 minimum, bluetooth and/or network are ideal.

      Hi, no sorry that is the entry point for AVR's with phono stage built in, you could possibly do a cheaper AVR with a separate phono stage box for your turntable - however that then pushes your overall spend back up.

      most definitely - separate components will generally always give you a better outcome, soundbars are a compromise on quality for a great aesthetic appeal.

    Currently I have these speakers and the rear surround seems lack of power. I thought of getting the NS-P51 to replace the rear.
    (1) Is this advisable? (2) If after this purchase, Which centre should I use whilst which should I put aside?

    Im looking for a new amp as my old one doesnt support 4k.

    I currently have a onkyo nr579 which is powering dali concept 10s up front and concept surrounds, also have a SVSPB2000.

    I know the 10s take a bit of power to get up and going so just wondering what you would recommend? Someone recommened the VX683, I see the 685 on sale but im not sure what the difference between the 2 is? I noticed the 685 was only doing 90w a channel?

    Also ill probably go atmos in the future, ive read the 685 wont allow you to run rear surrounds and atmos up top at the same time?

    Anyway id like to spend sub 1k if possible :)

    Thanks Rep - just purchased the Yamaha RX-V385. Was going to go the originally posted HTR-2071 but thought for a little extra I'll use the bluetooth (as Everything is Better with Bluetooth) and prefer the speaker binding posts to be the same for all speakers. Looking foward to connecting it up!
